We got the Italian on brioche and the Athens on a wrap. Five stars for the Italian, as it was balanced and amazing. Four stars for the wrap; I felt it was too watery. Both were very delicious, and we'll come again for sure. This place is an institution. They have amazing pasta and cheeses if you're also there to buy other things. It's such a cute mom-and-pop shop that looks like it's been there since the 50s. We picked out some cheeses for our charcuterie board that we're great. Also were able to get some great fresh produce, as red onions were on sale. The wine and chocolate bar selections are equally decadent, and I have my favorite chips from Spain! Torres black truffle and Torres paprika chips. The people who run the store aren't rude; they're just direct. Imagine you have all these orders, and they're trying to get it done as efficiently as possible. Grow up. I look forward to coming back soon for more of the delicious sandwiches! read more

I sure like Angel Foods, with their tony goods, and chatty "eager to please" staff. When visiting here, treat the staff with a little dignity and good humor - and you will be richly rewarded with the same, plus delicious food and helpful courteous service. We also just picked up a half sheet carrot cake for a birthday party - which was delicious ... and was sweetly carried out to my car for me. I really didn't think much of this kind, olde time gesture - until I felt how heavy the cake was - moist, beautifully decorated and covered in terrific cream cheese frosting. They need to put up a sign that says, "Bad attitude but great food." It would explain a lot and prepare customers for what to expect from staff and get them to stay. It is so absurdly bad service that I was tempted to take my family back because they didn't believe how I described it. It's like one of those restaurants where service is deliberately rude for entertainment purposes. But here, I think they're being serious in that this is how they genuinely behave. Great sandwiches but the workers give a really bad attitude and make you feel like you're weird for asking a question about the menu. Ordered four deli sandwiches for our family and they were really good but I don't think I've ever felt so intimidated going into a place. I almost walked out. People were yelling at each other in the back and when one person came out he just stared at me until I asked, "Do you have sandwiches available?" Also bought some regular groceries and the lady at the register didn't say a single word. But their bread is amazing. read more

It's too bad...had a great experience here last year but not so much this year. No one really helped us at the meat/dessert counter which is always off-putting. I get they're busy but you can at least acknowledge that someone is waiting. Especially when they're smiling like a weirdo. I always order a whoopie pie and a gingerbread pie, my wife, a coffee. She said the coffee was terrible. The whoopie pie was really dry, although the cream was good. I threw it away, along with the gingerbread pie. That one was actually moist and delicious...but they filled it with cream cheese, which I HATE. I should have asked...and they should have had a sign indicating what it's filled with. For $5, both were wastes. I'll try again next summer, hopefully it'll be a different crew on. read more

I'm not saying they're racist but staff are certainly selective about who they pick fights with. It's ridiculous I even have to describe the service that way. I am biased because I live across the street, but I love this little store. Their sandwiches, both breakfast and lunch are DELICIOUS. My favorite lunch sandwiches are the roast beef, and the provencal - the breads and rolls are delicious! Their prepared pasta and beans salads are delicious as well, you can tell that they are made with real, fresh ingredients. (I love the sesame noodles, the chicken caesar pasta salad, beans and greens, the cole slaw, all so good). And the fried chicken is legendary. You can also always find a sweet treat, a bottle of wine, or a single beer to carry out with your sandwich. It isn't as cheap as a regular grocer store (of course), but you really get the local grocery store experience and the ingredients can't be beat. read more

The only thing I am appalled at is because of the fact that one male worker has his son (age 10-11-12ish years of age) working with him. The man has a hell of a temper towards his kid if the kid tries his best or struggles to do anything right. Less than two months ago, my sister and I went in to get a couple of sandwiches/drinks/and snacks and the male worker was just blowing his fuse towards his son who he instructed to stock chips and whatnot. The kid is a kid coming of age, and his father just doesn't know how to maintain patience with him. We try to ignore them, but I just couldn't help but be vocal about it after leaving the shop. read more

I want to move to the East End of Provincetown! This store is one of the reasons why (the other being Provincetown was one of the only places I get ogled on the beach. But this is why I want to move to the east end of it) Gourmet picnic fixings, blackberry sparkling lemonade, and goat cheese yogurt and among the goodies you will find here and in not many other places. Angel Foods is just wonderful. They have a great selection of basic and specialty grocery items, absolutely delicious prepared foods, sandwiches, soups, and sinful baked goods. I've tried the chicken pot pie, eggplant, lasagna, macaroni and cheese, baked chicken, and various other prepared foods, and I have never once been disappointed. They may actually have the best clam chowder in Provincetown. The iced coffee is probably the strongest that I have been able to find in town, which is great because it tends to get watered down so much as ice melts. Shockingly, this place actually has parking; not many spaces, and you many have to circle the block a few times to get in, but you will get in. read more

