I found Shara on the Cezanne website as a trained provider, so I was surprised days later when I washed my hair for the first time and saw the treatment had failed. Cezanne is a keratin treatment which is supposed to remove frizz, but I had tons of frizz - see my attached photo. I'd paid $300 for this treatment. When I explained to Shara that it had failed, he texted me offering a "re-do" for $150. Later he texted again, offering it for $200. That switch was pretty confusing, but it didn't matter because there was no way I would pay anything like that. Usually in life when we pay for something, we get what we paid for. Otherwise, we get a refund, or it's redone correctly for free, right? That's how commerce normally works. Yes, the Cezanne product would cost him money, absolutely. But why not take that money out of the healthy profit he had made from my original $300? Needless to say, I did not get the redo. The company Cezanne was not very helpful, but I learned from them why their treatments do sometimes fail. Apparently either Shara rinsed off too much of the product in the rinsing stage, or he did not go high enough in temperature with the flat iron, or both. In any case, the failure was due to his judgement calls. I imagine Shara has learned from this mistake, but I'm upset that I had to pay for that. If I had more time on my hands I'd probably take him to small claims court. This feels like robbery, as he took hundreds of dollars of my money and I got absolutely nothing. Just taken advantage of. Not to mention, he wasted hours of my time in the treatment. I also should mention I went in for a consult about 4 days before doing the treatment. He gave me a verbal quote of $275 at the consult. On the day of the treatment he charged $300, seemingly forgetting the verbal quote completely. He also said that the $300 figure was in the "confirmation text" along with the time, date, address, etc of the appointment. I looked and I saw that indeed it was in there, he was right about that! Only, too bad for me I thought the price had been clear at the consult, and I had barely glanced at that text. So, I paid the $300 (plus tip) for what we know now would be a total waste of money. I hope that was just a forgetful and innocent mistake on his part, and maybe it was. Or, it could have been a bait-and-switch. I don't know. I liked Shara before this got messy, so I hope it was a mistake. But, if you go to him, be careful with quotes. If you get a quote, make sure something different isn't in the confirmation text. I will say I liked his blowout work, and I wouldn't be surprised if he is great with other hair skills, but he failed with my keratin treatment, and the way he handled it after was not classy or kind. I hope he becomes more compassionate and reasonable if this kind of situation happens again. read more

Came in initially to check the salon out and see if they had any ideas on how to fix the stripey baby lights I had going on (bleh!). Was greeted by Shar, who was lovely and totally welcoming. He gave me all of these ideas and made me feel like he understood what I wanted. I booked an appointment, and was ECSTATIC with my results! I'm the client that has an idea of what I want, but will ask "what do you think I should do, or what would look best on me?" If you're at all like this, or just would like a guy to change up your style and get a little refresher, this place is the place and Shar is you guy! Shara knew how to handle my frizzy curly hair even when I requested for a shorter length and to keep my bangs. I've been coming to this salon for over 5 years and I can tell you that Shara, the owner just keeps getting better and better at his skills and craft. He is passionate about hair and takes his time to get things just right. I especially find him to be an excellent colorist; matches what my natural color was before the gray set in with all the rich tones of natural hair color and he uses quality products. Every 6 months or so, I get a Cezanne treatment which gives me frizz free, care-free hair. I literally get out of the shower, comb my hair and let it air dry. Of course, you can take the time to style it but I don't find it necessary. I go from the gym to work in no time and what a convenience not to use a hair dryer all summer. read more

Great, great service. I got a women's haircut with Shara, and called back a few days after because I wanted more layering. Shara graciously told me to come in and he'd correct it for free. I ended up not taking him up on it because the cut ended up working out just fine.
