Angelic Pretty has been here for 15 years, and I'm pleasantly surprised that they are still here after so long. While I no longer participate in the lolita scene (due to how expensive it is to invest in quality attire and accessories), I do love seeing the dresses and accessories and appreciating the visual aesthetics. On my most recent visit in February 2026, they lock their store even during business hours, and you have to ring the doorbell to enter. Photos inside the store are forbidden. I bought a Haenuli The Story You Don't Know enamel pin, and was thrilled to find it here, as Haenuli is one of my favorite lolita designers (I had modeled for her in a fashion show, and owned a few of her designs and art). Important: Before visiting, it's important to know that Angelic Pretty USA has a store etiquette due to being a high-end fashion boutique. As of this writing, the doors of Angelic Pretty USA are locked for security even during business hours. To enter, you must ring the doorbell or call their store during business hours, with the phone number and instructions listed on a sign in front of the door. (I did not have this experience -- the staff noticed me and instantly let me in, probably because it was a slow day and because it helped that I was wearing lolita.) No photos of the store inside are allowed. There is only one dressing room, and if you are wearing makeup, you are required to wear a face cover to prevent makeup transfers onto clothing. There is also a rug in the dressing room that you can only step on if you're not wearing shoes. They do not accept returns (just like their Japanese stores). Pros: Angelic Pretty USA is such an adorable store with clothing evocative of a fairytale princess. The outside is already stunning with beautiful dresses in the windows, but inside, the interior is pink. All accessories and clothing are laid out in an organized fashion and illuminated to highlight each section. Due to being a "combination store" with Harajuku Hearts (though I'm not sure they use that branding actively since Angelic Pretty changed their logo), the store also sells other lolita and Japanese fashion goods from Emily Temple Cute, Swimmer, Q-pot, and Kira Imai. The staff is very kind and friendly. Angelic Pretty USA has a point card system for every $50 spent in the store; however, the point card system is only applicable to the USA store and cannot be used for online orders or sale items. Cons: Angelic Pretty USA is quite small despite how it looks outside. They also seem to get very limited stock. Based on inquiries I've made before, Angelic Pretty USA is unable to acquire items from the Japanese individual stores if their own stock has sold out (probably due to being the only Angelic Pretty store in the United States at this time of writing). They can help you special order an item from Japan, but only if it's still being sold on the Japanese online shop. The clothing can be costly and they do not accept returns. Angelic Pretty USA's postcard fairs are also really different from the Japanese stores; in Japan, the postcards are given out with purchase of 22,000 yen or more, whereas Angelic Pretty USA requires you to buy a dress with the print that the postcard is based on. Angelic Pretty also does not give out stickers with every purchase, unlike their other competing lolita brands. Overall: It was my first time in the store and I had quite a lovely experience. I was wearing lolita fashion when I visited, but my friend was not, but we were treated professionally. Angelic Pretty USA is a cute store. Popular items may be hard to obtain, so if there's something you are considering, it's best to make a decision early as they generally do not restock unless the item gets a re-release. The staff is very helpful and can guide you, but if you want to browse on your own, it's important to keep their store etiquette in mind, particularly the fact that they do not accept returns. The store feels like a princess dream come to life, filled with all the shop's latest goods, events, and friendly associates who always help me out. I was very direct as I'm a long time customer and she didn't go further, she has a very ugly personality! I went here on a Monday to take my cousins since they're into Lolita dresses & the staff was so nice! I wanted to take photos of the inside cuz it looks so cute & pink, but they don't allow photos There was only 1 chair available & I wanted my husband to rest so I roamed around the shop for a while. Angelic Pretty is a well known and popular brand for Lolita fashion. Their style of Lolita is more on the sweet side but they also have Classic and occasionally, Gothic styles too. Common themes for their prints include princess storybook related ideas, food (especially sweets), pretty flowers, and cute animals like cats and bunnies. Don't expect cheap knock offs or prices. If you are a bit tight on