We stopped into this store because mom wanted to see it. Anyway, I've never set foot in a Zara before today, and let's just say that it is unlikely that I would ever return to this Zara or any other one. This is a large multi-level store, and maybe at times it provides a pleasant shopping experience, but today was not it. I hardly saw any employees working & I did not interact with anyone. It seems like there is an end-of-season sale going on or something because the store was a total and complete mess. Many items were 70% off, but there were slim pickings for sure. Clothes and shoes were strewn all over the place and there was very little rhyme or reason for the way items were displayed or organized. Full priced items were set out in the midst of the sale stuff and it was just chaos and mayhem galore. I came to do a return recently and was assisted by a man named Josh. He seemed very annoyed and was very impolite. He did not want to help or answer my questions when trying to make a return, he had a very nasty attitude and kept making statements under his breath, when I asked if he had additional sizes for the pants I was trying to exchange. There was nothing wrong with the pants they just don't fit, He did mention they were over the return period by 3 days. All I wanted was an exchange or in-store credit. The experience wouldn't be so bad if he could control his emotions and stop making nasty comments under his breath. "I cant stand people like this!" is what he mumbled under his breath. You feel like everyone there works out of pure anger, and when you ask for something, they act not as if they're being paid to help you, but as if they're being forced to stop doing something more important to do you a favor. On top of that, the shirt I wanted only had sizes L and XL on the rack, and the mannequin had the only size M. I said I needed the M, and they told me no. I politely asked, "Are you sure you can't get the M for me? Because this really represents a terrible customer experience." The guy said, "I can ask my manager if you want, but she'll tell you the same thing." I replied, "Well, if she's going to say the same thing, there's no reason to ask, is there?" Beautiful, clean store. Well organized with two floors of women wear, a fraction of a section for children located on 2 and men's on the lower level. The signage was easy to follow and clearly displayed to self navigate. I ventured to this location specifically seeking pieces stated to be there per the Zara app. Fortunately for me, I was able to obtain the couple pieces I sought. While there I decided to browse; however, there was very little to see. The toddler section for girl's is a tiny segment in the back right corner. There were two pairs of leggings to choose from, plenty of top and short pieces, a good selection of shoes and a few dresses. I am appreciative this location carries children selections, yet there is not much to select from. If you are there to shop the women's collection, you will find a wide selection of pieces to build a wardrobe around. Not intending to purchase any items for myself, I ended up walking out with pieces for my daughter and myself. For the women's collection I would definitely return and recommend. For the children's "section" I would browse if you're in the area, I would not make a special trip for the children's collection. The staff person on the children's level was extremely friendly, quick to assist and took the time to ensure she had pulled the correct items and sizes for me. Bad attitude, rude and bad service. I came here on Wednesday evening 8/21 for returning my order and got bad experience with the lady curl hair, wear glasses who work at cashier. I waited in return order line while she serviced with one customer. She took time so long about 10mins since nobody in purchase line and only me in return line. When she almost finished, there has 3 more customer coming in purchase line and she took care them first. I still waited with patience and expected that she would call me the next person. Then while she almost finished with the 3rd person, there had 2 more and 1 more in purchase order line. She called them and serviced all of them, kept chatting and took time so long til nobody there only me, then she just called "next customer" and never made eye contact or said anything to me. I waited around 20-25mins and was wondering then asked her if normally Zara give priority service to purchase order line first. She said "Yes and I work only one person". I told her that I don't think so cause I have been to many locations of Zara, even there has only one worker, they try to switch giving service to customer between purchase and return order line. I asked her if she knows I waited so long about 20mins. She made her face overacting and said "really" "I did with my best and can't tell who come first unless customer would let each other to go first and said like oh you can go first" I said "but you can noticed that who come first and call your next customer" She acted bad attitude and said with her smile "oh sorry". Another review about: Racial Profiling My mom and I got accused of not paying for our items but not until I got that out of the employee that stopped me. My mom and I were splitting our bags because I live in SF and she lives in the Peninsula and my dad was parked outside. It was raining so we did this inside. RIGHT NEXT TO THE METAL DETECTORS. The store is packed and they have one dressing room open on the second floor. 