The food is high quality, no fast food. We visited this past Sunday and it happened to be Greek Easter. Because it was Sunday it was mainly brunch between 11:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., We loved it so much it's an hour from Knoxville but well worth the trip We plan to go back and have dinner there soon. read more

Large open space looks viable for events. Comfortable, but not fancy. Order at the counter. Take a seat and your food and drinks are delivered to your table. It was not busy, but there was a bit of a wait for the food. Not too long but longer than expected. Food was very good and large portions. This place is outstanding. Great food and attentive service. Very friendly staff. My family and I took my mother there today for lunch. She loves fried oysters. Other entrees enjoyed were salmon, Greek chicken and lasagna. The salads are fresh and delicious. Started with the special appetizer dip on the menu of spinach, artichoke and bacon wow! With a party of 2, we stopped by around 6pm on Friday after Christmas. Somewhat busy. Mom and Pop atmosphere. Place your order and pay before seating. Plenty of long tables or just regular tables for 2 or 4. Find your own table and post the number they gave you. Date night, so I had the Seafood Platter and She had Shrimp platter. It was rather pricey till I saw how loaded our plates were. Mine was about 4 oysters, 4 jumbo shrimp, clams, and 2 large pieces of grouper. Long Potato wedges are their home fries. Came with slaw also. Her plate was nothing but about 10 huge Jumbo Shrimp. Her platter had fries and slaw also. All was served hot and with a very nice server. Honestly, to be so far from the Ocean, this rivaled seafood places at the beach. All tasted fresh and not froze ! Definitively will be back. We started eating and totally forgot to take pictures. This is an interesting place. The majority of the food was fried. The service was limited but fast. The seating areas were clean but relatively cold. I couldn't tell this was a Greek Restaurant aside from some items on the menu that were Mediterranean. They have a shortage of staff and therefore you order before you are seated. Basically, it is a glorified fish and chip place with some extras. That said, with all the fried food, they ran out of malt vinegar the day we visited. I find that hard to believe, but it is the case. I am only giving 3 stars because 1) I was disappointed that there was not the ambiance nor menu of a Greek restaurant, 2) all the fried food and no malt vinegar, 3) we had to ask for service. Things like more water, our desert, utensils, 4) we had wine that could have been used as vinegar 5) it was super cold inside. I will return to give it a second chance. read more

We used to really enjoy this local restaurant and had many good meals here a few years ago. Unfortunately, this past year there has been a downturn. The prices have been raised significantly but the portions have gone down. What used to be a lovely dinner salad with a meal, has become about 4 bites of wilted lettuce and a huge hunk of feta. Lettuce is so cheap that it is hard to believe what they've done with it. The portions of other ($19/$20) items have lessened as well making that price point not worth the money. The service at the front is hit or miss, more often than not, the woman taking orders is somewhat aloof and not friendly. Lastly, we cannot understand why they do not simply add a stand or holder at the front where patrons can grab a menu to read ahead of getting to the counter. It's the simplest thing but instead, you are lucky if someone hands you one down the line and if not, you have to ask as you are approaching the counter which holds up the ordering for everyone. Just add a stand/holder so people can read the menu while they are waiting. read more

The food was excellent I had the mannicotti and my wife the lemon chicken. We had the appetizer spinach bacon artichoke dip with the pita strips The only disappointment was the wine I had tasted the Malbec and the tempranillo and they were both excessively oakey. I did order the tempranillo with the meal with the hope it would be the oak taste.unfortunately that was not the case. I would eat there again as the food is wonderful. I think the wine is not up to standard just yet. The oak taste covers up the subtleness of the wine. read more

TLDR: If you go here, you'll prepay, then they get to treat you however they want and get away with terrible service. And they honestly don't care if you never come back because of it. Appalling service. Oh my gosh. I've eaten all over the country in my 37 years and I've never seen the like! My husband, kids, and my in-laws arrived at 6. Ordered their food in 5 minutes (they knew exactly what they wanted). 20 minutes later, I said I was on my way and asked my husband to order me the trout and lemon potatoes. I arrived there 20 minutes later and my food was already out. The husband and children had already received and eaten their food. I ate mine and it was just okay. Nothing special; their lemon potatoes have really gone downhill. After I was done eating, I found out my in-laws hadn't even received their food yet! There's no way my fish would have been done before a patty melt! An hour after they had ordered, their food finally arrived. They were weak from hunger, so they ate what they were given while we all sat there and waited on them. Then I asked--very, very nicely, I might add, because I'd heard that George, the owner, was an abrasive and arrogant man, and I thought, "Ya catch more flies with honey, right?"--if they could just get a small discount towards a future meal. That means we'll return and spend more money if he makes it right, so it just makes good business sense. I explained that they only stayed and ate because my FIL is recovering from colon cancer and was too weak to get up and go order food somewhere else, and because he'd already paid. He puffed right up and said he doesn't give anyone discounts or money back, they got their food, and that was that. So...he has terrible business sense. Just slow your roll, man, you have your guests paying high end prices to sit in a folding chair and be neglected! He could see this and reimburse us in full (he wouldn't, but still) and we still would never return. And for the record, I'm one of those pushovers who eats my food when it's wrong and doesn't make a fuss. I've NEVER had to refuse to go to a restaurant ever again based solely on terrible service. Never. I probably never will have to again; this is the only place I've frequented that was clearly a sh-- show. read more

