This ice cream shop had the most fun variety in flavors I have ever been to. Not only was the service so kind and patient but the ice cream was phenomenal. I choose a homemade waffle bowl. The olive oil ice cream was outstanding. Creamy; not overpowering sweet nor to savory. Just perfectly balanced. I added a scoop of strawberry coconut water gelato to make it exceptional. This company is from Oregon. I loved the vibe.

They have the most strangest yet unique flavors of ice cream I've ever had! There has to be some science behind these flavor pairings because they have flavors I would never think to get but taste so amazing! The workers were so nice and let us know that they offer unlimited samples. My favorites during this visit were pineapple updside down cake, coffe & love nuts, and salted, malted, chocolate chip cookie dough.

A chain ice cream shop like this is always going to be good. With flavors coming out every month, it's hard not to get something. Especially for the non-dairy people like myself, they always have options! The workers are also friendly and they work fast no matter how long the line is. They have limited tables, but the surrounding area has plenty of seating.

We stopped by the new Salt & Straw at Epicenter and were blown away by the staff. Even with the usual long lines you find here, the team was incredibly friendly, patient, and welcoming. We grabbed three pints to go--the seasonal pumpkin tiramisu and bananas fosters flavors as well as a classic, pear and blue cheese. (Sorry, I forgot the actual names.) They were all amazing and our family polished off all three pints by the end of the night.

I've been to this location a couple times now and every experience is great. I love that they never make me feel bad for trying different flavors. I love trying their new monthly flavors because they are always crazy and adventurous! I order the Peanut butter brittle in a waffle bowl and it was great. The second time I came in I order the honey lavender. The peanut brittle was my favorite out of the two! It's super cute inside, I just wish they had some seating inside but they do have outdoor seating.

Salt & Straw is hands down my favorite ice cream place. It's more affordable than some I've gone to in the past and has such a creative and upscale feel! Their seasonal menus are so much fun to sample + choose from. I especially love the employees and the information they have about how the ice cream is made or fun tidbits about the inspiration behind the flavor. The only downside is this place is so popular that going during the evenings or weekends is guaranteed to have a line. Great for them, bummer for me! They do blow through it pretty quick though.

My love and appreciation for Salt & Straw is un-cone-ditional. If you're craving thoughtfully crafted, delicious ice cream, Salt & Straw is the place to go. I first discovered them in San Diego, so they'll always hold a special place in my heart. While they may not always be the most out-there with their flavors, what they do offer is consistently well-balanced creations. Whether they include blue cheese, goat cheese, or olive oil, nothing ever feels overwhelming or gimmicky. Most recently, I tried the huckleberry cornbread pudding. It was tart, tangy, and the perfect treat to wrap up a warm summer day. Salt & Straw is a beloved favorite for a reason, and their spot in the Epicenter is a welcome addition.

A super unique and enjoyable experience. This makes an ice cream shop feel like an event. The flavors are intriguing. As a person who likes classic things I ended up with a single mixing vanilla and chocolate brownie and it was so good!

The ice cream was good. I didn't get pictures of it though! I took home a pint of chocolate brownie and vanilla and the family loved it!

The service has been good here my last few visits. The employees are friendly and patient when asking for samples. The flavors are sometimes questionable but for the most part they are yummy. They have a few tables outside!

Nothing better than ice cream from this craft ice cream store on a hot day. I've been a huge fan for a very long time as they have the most exquisite combinations and flavors. Love that they actually encourage customers to sample as much as they want. I had a couple samples of their limited edition flavors- oiishi strawberry pretzel salad, and goat cheese marion berry habanero (really pleasant spice). Ended up choosing peanut butter brittle caramel fudge (vegan) in a waffle cup and it was delish. I absolutely love their light and slightly sweet homemade waffle cones. Hubby got a waffle cup of chocolate gooey brownie and he loved it as well. They also have merchandise for sale and you can also buy pints of ice cream. There are a few tables outside to enjoy your treats but we decided to eat our ice cream in our air conditioned car:)

