We stumbled upon Angle Food at MSP, as their bakery case of various donuts looked pretty tasty - unfortunately, they didn't have much of the cookies or other pastries. The "Dough-Naparts" Croissant Donuts and the Blueberry Pie donuts looked tasty, and these yeast donuts were more on the larger size. Staff were friendly, and the place is bright and cheery. +go early for more selections +friendly service +located inside MSP

This shop is located on the E concourse of terminal 1. I stopped by at 5:30am and there was no line at all. The workers were pleasant. I ordered a cherry almond scone, and they asked if I wanted it warm. I said yes. As I ate it, I found that the middle was still cold, though; even more, there was a profound lack of cherries and almonds. I also got a chocolate chip cookie, which the sign said was top rated by the Star Tribune. The cookie was thoroughly excellent, very sweet, with discs of high quality chocolate. So, can't rec the scone, but the cookie deserves the hype.

I stopped at Angel Food Bakery to grab breakfast on my way to catch an early flight. This was my first time at MSP, so I wasn't sure what my food options were and I had passed up a few more crowded spots. I was happy to see a bright, inviting breakfast spot! This is very much a bakery. They had beautiful (and delicious) donuts, cupcakes, scones, juices and 2 breakfast sandwiches. I had the egg and cheese with sausage on a biscuit because it was the only thing on the menu offering a little protein to start the day. It was a nice texture and had good flavor, but was very greasy. The biscuit felt homemade, but not fresh. My impression was that it had been reheated so parts of it were a little hard and burned while others were soft and buttery. They have a very limited coffee selection, so if you need your flat white, or can't start your day without your latte know that you can't get any of that here. The staff was doing well at 430 am with a long line. They were patient and efficient keeping things moving. Moral of this story is that I would absolutely come back for a donut or baked good, but would likely look somewhere else for an actual breakfast and coffee.

I tried the glazed donut breakfast sandwich, and I'm glad I ordered breakfast. Our flight was delayed, so I went back and got a chocolate chip cookie. Apparently, they're the best according to the food editor for the Minneapolis Tribune! I'm no food critic, but my brother and I reminisced about all the frozen chocolate chip cookies Mom had frozen in the deep freezer for company. Only when company stopped by did she have empty Tupperware containers in the freezer. He said Mom always blamed him!

Stopped by to get some sweets before a light back home, they had a wide selection of donuts. I selected the Blueberry Pie , French Cruller and Dough Nuparts. The blueberry pie was soft and delicious, the crumb on top added a nice touch. I don't usually like blueberry was this was great. I also don't usually go for Crullers but i decided to give one a try and it was a great decision, the best Cruller I ever had. It was tasty and tended. The dough napart was a little disappointing, while it had a nice glaze, because is a take on a cronut. I expected some layers in the doughnut. Maybe if it was fresh , I would be nicer For the 3 donuts and one bottle of water I spent $23.

Coming off hungry and tired at MSP Airport and terminal E, I perked up at the sight of Angel Foods Bakery. The donuts and other products are eye catching! The first time I came, I got a young guy. I asked what was the best seller and he told me the two most expensive donuts listed. The French Crueller and the Croissant dough-naparts are $5.12 and $6.22 respectively. I opted for the salted caramel. I didn't taste the caramel, only sugar and the salt at certain bites overpowered the donut. I took some bites where it felt like a mouthful of salt. The good thing about the salt in other bites of the donut, was it balanced the sugar! The yeast raised donut was fluffy and fresh. I didn't like the credit charge machine where tips came up and there wasn't a no tip option. I only learned on my second and last trip here that you can hit the red button to cancel tip. The second trip brought me back to want to try the French Crueller but it wasn't meant to be! It wasn't made that day, so much for fan favorite! Instead I opted for the chocolate chip cookie that received rave reviews and a signage with kudos outside the store. I didn't taste the big flavors but chocolate was fine at $2.75 but lacking , it wasn't a big cookie, small in size and soft. I couldn't tell it was made with brown butter. Didn't taste the depth of brown butter. It was okay but nothing that I would remember.

    Bacon Biscuit Sandwich

Tried their biscuit sandwich today with bacon. So so very impressed with this coming from an airport cafe!! The bacon was crispy, eggs super fresh and light and super cheesy!! Would recommend 100%

Meh. Cute place. The options sound amazing. I had maple chocolate. The flavor was ok, nothing special and it definitely was not fresh. The grocery store has better donuts. Disappointing to spend $4+/donut for a stale donut

I didn't plan enough time to navigate MSP and grab a bite before heading to my gate at E1. Lucky for me, Angel Food was two gates away and ready with some sweet treats! Each option is more tempting than the last. Looking forward to flying in/out of E again!

What a sweet treat to start our father/daughter trip! We enjoyed Angelfood Bakery. There was no wait, plenty of drool-worthy options and impeccable service. While it's understood everything at the airport $$$, $5 for a donut seemed over the top. They were fresh, tasty and a fun treat for a special occasion.