13 people are in the fitting room line and I asked if they could open up a new fitting room "talk to the manager" where are they " go over there". I went over there and asked again "can you open up another fitting room" ask the manager. You have a radio in can you call and are them to come over? Never came out or answered. I went there on a Sunday. For sure they are understaffed. The fitting room had a pile of clothes on the ground. I thought I was in a fancy trash site. People here either didn't want to clean behave of the sale season, or they didn't have staff and time to do so, but as the flagship store, it is disappointing. The selection more than anything is different, I'm assuming because its a west coast store and not an east coast location. Watch out for the employees here. Went into a fitting room with my sunglasses, forgot them and went back less than a minute later to grab them. The room was cleaned and empty but my sunglasses were gone. I have a picture right before going into the room with them on. When I asked for help they kept running away. Even the manager (woman about 5' 8 with black hair and light skin) was avoiding helping me. She told me she would be right back and went to lunch. It's really weird that they were all avoiding me and refused to help me, even stating "we're busy." I've never been to such an empty Zara on a Sunday . It takes less than a minute to ask the staff if they found a pair of sunglasses. At least PRETEND to care. Weird that you are avoidant in a situation like this. Beware. I love Zara because of their unique style of clothing. This weekend my cousin is having an orange colored themed dinner and after searching online for a month it is now crunch time and I'm at the mall. I had browsed their selection online so I had an idea of what I was looking for in store if it were still in stock. None of it was lol. I found some cute orange heels so I snagged those and went to the register. That interaction went like this: Cashier: "I can help you next!" Me: *walks up to the register* Cashier: *silence* she takes the shoes, scans them and placed them in a mesh shoe bag. "Would you like a bag for $.25?" Me: "Yes, please!" Cashier: "Did you find everything okay?" Me: "No!" Cashier: "Your total is...." Me: *staring at cashier, then scanning her shirt for a name tag* She wasn't wearing a name tag. I proceeded to swipe my card and received my receipt in silence. As I exited the store I thought to myself that their training must have not prepared them for what to say when someone didn't find everything okay. As a customer, I appreciate the full customer service from the greeting to thanking. And normally when I find the service odd or unwelcoming and the employee has no name tag, I take a photo for Yelp. It was my first time at this location but I'm sure I'll return. And I'm sure that same employee will be providing that mediocre customer service...so a pic will be coming soon lol read more

Is it part of your training program to teach your team members to be so rude and sullen? Seriously you should just get self checkout kiosks and security staff because your in store staff act like they would rather be anywhere but your store. Today I called the store on Post street to see if they had my order and the girl who answered the phone was so rude. I literally had to beg her to check because she kept saying I should have gotten an email and i kept explaining over and over I did get an email but it just shows an error message. She put me on hold for forever it seemed then asked for the order number about 6 times, I fell for the punishment prank they apparently like to play when people call and repeated the number every time while she giggled. Since it was just after the holidays I checked out the sale items than got on a humongous line to try my items on Ugh these places always are busy. The items are stylish and well priced. Since this is supposedly the flagship for SF, I'm going to leave the review for the San Francisco Centre location here as well. Conveniently, the location inside the mall is "unclaimed" by Zara so they probably don't care what people say about that one. And considering the reviews, it's probably the ugly stepchild location. This is for Zara at 865 Market St: Disclaimer: I've always enjoyed shopping at the Zara locations in New York - especially Soho. They have the best inventory, and I've never had a horrible CX at the Soho shop. Anyway, myself and another customer are the only two people waiting outside for this SF location to open. An employee starts unlocking the doors and partway through indicates that we can come in. So we do. (To be fair, this employee ignored me and gestured to the white lady to come in but obviously didn't stop me from coming in with her.) But