I am incredibly grateful to the Joeun Dental team -- this was the best dental experience of my life. The clinic is staffed by professional, honest, and genuinely caring people. I came in after an unfortunate fall, with a broken arm and two fractured front teeth. It was a deeply stressful situation both emotionally and physically (one tooth was half-exposed and still alive), and I was terrified about how such an injury could even be handled. But the moment I arrived, I felt I was in a safe and wonderful place. Every single staff member was exceptionally attentive and clearly an expert in their field. Dr. Chan treated me in the beginning, and later Dr. Tsang handled the complex work on my front tooth. I had root canal treatment, a filling, and eventually received beautifully crafted crowns. I felt no pain at all -- everything was done gently and with great care. The crowns are of outstanding quality (their crown designer is a genius!), and my smile now looks even better than it did before the accident. Dr. Tsang, Dr. Chan, the assistant Jenecia and others are remarkable professionals and empathetic people. Their support and small talks made the whole process easier for me emotionally. I am so grateful that I found Joeun Dental Group. I have had a fear of the dentist and even the thought of teeth and going to the dentist causes me extreme anxiety. This led to me avoiding going to the dentist for about 10 years but the time came when I finally decided I needed to overcome my fear and take responsibility for my dental health. I search endlessly on Reddit for competent, compassionate dentist with the patience to deal with someone like myself with extreme dental anxiety. Joeun Dental Group was recommended numerous times so I reached out to them and not only did they take medi-cal but they also had appointment available soon which was helpful since I'm moving very soon. Onto the care, it's phenomenal. I needed a crown and a few fillings and multiple visits, along with a cleaning. Dr. Tsang preformed my crown prep and it was a breeze. I had so much anxiety and I really appreciated his calm demeanor, he listened to my concerns sincerely, and was very generous with his time. This calmed me down and the procedure was a walk in the park. The fillings next week were a little tougher, two bigger ones, but still not bad and I survived. Now I'm here waiting to get my crown fitting today and one cavity. Between the two crown procedures I came in for a cleaning with Jane the hygienist who was just a calm and reassuring as Dr. Tsang. And the Dental Assistant would finished my cleaning was very gentle during my part I have the most which is the scaling, poking and prodding but it went just fine. They even gave me a free fluoride paste ($35 upgrade) for bringing my boyfriend along to get his dental work here. He's been experience a lot of pain and his procedures were much more open. I ask about letting him take my appoint a week earlier and they happily accommodated that request. When his pain got worse and the new appointment was still out the absolutely wonderful gem of a person, Caroline (such a sweet soul) managed to get my boyfriend back in in just 2 days to address his pain. This meant so much to us. Since Dr. Tsang was away on what I assume was a well-deserved vacation. My boyfriend was a little nervous to have someone new work on his teeth but he was just as amazing as Dr. Tsand and we were grateful they accommodated us and got us in so quickly. Unfortunately, Dr. Li noticed my boyfriend need a procedure with a specialist. He was understandably nervous about going to a new doctor he knew nothing about, but it was close by and they have immediate availability and those dentists were just as kind and considerate as Joeun Dental Group. Caroline was incredibly sweet when she saw my boyfriend's concern, giving my boyfriend a hug and making him feel much better. It was very touching. THESE PEOPLE CARE!! I'm now here for my 4th visit in probably 3 weeks. And I'm not as afraid anymore, I really not very anxious about coming here and I believe they are serious improving my dental anxiety and it's way down. And they take medical wihich covers fillings and they only do white filling which I prefer and usually are more expensive but are include at no charge if cover by your insurance, medi-cal no problem! And for things not covered like my crown, they offer Cherry financing for 12 months at 0% APR which is what I went with. VERY REASONABLE PRICING. I was so afraid I need my more woke done but luckily not too much was needed. I did inquire why my boyfriend (no issuance) charged for things that were free to me. Come to fin d out, I WAS suppose to pay for tooth build up or something else in the crown prodcedure and since it was discussed before, they just didn't charge me of that. They didn't mention it at check out to with me or something, instead I found out later they didn't include because it wasn't discussed so it was free. NOW THAT IS INTEGRITY, CONSIDERATE AND HONESTYL! Given the abundance of positive reviews, I began my treatment with high expectations. However, right from the initial insurance pre-authorization stage, my request was denied on the grounds that I had cavities--a diagnosis that simply did not align with my actual condition. The clinic staff told me they would resubmit the authorization request and asked me to personally call the insurance company a few days later to explain my situation. I went so far as to make that call--relaying their specific instructions to the insurer (namely, that the clinic would resubmit the request that week and that I should call back the following Monday--even using a Korean interpreter if necessary--to explain my situation and ask for approval). Yet, when I visited the clinic to confirm that I had conveyed this message, the staff member handling the claims bizarrely turned the tables on me, denying she had ever said such a thing and attempting to shift the blame onto me. The lie she told me today was so utterly absurd and offensive that I felt compelled to share my experience regarding their service practices across various online platforms. It became clear that the doctor's initial treatment plan was devised without any understanding of insurance regulations, and the administrative staff member had filed the claim arbitrarily--without properly communicating or understanding my actual symptoms--which is why it was rejected. Had they simply admitted that they had made a mistake, I could have understood and accepted it; however, their attitude of attempting to pin the responsibility on me is absolutely intolerable. The more I reflect on how they have toyed with people in this manner--presumably to accumulate all those positive reviews--the more indignant I feel. read more