It's a new month, new limited editions flavors, so I had to stop by to try the Farmers Market series. It includes two vegan options - Peach Jam Miso Blondie and Pickled Cucumber Sorbet. I asked to try all of the new flavors, but forgot to say not the pickled one because I do not like pickles. When the server handed me the sample, I tried it anyway - bad idea. Definitely not for me! Melon & Prosciutto was okay until I bit into a piece of chewy prosciutto. I like prosciutto but not in this ice cream. I was surprised with the Tomato Gelato with Olive Brittle. It was not bad, though I wouldn't order it. It's creamy and I liked the added crunch! Chocolate Chip Zucchini Bread was decadent as described, and the server said it's the most popular limited edition flavor right now. I ended up getting a kids scoop of the Peach Jam Miso Blondie. Aside from the monthly series, they released a new permanent flavor - Hazelnut Cookies & Cream - and it's vegan! The taste gave me like Ferrero Rocher vibes but not as decadent. I want to go back and get a scoop of this! Tip: Download the Salt & Straw app, sign up for their rewards program, and get a free waffle cone! You can link a credit card to earn points automatically, or scan your receipt.

Have literally been to every location in California. When someone told me there was one in AZ, I dropped what I was doing, grabbed a cooler, and drove an hour to get here! How did I not know?! Great location in a trendy plaza. Arrived at 8pm on a Saturday and it was BUSY (just like other locations). Line was out the door. Drooled while I was admiring their menu and specialty flavors. Ended up picking Strawberry Rhubarb with Toasted Anise. Absolutely loved the flavor. For the long haul, I bought every carton of Sea Salt with Caramel Ribbons they had left in the freezer lol. Great service, great ice cream. Do yourself a favor and reward yourself with this place!

What I like about creamistry is that you can basically make any ice cream base vegan. Since they use the liquid nitrogen thing, you can have ice cream that tastes pretty close to the real thing. Two thumbs up. It's a tiny place with like only 5 tables, but it's cool to watch the liquid nitrogen process, especially for little ones who get excited by the excess gas flowing out and making it seem like they have smoke machines on their ice cream machines. Lots of options for flavors and toppings, so you'll find something for everyone here, including those croffles (waffle ice cream, but I have not tried nor have seen anyone else try). It's a bit pricey, but you pay for the experience. I've paid more for a lot more mediocre ice cream (that wasn't vegan) so ultimately I think this is a good place. TLDR; vegans rejoice--we have ice cream!

Scoop, scoop, hooray! I'm the 400th review for this business on Yelp…read more Since trying Handel's at previous Yelp events, I've had on my radar to try at one of their locations. Especially since my boyfriend loves ice cream. Today we made a lunch date when he was visiting town, complete with ice cream to cool us down on this warm July day in Arizona. We opted to eat in my car with air conditioning, though they have bench seating outside. In cooler months, I'm sure that seating is nice to sit at to enjoy your treat. What We Ordered: - Monkey Business scoop in a dipped waffle bowl: My boyfriend throughly enjoyed and said it was very banana forward; which is a plus for him. I personally hate banana, so he had something for once that I didn't take a girlfriend bite out of. - S'mores scoop in a dipped waffle bowl: Very interesting to have the base be graham cracker, but I really enjoyed. Love the little chocolate bits to add a crunch as you eat, though the mini marshmallows have a weird texture to me. Still a solid scoop, and I'll try other flavors when we return. Definitely looking forward to the location opening on Signal Butte, but glad we didn't wait until that opened to try. Delicious and I'm sure I'll visit the new location opening by my house.

First, the location itself is very small and cramped inside, and there isn't any outdoor seating, which made it difficult to enjoy our ice cream. The biggest disappointment here was the customer service. My friend ordered a milkshake for her two toddlers to share and politely asked if the extra half could be poured into a second cup. The employee had to ask the manager, who immediately said no. My friend explained that other Handel's locations have happily done this before, and even offered to pay for the extra cup. The manager still refused and told her she'd have to purchase two separate milkshakes instead. The request wasn't for extra product--just a second cup for two small children to share. What made the experience worse was the manager's attitude. She came across as rude and dismissive rather than trying to help find a reasonable solution. We understand that every location has its own policies, but customer service goes a long way. Unfortunately, between the cramped space and the poor experience with the manager, we won't be returning to this location.

But there is a serious problem that has been going on for years: the overwhelming sewer smell inside the shop. It's incredibly strong and makes the experience really unpleasant. From what I understand, the store owners have tried to address it, but it seems to be a larger issue related to the Santan Village property. The gelato is so good that people still come in and power through the smell just to get it, which says a lot about how great the product is. But it shouldn't have to be that way. Someone at the property management level really needs to fix whatever plumbing or sewer issue is causing this.