You pay before you eat and the tip is expected up-front of your dining. Food, in our opinion, was mediocre at best. Service was virtually absent and this was at 2:00 pm on a weekday. After delivering our meal, the server never returned to our table. We had to get our own to-go box from the kitchen staff, to take it home to our dogs. Great meal. I had the avgolemono soup, roasted half chicken, side salad, and baklava. Everything tasted fresh and home cooked. The soup didn't look special on the outside, but I enjoyed the lemony taste and the heartiness of the rice and chicken. I have never had that type of soup before, so i was glad to try it. The chicken was really juicy and flavorful. Good for colder weather, which it was. Baklava was walnuts instead of pistachios and was good as well. The wine, the appetizer, the dinner and the dessert plus the ouzo all were dreamy. The winery was closed but wine was available and quite delectable. Had the hummus and tzatziki with pita combo was unbelievable just a fresh and light beginning to an extraordinary dinner of Moussaka and the vegetarian trio with a bottle of Chardonnay and a slice of baklava plus a cannoli we took to enjoy later. A great spot for a wonderful meal! This restaurant is just 2-3 miles east of I-75 at the Riceville, TN exit. Between us, we had fried grouper, fried shrimp, fries, cole slaw, burger and chicken slovaki wrap. All was very good--including the tartar sauce. We ate on a week night. Their menu differs on Sundays. Upon entering, you'll place your order at the counter and seat yourself inside or at the covered patio. (Dogs allowed on the patio if they are mannerly and obedient and keeps to their own table well.) They will bring you your choice of beverages. They offer various Coke products in the bottles and a glass of ice or adult beverage. They'll also bring your food to the table too. A tip can be left by the register. It was our first time here. The atmosphere in this quiet town along with the music was just what was needed today after some pretty hard work outside. It was refreshing indeed! Looking forward to coming again! read more

There are not many Greek restaurants in East Tennessee. So, this is a welcome addition to the area. I decided to give them a try because I noticed a billboard during a drive to Chattanooga. Otherwise, I'd never have had a reason to stop in Riceville (a very small, rural town). The ambiance and setup is great. They have a lot of quality outside seating and a big indoor dining area. It's all new construction and a nice looking facility. The menu has many of the usual Greek entrees like lemon chicken and moussaka. They also have a Sunday brunch with typical brunch fare (and Greek food). Behind the restaurant is a vineyard and wine tasting building. It wasn't open when we went because it was Sunday. But, that area looked very nice too. It's certainly worth a stop and is a nice little drive from either Knoxville, Chattanooga, or Cleveland. Perfect for a date or special occasion. read more

The staff was terrible and rude, it was nearly impossible to get our food- which was missing half of what we ordered. $60 for basically microwave food. The wine was good though. It's weird to order first then sit down and not be able to order anything else. I wanted dessert but I couldn't order any. Stood at the counter waiting for someone for 10 minutes more than once. If you are craving a gyro, Greek Cafe is the place. The tzatziki sauce was great. The meat was great. A little heavy on the onions. I just took off the excess. No problem. The gyro came with wedges that were fantastic. The inside of the restaurant is gorgeous. They also sell beautiful looking cakes and pastries. I did not buy any of those, but if they taste as good as they look, they are sure to be good. read more

Incredible food. Well worth a visit even if you have to go well out of your way. Luckily for me I'm a local and this is actually the closest restaurant to my house ! The Greek food, especially the gyro, is excellent as expected. I have eaten authentic Greek cuisine many times and this is as good or better. The seafood here is some of the best I've had anywhere. Lightly battered and fried, cooked perfectly. I would never expect seafood of this caliber at a place like this but it can't be missed. And now on the menu- a Reuben with house-made corned beef. It is the best I've ever had, and makes deciding what to eat here just that much more difficult. read more

Been so exited to try them out ever since they opened. Invited son and daughter to go along with mom and dad for a New Years brunch the last Sunday in 2023. Well. This will be hard to describe. We were given 20" long laminated menus to stand next to a counter, examine, and order our meals. Evidently, people are not permitted seating until they have chosen and placed their meal order. I have lived all over the country and this was a foreign concept to all of us in the group. You were to stand, overlooking picnic tables that you hoped to eventually be permitted to sit at. Mind you, this menu was not picnic table and stand at a counter to order kind of food. Choosing eggs Benedict would cost $22 . They have a separate counter, 45 degrees from the meal order counter, for desserts and wine orders. WTF My daughter has extreme food allergies and asked if all deep frying took place in the same fat as the seafood (shrimp causes anaphylaxis ie may lead to death). At first there was uncertainty but eventually the same person indicated it was used for everything. We left. It appears it is an exclusive club of regulars that are welcomed with open arms and have learned the absurd routine unquestioningly. But let me say, who wants to drop $200 for brunch in Riceville Tennessee and eat at picnic tables in winter? Also, the specials were not available less than an hour after opening. read more

This is not an elegant restaurant, but has some of the most Authentic Greek food outside of Athens we have had anywhere. The owner , Georgios, is warm and welcoming. And they make the wines on site! We had Moussaka, fresh pita, soup and salad and enjoyed a bottle of Merlot. We bought a case of wine as well after sampling several others. We make a point of coming here every time we pass through.