I said, oh no, I drove all the way here for them, I ain't leavin, I'll wait. She hollered back to the cooks and asked how long on the donut holes and they said it would be about 10 to 15 minutes. I said I was fine with waiting and I picked out some donuts from the case. Listen. I get it. You want fresh donuts for everyone. You don't want customers waiting even though you have designated dine-in seating that I have seen made use of on a Sunday morning by the 60+ sect with copies of the day's newspaper available to them for reading. But I was nothing if not fully and totally amenable to the prospect of waiting. I drove out here, I used the gas, and frankly, it was all I wanted for my order. I came specifically for the donut holes and the extra donuts were for my bf. It's not to say he doesn't like them, he very much does but he can't get his mitts in fast enough to get them before I gobble them all down like some sort of baked goods hobbit goblin. My Precious(es). I like that the sugar glaze makes them crunch and you can taste the butter. They're light and airy and they make me happy. Anyways. I would like to note that the last time I put an order in ahead of time, it got lost in the shuffle and when I came to pick it up, it wasn't ready and instead of taking the risk and missing out, I just went to the shop and ordered them right there and I figured by doing so close enough to open, they'd have donut holes available. I didn't know they were essentially made to order but I presume since I arrived a half hour after they opened, they surely must have simply run out. To that end, I don't see how it would really matter all that much who buys them and how much of them are bought considering you're still getting paid, whether it's my money or Burt's, our cash is still the same shade of green and still fits the same way in your register. So time ticks on, I'm waiting, another lady purposefully walks in and walks around the counter with all the authority and lateness I would expect from a managerial type. I couldn't make out all of what was said but I did hear, ".....No. She's waiting on a dozen donut holes..." So then I got concerned bc I thought they were gonna cheap me out and only give me a dozen when I paid for 2 so when I got my donut holes I asked for another dozen. The manager possibly owner type takes my box and puts another dozen in. I ask if that makes 3 dozen and she said, "I actually put more than that in there." All of what I'm recounting to you should ultimately be what one might consider a 5 star review but I can't bring myself to do it. I don't know what is going on with customer service in general but I blame the cost of living crisis. It's pushed a bunch of ppl who have no business interacting with customers into jobs where they have to interact with customers and they are doing a horrible job if it. It's not rocket science. Customer service has the easiest formula on earth: 10 foot rule; you see a customer w/in 10ft of you, you say hello and ask them if you can help them with anything. They give you their order You say: Great choice, but it's gonna be about 10 to 15 minutes, are you okay with waiting for the best donuts in the twin cities? Customer says yes. You: Sounds good. Here's a newspaper if you want something to read. End of interaction until you hand me my order. Very simple. What you don't do is try and talk me out of giving you my money. And when I try to give you MORE of my money, you don't respond like I just told you your cat has cancer. You just give me my f*cking donuts and you smile and we f*ck off until I see you again when I want a lard and carbo bomb in 7 months man. Why is this such a difficult concept? I'm not even asking you to be fake nice to be but don't try and weird me out of buying your sh*t. What's the point then? Alternately, when the elderly ladies are working, placing an order has them diving for donuts like they're dodging a Blitzkrieg. It's very unnecessarily chaotic. I would be okay with changing my review if they maybe take it down a notch but I doubt they will.

My husband and I loved how lightly sweetened both the cream and the dough were. My tween was a little indifferent and would've preferred something non-cream filled with more sugar, but that's a tween for you. It's a smaller space with some seating, but the seating doesn't have windows, so we opted to walk across and enjoy our donuts while wandering the farmers market instead -- honestly a perfect way to eat them. It seems that they are rightly known for their sweet baked goods, hence the name, but they have some savory offerings as well. I had heard good things about their congee so I made a point to try that. It was good! Filling, plenty of meat. I also have had a unique, savory roll that was buttery and great, I forgot what it's called but it's good. And I had a Lychee Rose brioche donut. Decadent! Delicious. Loved it. I got a Vietnamese coffee one time that was great, and a matcha milk with ube foam that was also great. So, yeah, really everything I've had has been great! The opening hours are painfully limited. They are only open from 9am to 1pm on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. And both times I came it was close to noon and they were sold out of LOTS of things. I'm convinced that if you go there because you want something specific, you simply can't trust them to have it available. Instead of planning a specific visit, the wiser approach would be to give them a look if you're in the area during one of the 12 hours they are open in a given week, and see if you're interested in what they aren't sold out of. They have an indoor counter which you get to via the main entrance on 4th street, and guessing your way through the halls until you find them past that gallery. There is also a seating section which has the ambience of a break room at a DMV. But there is also an outdoor window on Saturday & Sunday, with some seats set up in the alley; that description sounds dicey but it's perfectly fine. My hope is that they improve on some of this to make for a more predictably positive experience!

A little bit spendy, but feels pretty in line with a more traditional sit down restaurant pricing these days.