money, AP does occasionally have sales and they offer so many options in their sale stock. Like other Lolita brands, Angelic Pretty puts out collections with a certain theme and print. They first put reservations for the collection online and then stock whatever is left in store. There are one piece dresses, jumperskirts, blouses, jackets, coats, skirts, cutsews/knits, cardigans, accessories, petticoats, head wear, tights/socks, and shoes. If you see something in stock on the regular AP website but not in store, you can special order it. If you are busty or plus sized, be aware that this brand might not give you a lot of options in terms of clothes but you can find beautiful jewelry, socks, tights, bonnets, hats, mini crowns/hats, umbrellas/parasols, hair bows, veils, bags, pass card cases, cell phone cases, wallets, gloves, wrist cuffs, and shoes (up to size 8 1/2, occasionally 9 if you are lucky) to accessorize your outfit. Look for jumperskirts with full shirring on the back which will give you the most stretch. AP reopened again after remodeling. The place is very beautiful. The dressing room now has a red velvet curtain with a small chandelier inside. I really like the shopgirls. They are always so nice to me. Probably helps that I drop some serious cash here but I feel their friendliness to be genuine. They have a company policy against taking pictures so you will have to take pictures of your merchandise at home. This is because these Lolita brands are small companies and there are replica companies that steal the designs and images of the brands' merchandise and up them up on their website. So don't take this personally if they ask you to put your camera away. Angelic Pretty has a stamp card program. For every 30 dollars, you earn a stamp. They regularly post on their Facebook with upcoming collections and reservations, outfit coordination ideas, sales, and special events. To participate in an event like a tea party, you would have to make a purchase that is a certain amount in total and then you would qualify to purchase a ticket. The biggest event they have to offer is their yearly Anniversary Tea Party in the fall time where you can meet the designers. I was there with a friend for the grand opening. It was a bit messy inside but it's the opening day so it's excused. It's located on a corner near the corner of Geary and Market right next to Discount Camera. The store front is a bit plain looking but it'll look better in due time. As for the opening day, the line was huge! All the gift packs were completely sold out and most of the items were as well. The store is combined with Harajuku Hearts so only the right side was AP. Inside, it is a pretty small store. Only about 30 people were let in at a time because it was so small. It isn't as extravagant and cute as the other locations around the world but it's still just as great! At least now you won't have to pay for expensive EMS to import their items over. I will be looking forward to seeing the finished product once they get settled in. I got pictures inside of the store on its first day to compare the next time I visit them again. The first thing I noticed about the Angelic Pretty (or Harajuku Hearts) shop in downtown San Francisco was the very cute window displays. It had adorable Gothic and Sweet lolita coordinates on each side. I love Japanese fashion, and I am a fan of the Lolita, Mori and Gal trends. The shop is divided into two sections - Dark/punk vs. Pink/sweet. The Dark section sells items like Putomayo, Algonquins, etc. And the Pink section sells items from Angelic Pretty. The prices are quite expensive, since it's imported from Japan (and this fashion style is generally pricey). I have gotten items from Angelic Pretty - skirt, head accessories, pouch. I was so excited to finally come here, only to be disappointed. For one, the door is always locked, which is just more weird that anything having to knock on the door to shop. There was two people working there, one girl who was helping me, and the other who didn't talk except to give my boyfriend some weird looks and followed him while he was waiting for me to shop. The atmosphere completely changed when I handed the girl one thing I wanted to buy and told her I would do some more shopping. Once that happened I was helped a lot more and treated better. The other person there would not stop giving me and my boyfriend bad looks though. I can't say it was that negative of an experience, but only that I expected more from a speciality boutique with high quality items and high prices. Angelic Pretty is a brand I've been following and buying directly from Japan for years. Their clothes are extremely expensive, but also quite unique and well made. It is very convenient and wonderful that there is a store right here in SF that sells their clothes as well as other brands from Japan in the other half of their store, called Harajuku Hearts. Usually they do new releases after the Japan releases, so you have a second opportunity to get new releases. I removed one star because the customer service at this store is non-existent. It is a Japanese style store, so do not expect them to work with you at all regarding anything you would expect with an American store, such as returns, discounts on damaged items, or rules that make any sense. You just have to want the things they sell and not be concerned with lack of customer service. Parking is extremely inconvenient. You will need to park in one of the garages a few blocks a way in either direction. However, it is right next to Market St. so easy to find on foot. read more

