I'd never heard of frozen custard until I arrived Arizona. Andy's has become a favorite of ours although we reserve it for rare treats. A rare treat. She-who-must-be-obeyed enjoyed a chocolate-chocolate malt whilst I sucked back a strawberry-banana malt. The staff are professional and whip up orders in minutes that. I'd probably give them a 5 except that the drive through entrance is really odd. I love the custard, both chocolate and vanilla. While I have had most of the specialty items -- jackhammers, concretes, sundaes, shakes and malts, a simple cup or cone of custard is just right. OK, a cup of vanilla with hot fudge on it is amazing, but I shouldn't be eating that all the time! We have been here quite a few times and the service is usually fast and friendly -- maybe a dip in happiness when the poor staff have to stand outside in the heat of the summer to take orders, but that's about it. I can't say much about ambience here since it is either a walk-up or drive-up affair. There are some benches, but that's really about it. We usually eat in the car when we come to this location. If you join their loyalty program, you can easily earn points and they will usually ask you if you want to redeem them once you've hit a reward tier (unlike some places that hope that you aren't keeping track and will just let the points expire). I think you just earn $5 off coupons, but that works for me. read more

It's a cool looking place, they make the custard right on site. We've been there twice, second time was a bit of a wait. They only take orders from one window, one person at a time so even if there's not many people there it still takes awhile to get your order. My husband and I have been going to Andy's at least twice a month for at least 2years.... They were really great but all the sudden they have been messing up our order every single time we go. They seem to have new people every month and they don't seem to know how to do their job. I have a gluten allergy and when I ask for that extra precaution they look at me silly. Really needing it to go back the way it was and get better management. We really love the ice cream but needing someone who can actually make it. read more

We came by after dinner to eat dessert here. There was nobody here and maybe a car or two in the drive-thru. We parked, walked over, and ordered two small Boot Daddy ($6.49 each). The menu had a lot of delicious sounding items and everything sounded good to order. It took a few minutes before our order was ready. There were a couple of benches outside with trash cans but that's about it. The small Boot Daddy was delicious and everything complemented well. One small order would definitely be enough for one person. I would recommend the Boot Daddy and I'll be back to try other items on the menu. read more

So we went today because we had a coupon from the mail. My partner ordered a custard with brownie, marshmallows and almonds. I can't remember the actual name of the treat but it pretty much was just rocky road ice cream. But for $8. Then I ordered the butter pecan custard, which had vanilla, pecans and a crazy amount of Carmel for another $8. The chocolate custard was a medium and mine was a small. But we both received a small after getting home and realizing the sizes were wrong. Sigh.. they both were just over barringly sweet. Nothing crazy special and I wouldn't crave it again. We arrived around 7:35p, this evening, with the idea of getting a milkshake and a small custard. That did not happen. The woman behind the window finished taking the order for the customer in front of me and asked me to wait a moment as she did something. So, there we are, waiting for service. In the meanwhile, I'm watching flickering lights perform a strobe light rave show nearby, insects were buzzing around the window the woman left open, and I'm watching 4 out of 7 employees just standing around smiling, laughing, or talking to each other. We waited a few minutes, I made eye contact a few times with an employee who was just standing around, and after a few minutes we figured the place didn't need our money so we left. Clearly, chatting, laughing, and having a good time as bugs flying around and on guests was more important than serving customers. We won't be returning. Update - 09/30/2023: As you can see, they wanted me to reach out to them. I actually did, but not for the reason you might think. I described the situation we experienced and expressed how disappointing the whole thing was. Now, don't get me wrong; in the grand scheme of things, this is not important. We didn't lose sleep, we didn't have a traumatic experience, and our lives were not forever changed. In fact, I even assured Andy's that we, as random customers, don't matter. So exciting that an Andy's location is finally in the East Mesa area. The location looks very clean and they decorated it for Christmas, which was very cute and festive. Came here on a Thursday right after it opened. There was plenty of parking and no line. The custard was great and order was correct. Service. A line started to form & someone came out w/a tablet to our order. I ordered a medium marshmallow sundae topped with coconut & a couple extra cherries on top. Get to window and there were a bunch of m. Cherries on the bottom & mixed throughout. I said I didn't order that why all those cherries where's the coconut & marshmallow? He apologized and they remade. The young lady that delivered certainly could use some facial expression manners. It came with a ton of cherries on top. We pulled into a Parking spot to eat. It was still wrong! No marshmallow a spoonful of coconut and maraschino cherries mixed throughout and a ton more on the bottom. Someone needs to listen or type up an order correctly or learn to read. I just left this Andy's frozen yogurt and the customer service was beyond exceptional. I forgot my wallet at home and usually do Apple Pay or cash. However I soon discovered they do not accept Apple Pay and I only had $100 bill which I didn't know they couldn't except either. But without asking the cashier, Ben Rodriguez paid for my ice cream for me! Wow!! and told me that we were good to go.