you know something's off when the white person looks confused and says, "I think you were here first" and politely waits for me to walk in with her. Minor red flag that should've prepared me for what came next but really didn't because it was completely out of left field. Not even 30 seconds into the store, a second employee zeroes in on me and berates me for walking in when the doors weren't 100% open. Meanwhile, the other customer who walked in with me is now SHOPPING. I tell this angry employee that her coworker let us both in so she huffs and puffs her way over to that person and probably berates her too. I'm standing there in shock to be honest. Then this angry employee comes back around and basically says to me "what do you want" and when I tell her I need help finding a specific product for exchange, she dismisses me and tells me to go find it myself in the store. Right after, I asked the employee by the door for help instead and she tells me the product is an online exclusive so I would've never found it in the store like the angry employee told me to do. It was distressing, stressful, disgusting, and completely out of line. This employee was out of control and beyond unprofessional. While I spoke with the manager who apologized on her behalf, I don't think it's ever going to be sufficient to erase what happened. It's another reason I'm glad to be leaving this godforsaken garbage heap of a city they call San Francisco. read more

They announce on their website an extended 60-day return policy due to COVID. I go into the SF store for some sale returns and they inform me that I cannot because it was changed back to 30 days and to "call this 800 number." How was any customer supposed to know this? And honest question: is a requirement for getting hired here acting like you hate your life? In addition, don't be foolish and to mail back your returns. When she clocked in and asked the manager to tasks you can tell by her facial expression that she barely does gobacks, recover, etc. She just want to be a cashier until she goes on her breaks. During my purchase, I questioned the $29.99 pricing and reminds me that it is $39.99. I am assuming that she thought I changed the pricing. On her behalf, she did not call the manager next to her to ask about the pricing. The manager on duty is either Indian or Latina descent wearing a anime hoodie. Although, I continued with the purchase I felt nobody emphasized my question. For 30 mins, I looked for a manager/sales associate who would be able to answer my question. All associates gave me different information. I was able to ask for a manager and promised to honor the pricing for employee mistakes when they did markdown., but I have to settle for a smaller size. I love Zara, their designs and their prices, but the customer service at this store is the worst. They never have enough people at the registers so the line is almost always painfully long. The employees seem put out when you ask for assistance and the individuals working the registers barely even look at you when you approach them. Instead, they talk amongst themselves while slooowwwwlllly ringing up each item, asking each other when their lunch is (seriously, I heard this question three different times during my last visit). There is one, professional manager working downstairs in the mens section, but unfortunately, he can't make up for the whole catastrophe that is the customer service of this store. Very unprofessional. My friends and I arrived near the closing time (which we were unaware). We picked the clothes that we wanted to try on, upon arriving to the dressing rooms, we were told the dressing rooms were closed. We were upset, but left the clothes on racks that they had out. We went downstairs, and proceeded to still shop around since the store was technically open. We waited in line to pay, and as I was done paying, I turned around to see my friend upset. Apparently she was told by a short, short red hair lady that she was not allowed to touch the clothes. The security guard next to the door stepped in and asked why we were upset, we told him why we were upset, but instead of fixing the situation, it seemed that he was more worried about instigating the situation. Eventually I went off on the lady, because she was being extremely rude. I told her that we're paying customers and that she should not be treating people this way. I start walking to the door to leave as she follows me she says that she will call the cops. I ask her for her name, she says that she does not have to give me her name. The came here to pick up some items. And that first person was pretty great gave the items to me quickly. Now the wait. The top lines were 20 people long so they say go down stairs and I do after 15 minutes of waiting on the top line. The lines below were short 3 people but there was only 1 cashier. 1 taking online orders and 1 working on another online order. So yeah 1 cashier. Wait another 15 minutes and now I'm at the cashier. Wow these people are just rude people. I'm just here to pay for the items. And I get the feeling that I shouldn't be buying this stuff at all.