They make a steak salad on occasion (wish it was always there) that is an absolute favorite - flavorful and tender. The ginger cookie whoopie pie type thing is to die for. Hermits? Not so much....they tend to be dry. They also carry a whole array of nibbles from Carrs Ginger Lemon Creme Cookies to great mustards and things that I've never seen before (an entire cake that is made of dates and nuts? a bakers chocolate bar that is bigger than my laptop?). Loved this store! They have parking which is awesome if you are driving in for the day. You can grab some snacks and drinks, a coffee or lunch for a beach day. I highly highly recommend the whoopie pie and the ginger creme pie. They are BIG and beyond delicious. We went back twice to get these cookies. Cool store that has the best smells when you walk through the door. Like your Mom's house on thanksgiving day. The staff, on the other hand, were so rude and unfriendly it made me want to walk out. No " hello " or " how are you," just snarly faces and bad attitudes. We stood at the deli counter to order sandwiches and it was like we were bothering them. Again no " what can I get you " she just stood there with the meanest look on her face. I don't understand. I thought people in Ptown were friendly, but from what I've witnessed so far there is a lot of that New England stuffiness going on! I love the curry chicken salad at this place!! This is my all time favorite food and angel foods makes it better than anywhere else...and I've had this at a lot of places! Yes, some of the food is a little pricey, but it's ptown, and it's a small independent business, and everything I've had from here is delicious and really good quality so I consider it worth the price. Also--I left a shopping bag with $200 shoes in it by the register because I'm a space cadet, and Liz, the owner, held onto it and went out of her way to make sure I got it back!! It's overpriced, but so is all of Ptown. This is a lovely grocery store with many fine edibles. Where it goes terribly wrong is the outbursts from the owner (a white woman) to her employees (mostly black and Latino). Every single time I have gone in to this store she is screaming at them. All in clear view of customers who pretend not to watch, embarrassed and shocked. I've seen people check in with the employees and even apologize for the way they are being treated. I don't think Liz is a racist woman at heart, but it certainly looks that way to customers watching these scenarios. Screaming at your staff in front of customers is demeaning and uncomfortable for everyone. Please stop. read more

Angel Foods is the best market in P-Town. It is a gourmet's delight! We have been coming to this market for its delicious food and deserts since it opened. The sesame chicken is fantastic. We have it every summer and cannot get enough of it. We also cannot get anything like this back in NYC. Simone is a fantastic cook and baker. Try one of her scrumptious ginger creme pies or muffins. Tonight we had the Blackened Shrimp which was incomparable. The shrimp were jumbo sized and well seasoned. You have to special order them, but it is definitely worth any extra effort. Went in to pick up some snacks for my family. A girl was sweeping the floor and speaking to one of her friends. When I walked in, she stopped sweeping and they both just stared at me. We recently spent the day in Ptown, taking the Plymouth ferry. Angels food was a welcome site for 2 battling the heat on the Ptown streets. I had the Italian wrap--amazing. My friend claims the tuna sandwich was the best he ever had. Outside the door were two tables with chairs. A cool spot for travelers to have their lunch. Chairs were also set up at the end of the parking lot to enjoy the ocean view. Last night I was watching the Brass Sisters on PBS. The sisters went to Angels Foods and were very entertaining in their visit to the market. Thank you very much, everyone was very pleasant. read more

I have been shopping at Angel Foods every time I come to Provincetown on vacation since the 80's. I have always liked this store until the other day when I stopped in. The owner (the shorter chubby lady with brown hair) was verbally beating up her employees. She was rude and condescending. It was so uncomfortable as a customer to witness this. Her employees could not have been nicer. They took her abuse with grace. Whoever the owner is needs to start treating people with respect. She looked like a complete buffoon. Customers really don't like to watch employees being mistreated. This bothered me so much I decided to do my shopping at Farland and the East End Market. My recommendation is to stay clear of Angel Foods and shop at Farland. Get your sandwiches at Relish. Patronize places that treat their employees with dignity and respect. read more
