I went to a different clinic prior to coming here because of a pain I was having, which I KNEW had to be from some worn out filling or worse, nerve affecting problem. I really do appreciate Angel Dental Group (AGD) and have been coming here for years. Years back, I use to be under my parents' dental coverage/insurance and it was incredible, so they really set the bar and my standards for what was and is a great dentist and facility. Afterwards, I had to look for a dentist and I went to so many and it was very hard to find a good dentist to be perfectly honest. The best way for me at the time was through Yelp and that's how I found Angel Dental. There were so many that were dirty and caused me to get an infection that required antibiotics when they did my cleaning! However, once I started coming to ADG, I was impressed by how clean the facilities and machines are and how great the service was/is. There is a machine that cleans the air, which made me feel comfortable, especially during these crazy pandemic times. I have been very happy with my experience that I even recommended my parents to come. And now my whole family comes to Angel Dental Group! Overall, it really does depend if one has Dental insurance or not. I initially had HMO, but honestly, I very much prefer to have PPO, which ADG accepts. I found Angel Dental via a rec of a friend who goes here. So glad I tried it out! I called to make an appointment for what I wanted and the day before your appointment, the office calls to confirm your appointment. I believe there's a fee if you cancel less than 24 hours before your appointment. What I love most about this office is that the staff here are professional and kind. I had such good interactions with the X-rayer Louis, Michelle at the front desk (She's awesome!!), Gabby who was operating the saliva sucker, Margaery who helped out with that the second time, Susie who did my deep clean, and Kent who did my crown. I'm a very curious person and they were super down to answer all my questions and explain what they were doing as they were doing it. My first visit I got to talk extensively with Dr. Kent about his background and how long the office has been here. About 20 years! Beyond trusting him with my teeth, I feel like he'd be an awesome person to grab a drink with. I've come for a total of 3 visits now where I got X-rays, a crown, deep cleaning, and multiple cavity fillings. They made sure it was painless and a good experience, especially as a person who hasn't gone to the dentist in a while... . I think the most important thing for having a good experience is being able to communicate when something is uncomfortable, and they're good with noticing my hand signals for wanting to communicate. The office is tucked away on the intersection of Vermont and Wilshire, super accessible via public transportation. They also have parking validation. Looks small from outside, but there a good number of rooms on the inside! I had some reservations about going to the dentist during Covid, but they do take precautions. Every time I've gone here, there were at most 2 other people in the waiting room. There are hand sanitizer pumps spread throughout and they have sanitized pens for any paperwork. Of course, all staff are masked. Will definitely be recommending Angel Dental to my other friends in Koreatown, especially for my friends who have older relatives that only speak Korean. read more

Dr Huang is the real deal. I had an unfortunate accident that ended with a knocked out front tooth. My smile is so much of my confidence with every interaction and I was so frustrated trying to find a doctor that i actually trusted. After several visits to others in the area, I was seriously losing hope. Prices at these places were crazy and the whole process seemed overwhelming and I felt like I was going to have to start getting used to the hillbilly look. Came in here through a recommendation from a family member. Dr. Kim and the staff were very patient with my teeth concerns and questions. You could tell from the x-rays to teeth cleaning/care that they were very attentive (especially since I have sensitive teeth). It helps that they have accommodating hours-open on Saturdays. First of all in terms of cleanliness it is very good. Next staffs, dentist are all kind, respectful and makes you feel comfortable. I am very picky in terms of doctors and dentists but the dentist here explains everything thoroughly, patient care is excellent, very knowledgeable and proffesional. She would really explain things and entertains questions without making you feel uncomfortable. This is my first time here and I was e referred by my friend, and I will definitely come back here. And oh I forgot about Cristine or Cristina, the one on the front desk, she is very helpful, professional and nice as well. I was looking for a dentist in my area and I found this one on google. I then called them to try and make an appointment, no one picked up. I tried calling again, again no pick up just silence for 2 minutes. I call them a third time and a guy answers and says "HELLO!", I say "uh hi im trying to make an appointment", the guys answers "WHY DO YOU KEEP CALLING??!", and I'm like "to make an appointment??", immediately I can tell the guy is mad on the phone even though how else am I supposed to make an appointment?? So I hang up and decide to take my business elsewhere. Keep in mind this was at 1:30pm and during business hours. Anyway if I were you I would not bring your business here. If they are that rude when I'm literally just trying to make an appointment, (as I feel bad just walking in) than I can only imagine how rude they are in person. I have been to many dentists before coming to Dr. Kent Hwang, and he's by far the absolute best. Not only is he super friendly and proactive in discussing procedures/concerns at length until you're comfortable, he's very precise, careful and knowledgeable in procedures and takes utmost care to ensure it is as painless as possible. Not only that, he pays great attention to how it looks afterwards to make sure that it not only is the best quality work, but also looks great. The entire staff at Angel Dental group is extremely friendly and welcoming - in the 10+ years since I've been going to both locations (Torrance and LA), I have never had anything but an amazing and smooth experience. I'm a huge wuss for pain and was always terrified of the dentist, but Dr. Kent and Angel Dental Group has completely changed my perspective and erased my fears. For the record, I've had multiple, many procedures done with Dr. Kent (he's redone and perfectly repaired a bad root canal job done by a previous horrible dentist, cavities, deep cleaning, crowns, onlays -- I have bad teeth sorry), and they've all been very easy, surprisingly painless and smooth with no problems afterwards. They are so friendly and sweet. I've never felt such a warm reception at a medical office in my life. Like they even took the time to put up a welcome sign for my first visit. Dr. Hong was super friendly and explained every procedure and asked great questions. I had to get fillings and usually always experience pain or issues during the procedure but because they listened and trusted my input I had a 100% pain free treatment AND left the dental office happy! The hygienist was also a Dream come true! I had to get a deep clean and she was very gentle, kind, and would explain every thing and also was very receptive to questions. I don't know what the criteria would be to review a dentist's office, but I've been coming here for 3 years now and will keep coming. I recently lost PPO dental insurance (happy 26th birthday!) and I opted to just pay out of pocket for my exam and cleaning instead of finding another office because I know I can trust them to treat me well. I never felt overcharged or forced to pay for any unnecessary treatment. All the staff members are great and the receptionists are all super nice and helpful (Special shoutout to Cristina). Can't be easy managing and scheduling all the patients They take most PPO dental plans so if they take your insurance I def recommend them. The office is clean, staff is nice, they do a good job, AND there's ample parking--really all you can ask for. read more

