They have the most strangest yet unique flavors of ice cream I've ever had! There has to be some science behind these flavor pairings because they have flavors I would never think to get but taste so amazing! The workers were so nice and let us know that they offer unlimited samples. My favorites during this visit were pineapple updside down cake, coffe & love nuts, and salted, malted, chocolate chip cookie dough.

A chain ice cream shop like this is always going to be good. With flavors coming out every month, it's hard not to get something. Especially for the non-dairy people like myself, they always have options! The workers are also friendly and they work fast no matter how long the line is. They have limited tables, but the surrounding area has plenty of seating.

We stopped by the new Salt & Straw at Epicenter and were blown away by the staff. Even with the usual long lines you find here, the team was incredibly friendly, patient, and welcoming. We grabbed three pints to go--the seasonal pumpkin tiramisu and bananas fosters flavors as well as a classic, pear and blue cheese. (Sorry, I forgot the actual names.) They were all amazing and our family polished off all three pints by the end of the night.

I've been to this location a couple times now and every experience is great. I love that they never make me feel bad for trying different flavors. I love trying their new monthly flavors because they are always crazy and adventurous! I order the Peanut butter brittle in a waffle bowl and it was great. The second time I came in I order the honey lavender. The peanut brittle was my favorite out of the two! It's super cute inside, I just wish they had some seating inside but they do have outdoor seating.

A super unique and enjoyable experience. This makes an ice cream shop feel like an event. The flavors are intriguing. As a person who likes classic things I ended up with a single mixing vanilla and chocolate brownie and it was so good!

The ice cream was good. I didn't get pictures of it though! I took home a pint of chocolate brownie and vanilla and the family loved it!

The service has been good here my last few visits. The employees are friendly and patient when asking for samples. The flavors are sometimes questionable but for the most part they are yummy. They have a few tables outside!

Salt & Straw is hands down my favorite ice cream place. It's more affordable than some I've gone to in the past and has such a creative and upscale feel! Their seasonal menus are so much fun to sample + choose from. I especially love the employees and the information they have about how the ice cream is made or fun tidbits about the inspiration behind the flavor. The only downside is this place is so popular that going during the evenings or weekends is guaranteed to have a line. Great for them, bummer for me! They do blow through it pretty quick though.

My love and appreciation for Salt & Straw is un-cone-ditional. If you're craving thoughtfully crafted, delicious ice cream, Salt & Straw is the place to go. I first discovered them in San Diego, so they'll always hold a special place in my heart. While they may not always be the most out-there with their flavors, what they do offer is consistently well-balanced creations. Whether they include blue cheese, goat cheese, or olive oil, nothing ever feels overwhelming or gimmicky. Most recently, I tried the huckleberry cornbread pudding. It was tart, tangy, and the perfect treat to wrap up a warm summer day. Salt & Straw is a beloved favorite for a reason, and their spot in the Epicenter is a welcome addition.

I'd been to Salt & Straw in other states so when I saw we finally had one in AZ, I was so excited!!! I love trying the fun, unique flavors!! My brother can be a bit picky with his reviews but he actually loved the snickerdoodle ice cream he got here so we get that every time he comes to visit! I appreciate how sweet the staff always is and that they let us try flavors without judging me for my indecisiveness I love the area as well!

Nothing better than ice cream from this craft ice cream store on a hot day. I've been a huge fan for a very long time as they have the most exquisite combinations and flavors. Love that they actually encourage customers to sample as much as they want. I had a couple samples of their limited edition flavors- oiishi strawberry pretzel salad, and goat cheese marion berry habanero (really pleasant spice). Ended up choosing peanut butter brittle caramel fudge (vegan) in a waffle cup and it was delish. I absolutely love their light and slightly sweet homemade waffle cones. Hubby got a waffle cup of chocolate gooey brownie and he loved it as well. They also have merchandise for sale and you can also buy pints of ice cream. There are a few tables outside to enjoy your treats but we decided to eat our ice cream in our air conditioned car:)

It's a new month, new limited editions flavors, so I had to stop by to try the Farmers Market series. It includes two vegan options - Peach Jam Miso Blondie and Pickled Cucumber Sorbet. I asked to try all of the new flavors, but forgot to say not the pickled one because I do not like pickles. When the server handed me the sample, I tried it anyway - bad idea. Definitely not for me! Melon & Prosciutto was okay until I bit into a piece of chewy prosciutto. I like prosciutto but not in this ice cream. I was surprised with the Tomato Gelato with Olive Brittle. It was not bad, though I wouldn't order it. It's creamy and I liked the added crunch! Chocolate Chip Zucchini Bread was decadent as described, and the server said it's the most popular limited edition flavor right now. I ended up getting a kids scoop of the Peach Jam Miso Blondie. Aside from the monthly series, they released a new permanent flavor - Hazelnut Cookies & Cream - and it's vegan! The taste gave me like Ferrero Rocher vibes but not as decadent. I want to go back and get a scoop of this! Tip: Download the Salt & Straw app, sign up for their rewards program, and get a free waffle cone! Definitely was wanting ice cream. Many yummy flavors to choose from. They have several sugar cones & waffle cone sizes. Did a medium chocolate & peanut dipped waffle cone with Butter Pecan & Cookie Dough. Delicious, creamy, smooth & velvety. Lots of chunks of pecan & cookie dough throughout as well. Making fresh hand made ice cream daily! Tons of options from milk shakes, banana splits, sundaes, brownie sundaes, hurricanes, ice cream sandwiches, Handel pops, frozen dipped bananas to "of course" their ice cream! They rotate daily flavors to feature local favorites & seasonal specialties year round. The history & story of this business started back in 1945. Can just see Mrs. Handel's at her husband's gas station window selling her ice cream with fresh strawberries from her garden. Ohio born business that's expanded to over 175 locations in 20 states should say something about growth in churning & not changing the recipe of quality homemade goodness. Note-Handel's has a secret menu. Can vary by location, but if you google their website; check to see what specific off-menu items they are promoting! Offer Pint Perks & Deals plus sorbets & gluten free sorbets. *In response to the business owner: I stated varies by location & mentioned to google it (as you may want to as well). It does exist, so whether it's a new trend or its locations creating their own signature blends-it's definitely out there! Instagram features a few also..* Only downside: Nearly almost $20 for two medium waffle cones. Get that they stack it generously, but that's steep! Ice cream can melt quick, so get a lot of napkins & you gotta eat it fast. Not much seating outside and non indoors. Saw many LARGE active cockroaches on the concrete around ALL of the retail businesses. *In response to the business owner that went from 4 to 3 stars. We were having our ice cream on one of the very "few" outdoor business benches & clearly know what we saw/experienced while trying to enjoy our ice cream cones! Could be a possibility about the "creatures" you spoke of (that generally migrate around aquatic areas). However, they would have been mixed in with the crickets & yes many different sized cockroaches too! I do not appreciate the dismissive reply & with that- we will not be returning to this location.

After having some dinner down the street, I came across Churn and knew I needed to come and check this place out. It had a sweet cream base. My sister and I shared a triple scoop for only $7 and satisfied the both of us. The interior is pretty small, but there's at least patio seating in the back and a bench out front. From what I understand, the store owners have tried to address it, but it seems to be a larger issue related to the Santan Village property. The gelato is so good that people still come in and power through the smell just to get it, which says a lot about how great the product is. But it shouldn't have to be that way.
