Giving four stars because it was a nice chill experience. This is a small salon along Colorado Ave in Glendale run by only one person whose name is Sonny. It looks like a house from the outside. Not sure about the parking since I was dropped off. I called ahead of time because I get off work around 6. Sonny closes the Salon at 7pm so I came in around 5pm to 5:30. I guess she has a lot of local and loyal Korean clients so when I went in, there were two people ahead of me. Waiting was fine, lots of magazines to wait with. I think if you ask her, you can also wait by the TV area with couches like a mother and kid did while they were waiting for me to finish. I got my hair colored for $80. I think it's the normal color price but my hair is really long so it seems that this is already a good price to me. My color was great too, despite the fact that I have two shades on my hair--one really light and one almost black. The resulting color wasn't completely even and I appreciated how she saw the uneven shading and recommended what to do about it. Sonny isn't all comfortable speaking English though she tries her best. It was okay for me since I could speak Korean too. But she will always try to make you comfortable even with slightly awkward silences. She works really efficiently too so it's a good place for a quick cut or treatment. I don't know how a lot of people like this salon considering Mina is rude as hell. She was yelling at me only because she clearly didn't know how to do actual straightening. She was stating that due to my hair being dyed, I couldn't go through with the straightening process. I've gotten that treatment done over 3 times and other salons have always said it was okay, you can search it up too. Mina doesn't know what she's doing and she called me a liar saying I dyed my hair months ago.. I haven't dyed my hair since last winter, I think I would know that MYSELF fair and clear. Oh on top of that, this is my second time going to her after two weeks because the first time I went she did my hair incorrectly, and told me to come back today. Which I did, and she left me with only the top of my hair straightened. She didn't do any of the bottom or ends due to it "damaging" my hair.. which was an excuse she has no idea what she's even doing. I've never had a problem with anyone doing straightening treatment on me until her. Don't go here unless you wanna waste $250 and she's lucky I was nice enough to not ask for a full refund after she fucked up my hair TWICE. I got introduced to this place from my cousin when he got his hair done back in 2007, but I finally had the nerve to get my haircut in 2014 and I haven't looked back ever since. During my last visit here via walk-in, I needed my hair to get pretty for my friend's wedding so I ended up coming to Colorado Beauty Salon and was able to find parking at the street in front of the place, which is a house by the way. Upon entering, I was greeted by a friendly hello and a smile from Sunny and waited for about ten minutes while she was finishing up with another customer. While waiting, there were many magazines to choose from for reading and entertainment. When it was my turn, I asked her to do something to my hair for the wedding and she recommended a big wave, which turned out to be really pretty and affordable for $35! Been coming to this salon for a few years and it never disappoints! I've been getting my hair done way back when Sunny used to be here (I miss her). I went to get my hair re-layered today cuz it was outgrowing and I love the result!! Mina did such a great job! She's very professional and knows what she's doing. Love how she washed my hair first before she started cutting and it's good that she asks you about final touches before finalizing the look you want. Like she actually listened to my request and I think that's very important because in the end of the day you are paying for a look you specifically want and sometimes it's hard to ask a stylist to fix a certain aspect on your style because I mean of course the stylist knows best and their suggestions is of course more reasonable and sometimes would want you to have the look their way instead of what you want. But then again you want to be satisfied and pay for what YOU want. And I am glad Mina gave me that opportunity to take a little control of how I wanted my hair to be. This is my go to hair salon. Not only is the price reasonable, but I also love the work that the unnie that runs this establishment (Sunny) does. She does amazing magic straight on my hair. I have experienced first-hand so many nightmare stories with magic straight. I have natural curly hair, and by some wicked twist of faith (aside from having natural curly hair for an asian), my right side (especially front) is curlier than the left. This also means that magic straight does not "take" as well on my right side. This cursed fate has always left me with two options: have half of my hair semi curly or have my entire hair fried. All of this changed when I came to Sunny. My magic actually stays on and even though my hair still grows curlier on my right side, it is easily fixable with a flat iron. My hair is not completely fried after the ordeal (a really big deal if you do magic as often as I do). Furthermore, she takes your input when cutting/coloring hair as well as give her own professional advice. When my fiancée came to get his hair cut, we explained that he hates styling it every morning so we need a low maintenance hair. She did a great job and his hairstyle looks very clean. I always recommend this place to my friends and family. FYI: there is only one hair stylist here, so there might be a wait time.