It pains me to write this review for this particular store as I love everything Angelic Pretty but my experience visiting this store was hugely disappointing especially after making the pilgrimage from southern Ca. I walked in expecting to be bombarded by greetings by cute young women wearing some of Angelic Pretty's gorgeous clothes and accessories. Instead what greeted me were 2 young Asian men standing behind the cash register only glancing up to see that someone had walked into the store. I'll admit I don't fall under Angelic Pretty's usual demographic. I am very tall, plus sized and over the age of 30. However that does not mean I can't purchase and utilize some of their other products such as head bows, bags and accessories. Nonetheless I walked around the tables and looked through shelves looking for something to spend my money on. The only times I interacted with those 2 young men were when I asked a question about socks and when I checked out. I know I could have spent more but being ignored by staff of an internationally famous brand's shop made me feel like my presence nor money was welcome. I've been wanting to go to this place for a very long time now. I usually just pass by the store and never dare to go in because of the dress prices. (It would just make me sad to go in and not buy anything) So it's my first time going in here because my boyfriend surprised me and took me here to buy me a set of Lolita stuff. Unfortunately the dresses only comes in one size that's why there are not many choices for busty and plus sizes women. Luckily there are handful of designs that can manage to fit busty women. They also have only one fitting room that is surrounded by a huge pink curtain to cover yourself. They provide a petticoat in the dressing room so you can try them on with the dress. Also, they ask you to remove your shoes before stepping into the rug inside. If you are wearing something that is hassle to wear in and out you don't have to worry about that because there's kawaii slippers provided in the fitting room incase you plan to roam around the store to scout for another dress to try on. The customer service is on point since its my first time buying and wearing a lolita dress. The lady nice, she helped me look for shoes and accessories that matches the dress I chose. They also have a sale rack which I got lucky because the dresses that are on that rack are the only ones that fit me perfectly. The only sad thing for me is that I didn't managed to take a photo with the stuff I bought since my mind was focus on the sign that says no pictures allowed. My new favorite store in SF. This extra cute boutique is filled with super fun, over the top girly things that are unique. There are cute gothic things as well but I personally gravitate towards the bright colors. Hehe. Yes, the things are pricey, but everything is imported from Japan and when you try on the clothes and jewelry you can tell from the details that they are made well. If you don't see it in the store they can even special order it for you! Yes, parking is tough. What do you expect it's downtown. If you have to drive I would go on Sunday. Free street parking :) What makes it even better is the staff. From the very first time I've set foot in this store till now they have always been friendly and helpful. I've never felt pressure to purchase and they are always accomodating. The owner/manager, Yuri, is great too! You must at least stop by once just for a look-see. I have been into Lolita fashion since 2004, and Angelic Pretty is one of my all-time favorite brands. The location is not perfect- but it's not horrid either. At least it's close to a parking structure and Starbucks! (But what isn't in DT SF?) The thing about this place is that it is NOT owned directly by Angelic Pretty, like how the BTSSB store is actually owned by the company. The owner of this shop can set their own prices, and do customer service as they please- and usually it's not great. When I go into a Lolita boutique, I want to be treated like a princess. Greeted with a smile, shown the newest products personally, and if the store is too small to have every colorway of a product on