From the moment I walked in, I felt genuinely cared for. Caroline, the office manager, went above and beyond every step of the way. WheN I showed up for a crown procedure, it was obvious I would need a root canal. I was in so much pain that Caroline somehow managed to get me a root canal scheduled for that same day with one of their trusted referral partners--who was also amazing, which goes to prove how special Joeun Dental is! Caroline really went above and beyond for me, and that kind of care is rare. Dr. Tsang and Dr. Li, too, were incredible--gentle, attentive, and clearly committed to making sure I was comfortable every step of the way. What really stood out is how much this team cares. When I mentioned I was still in pain between procedures, they managed to squeeze me in much sooner than originally scheduled--no weeks-long wait as oringally planned. Just real compassion and action. I'm usually hesitant of going to a new dentistry, since anything can contribute to a negative experience. However, Joeun made setting up an appointment easy as well as going through insurance. Caroline sets me up well, with any appointments that need to be changed if a dentist becomes unavailable that day. The staff is polite & gets me out the door. One thing is that like every dentistry, doctor's visits, etc, appointments can start a little bit later as things happen - other patients have questions, procedures go long, etc. Jane is very through with the cleanings and Dr. Li makes sure I'm aware of anything that needs to be known. Just updating my review to say Joeun is still the best and Dr. Chan deserves a special shout out. He did my recent cleaning and was very patient in listening to my concerns and advising me on the best next steps. He spent extra time reshaping my crown to help even out my bite that was going too hard on one side, something super helpful that could prevent me from needing to get a night guard. At one point during the cleaning he and the sweet person assisting applied vaseline because they observed my lips were drying out. Ok, spa treatment! Caroline is also still here and always holding things together with timely follow up on insurance questions and scheduling needs. I had a dental emergency and got recommended a couple of places while i was waiting for places to open up. Decided to check this place out first... but never got past the bureaucratic BS in the waiting room. If the front desk is indicative of how much they care about patients, I'm glad I didn't. I didn't call ahead because it being an emergency, I was in alot of pain. I went right when it opened. A woman yelled at me, "do you have an appointment?!" I tried saying i don't but i have an emergency. Before I could finish, she was talking over me saying you have to call to make an appointment. I was like okay... My bad i didn't know the procedure but since I'm here is there any way you can fit me in, cuz I'm in alot of pain? Again she yells at me "only appointments!" Then she LITERALLY POINTS TO THE FRONT DOOR (which is only a couple of feet away) and tells me to CALL FROM THERE. I don't why she couldn't just help me since I'm already there but ok, I'll play your game if it means getting help. I call from literally 2 feet away at the door and she sees her phone ringing then WALKS AWAY FROM THE PHONE! I was like WTF. At this point i was walking away. I ended up going to another dentist (ktown is filled with them apparently). I walked in to that one but instead of yelling at me like the receptionist at JOEUN or making me go through hoops, they KINDLY explained appointments are recommended due to COVlD but once they realized it was an emergency, they fit me in. I find out later on Yelp that KTOWN is filled with 5 star dental offices like the one I ended up at. ( I also find out later that Jo Eun advertises dental emergencies..go figure). Go to any of those other ones. I guarantee anywhere else will treat you with kindness that is lacking at Jo Eun. I do not recommend JO EUN... unless you want the front desk making you feel like a monkey going through hoops. read more

After a nightmarishly bad dental experience in Ktown, I was determined to find a caring, kind dentists office to switch to, and WOW does Joeun deliver! The staff could not be any kinder. Caroline at the front desk is so warm and helpful, the hygienist gave me a super gentle but thorough cleaning, and the dentist and assistant were extremely patient, informative, and kind. The equipment is all state of the art, everything is so modern and clean. I felt especially nervous about going during COVID-19 but they have a giant air purifier in the lobby, everyone is covered in PPE, and they aren't overcrowding with patients. I typically loathe going to the dentist - I've gotten shamed for not flossing enough, for having a slight overbite and trying to be upsold braces, and for other medical issues that impact my dental hygiene. Not here! The waiting area is small and pleasant, with jazz playing quietly. Korean-run dental practice, quiet, calm and civilized. Dr. Chan is INCREDIBLE. Warm, soothing bedside demeanor. Explained everything thoroughly to me during consultation. Previously I've been talked down to, and here, he provided simple, informative and agreed-upon treatment moving forward, frequently checking in to see if I had questions or comments. Cleaning - GENTLEST CLEANING EVER. I was prepared to have bloody gums and be squirming in my chair. Nope. Out in just under 40 minutes. Dr. Chan explained everything he was doing as he began, and checked in several times to see if I had any discomfort. Front desk staff were super helpful, patient, and welcoming. It almost makes me want to stay in Ktown a bit longer because it's walking distance from my place (they do have parking for which one can validate). ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND. read more