They are just ok. I've been to many dental offices and this one just doesn't provide a level of service that keeps you coming back. First the front desk staff are not bad but they never return your call. I literally called 3 times to check on my insurance claim and they always said they would return my call each time. Never received a call. The dentist is just ok. They're kind of cold and don't give off much warmth. There is no basic courtesy like "how are you" or "thank you, have a good day". Maybe I expect too much? But for me I like my dentist to offer some courtesy and level service. Since most dental procedures are a pain it's nice when you can get some personality or warmth from You dentist. The one I had just did her job and left didn't say a thing. Won't be back. read more

Only if there was an option of giving a zero star I would totally do that. One of the front desk receptionists, regret for not getting her name, but she was the rudest I've ever dealt with today. I called to reschedule my appointment because my lip ripped and I didn't want my lip wound to get infected after dentist visit. She told me that they will charge $25 for cancelling because they have that 24hr cancellation policy. I told her I am not aware of that because no one told me when I made my initial appointment. She says they have a sign at the dentist... I told her I've never been inside because I'm a new client and then she tells me to call back later to reschedule. I told her, why would I call back later when I'm already on the phone with them now to reschedule. And then she literally SIGHS over the phone all loud like she's annoyed and tells me to hold on.. PURE RUDE! I don't know who she is but wish I got her name so everyone reading this would know and be aware of this disrespectful receptionist. I Totally understand their business and that they could've taken another client, but what can I do if my lip ripped last minute. Clients are not obligated to pay any fees if they were not informed in an advance of their policy. I'm just really upset at the fact that the receptionist who answered the phone today sighed at me for rescheduling. Dude, seriously don't show that annoyance to clients! That is so rude, and 100% she probably rolled her eyes too. It's unfortunate, but they just lost a client due to the poor customer service of their ill-mannered receptionist who hates her job by sighing over the phone when all I wanted was to reschedule due to my lip injury and was willing to truly show up once it was healed. But I explained to them that I was in pain and they took care of me. Everyone is super friendly. Great team work - They are quick, efficient, professional, kind, calm, caring. I was in and out of there within an hour. I thought I would only be able to get a consultation. They told me that I had a cavity in my wisdom tooth and suggested we got it removed. They found time to squeeze that procedure in and it was super smooth and affordable. They didn't try to sell me on other things which i appreciate. I loved ADG!!! I called in urgently because I had a fracture in my tooth which needed to be extracted ASAP before the holiday weekend rolled around. I was originally sent to a periodontist in Burbank that was so cold and lacked compassion. My original dentist of 20+ years told me to just get the tooth out so I called everyone and no docs available since it was the 4th of July weekend. However, ADG opened up their arms and squeezed me into their schedule for a tooth extraction and bone grafting. The entire team was so kind, sweet, and were simply compassionate. Came here for a small cavity, and deep cleaning. Staff is amazing - if you have insurance, they will make sure you know what your out of pocket costs are before committing to any procedures. MOST dental offices in Los Angeles do not do this! (which is an absolute shame) But these guys know how to get things done. This is also an extremely modern dental office - all of their equipment is pretty high tech. You have a giant TV in front of you so you can easily view your x-rays, notes together with the doctor without you even getting up from your seat. Not to mention Dr. Hwang and the hygenist are extremely skilled and fast w/ their work with quality precision. Overall, super satisfied. Would come here again for sure. read more

I came here yesterday for an emergency treatment. My crown popped out while I was eating some now and laters bummer! I went to them because they are right downstairs in the building I work in. Super convenient, right? They immediately took me in, once i registered and provided my dental insurance. They took an X-ray to make sure it was safe to put the crown back in place. Dr. Bae was such a professional and cool guy. He gave me treatment suggestions and walked me through his process and why he was doing it. I can totally appreciate that. If you're like me, the dentist is the last place you want to be, but when the process is simple and you can trust that they're doing a great job. It makes you want to come back. I had to have some wisdom teeth removed and I had some very stubborn teeth, but he was very personable and explained everything in detail and not once did he make me feel bad about my teeth which has been my experience with previous dentists.