the floor, one of my desired color should be immediately brought out from the back without my having to ask. That is how decadent a Lolita life should be and how princesses should be treated. "A Princess is a Princess even in jeans" - and so every girl who walks through the door should be treated as such. Angelic Pretty SF... every American lolita wishes to make a pilgrimage here someday. It was a bit smaller than I thought it'd be, but I wasn't surprised at all. It's on a random street, quiet a random store to be in the area. It's half Harajuku Hearts (which I'm not familiar with), which had other brands and chocomint bows and accessories. The AP half is cute pink wardrobes with a small selection of dresses, purses, a table of socks, shoes under the displays around the store, a few cutsews/boleros/blouses etc, and a table of jewelry accessories. It's small sure, but so is the lolita fashion in America, so it was still a glorious moment for me. I wasn't followed around at all by the only girl working there, but when it came time to check out, she was nice. They also do a stamp card program. It's a cute little store, and a must for any sweet lolita. The prices are about the same as the online prices too (you can buy from them online). read more

The shop was by no means difficult for me to find. Took the bart station and walked only a few blocks and BAM "Angelic Pretty sign" accompanied by Harajuku Hearts next to it as well. The store is quite small and split into 2 parts, one being Angelic pretty and the other being Harajuku Hearts. I was greeted then browsed the products. The selection isn't very big compared to Baby the Stars Shine Bright but still nice. In my opinion Angelic pretty is one of the more expensive brands of lolita, not by a lot but when I compare prices I can tell. Like I said in a previous lolita store review, if your a die hard fan and truly love and appreciate the clothing then you don't have a problem spending the money on these beautiful things. I asked to try a dress on and then they even showed me matching accessories which I did end up buying with the dress :) . In the end my shopping trip here was great really and the staff is very kind! The location is so close to the Montgomery Bart Station that it's on my way home, so I like to make visits occasionally just to see if any new Minty Mix or Choco Mint (sp?) are available. The staff are super friendly and helpful. If I didn't have such a hectic schedule, I'd stay and have a nice chat, but I always have to run back out. (Sad Panda face). They also have Harajuku Hearts on the other half of their store. I love the jewelry that features Alice and Wonderland and there are also Punk/Goth items and candy jewelry! Back to AP... I especially have enjoyed that there has been quite a few mini parties to attend and meet up with other Lolitas. I still feel like I'm fairly new to experiencing being a Lolita, but what I've come out of it is having an enjoyable afternoon of light snacks, drinks and playtime to socialize with other girls AND boys! read more

I love visiting Angelic Pretty because the shop staff are so sweet and very easy to talk to. If you ever have any questions about the fashion or certain items, do not hesitate to ask them because they will guide you in the right direction. If possible, check out the store because there are always items that they do not put up online so that walk-in customers have a chance to snag some sweet stuff. Getting to AP can be tricky by car but very easy from BART. It is literally just a 3 minute walk from the Montgomery BART station so that's easy peasy. If you are driving, there are limited parking meters right in front of the store or you could always park at a parking garage near Union Square and walk for 10-15 minutes to get there, depending on what garage you're walking from. read more

I love the Angelic Pretty line and they manage to stay fairly well stocked. I also like that you can order stuff online and then pick it up in store. So I give the clothing and accessories 5 stars :) My complaint at first was that there was no phone number but since they have one now I am happy. When you walk threw the front door for the first time to see the amazing half pink and black side of Angelic Pretty your in awe. The staff greeted me warmly as I began to walk thought out the store. Sadly though, Arisa, one of the workers who I used to love to come and practice my Japanese with no longer works there :( She was really nice. It doesn't matter that I'm a hyper-ita who still yells "so cute!" at everything I see with an animal or fruit on it, the girls here still treat me with the attentive respect I expect from sales people who have the potential to take hundreds of my dollars. And they have taken HUNDREDS of my dollars. Lolita is a pricy hobby, so be prepared to fork out some dough if you wanna shop here, but it's so worth it!
