We arrived at the same time two ladies came in that clearly either owned the shop or was hired to make social media content for the shop. And boy oh boy did they stink. So. Much. Perfume. It filled the place with smell and it was thick. It was awful. Anyways we ordered three - two with ice cream and one with the cream. All were very good. Only complaint was that it took at least 15 minutes (or more) for them to make them. I can't imagine coming here when it is busy. Also didn't like the political flags they had in the business. This review is long overdue as I've been to this location a couple of times in the last few years. Recently, I took my boyfriend to try as he was in town. The staff is always incredibly friendly and offered suggestions. We were intrigued by their nacho dish as I'm known to make a mess with their regular chimney cones. lol. Date night didn't need to end in me wearing half the treat. Thankfully, these were a little easier to eat! We came for him to experience, so I had a few bites but let him eat most of it. After looking over the menu, I decided that I wanted to go with the dessert nachos, which is a cinnamon sugar covered chimney cone cut into pieces and I asked for it "Barcelona style", which means it comes with whipped cream, soft serve vanilla ice cream, and strawberry pieces and chocolate drizzle, but since I'm not a chocolate fan, I did substitute that for caramel drizzle. Will never know if the product was good or not but the waiting area was full of angry customers with their arms folded. My bf had the blueberry cheesecake which I tried and that was also tasty. My son tried the Oreo cheesecake. I didn't try his but he said it tasted like peaches and nothing like Oreo. I learned about Chimney Cakes when preparing for a trip to Europe that got canceled due to COVID, but thanks to AZ Chimney Cakes, the wait is over and it was worth it! I am a self-professed dessert queen and this was a surprise. While they traditionally come without anything inside, these can have ice cream or cream fillings which I would think it would need. But, after eating the ice cream out of the shell, I was shockingly surprised at how amazing the shell was all by itself! Crunchy and sweet on the outside and yet chewy on the inside. They're made fresh, so they take a little time, but totally worth it and they're WARM! The service was friendly and helpful too. I can't wait to come back and bring my hubby and some friends.
