Last month we met at Angelina's. The food and service were very good. We will return next month! Friendly service. The cheese pizza here is pretty good, not the best I've had in the area but definitely not the worst. The sauce and cheese were good but I wasn't a huge fan of the base, felt like something was missing. Kids were fans of the mozzarella sticks. read more

Went for lunch today at Angelina's. I order a cheese steak sandwich with STEAK, long hot peppers, Broccoli rabe and onion. There were no long hot peppers.The bread was nice however, the chef must have chopped up one piece of sliced cold cut roast beef, minced it, and mixed it into the cheese. The sandwich had a smothering taste of overcooked broccoli rabe taste. Could not taste any meat in the sandwich . I wanted to like this place, but after the performance today. I won't be back. Saving grace .... The waitress and young lady at counter were fantastic . Really some of the worst food I have ever had at an Italian Restaurant in NJ. read more

The Buffalo chicken pizza (no blue cheese) was flavorful with minor kick(I like spicy) and I really enjoyed a classic Pepperoni slice from this place as well. I'm a pizza snob so I am happy this pizza shop was worth it. Other pizza places I really like that are similar in terms of great quality ingredients and taste would be the following: Sabatinos in Maplewood, Stadium pizza in Jersey City, Franco's pizza (ShopRite plaza) in Livingston and Mona Lisa's in Bayonne. Stopped in for a slice at lunch today. I had been to this restaurant a few years ago, but not sure if it was same owners then or not. There are a few tables in the back for just slices, with a more formal dining area in the front. There were a few pies out with different toppings, I went for a slice of the Grandma. The slice was very thin and tasted fine. Overall, I find this place middle of the road. No real complaints, but nothing to rave about either. There's plenty of competitors in the town, I'll be checking them out soon. read more

There's nothing that annoys me more than a restaurant that doesn't honor their gift cards. Ate dinner, gave the waitress the gift card. She informed me there's a new owner and he won't honor gift cards from the old owner. It's the same restaurant. This is a bad business practice. It's exactly what Maras in Denville did, and look where that got them. I'm not coming back. And by the way, we ate here monthly and placed a $300 catering order in December with Angelina's, so they lost a good customer. read more

This is my first time at Angelina's. We wanted something different and new in the area. This place has a great menu. This is a welcome addition to the area for great informal Italian food. Pretty good restaurant/ pizzeria. Came here with a big party and several kids a few months back and they were accommodating. Pasta and apps were fairly good. The penne vodka I wasn't a fan of. Angelina's Trattoria makes some seriously delicious Italian inspired comfort dishes served up for Brunch and Dinner. I can usually tell alot about a place with just one bite of their Meatballs and here I found that to be the exact case. My first visit I ordered the Spaghetti and Meatballs with Marinara Sauce and from that point on I was totally and instantly hooked on Angelina's. I can also recommend the Buffalo Wings which left Me impressed as well.    Now with so many Pizza places around it's almost like everyone with an oven is making their own version of it okay. But that's definitely not the case here and I would go so far as to say it's primarily a Restaurant that also makes Excellent Pizza, where the opposite is almost always the case at most other "Pizzerias" where They're Pizza first type deals. DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS PLACE!! Angelina's is easily the best Italian in town right now This place is consistent, delicious and simple. I ordered delivery to my job once (got a Buffalo chicken wrap) which was AMAZING. I went for dine-in and sat on the patio tonight with a friend and was far from disappointed. The food comes out hot and is cooked perfectly. Our waitress, Gabby was so incredibly sweet and accommodating. I would go back just for her! We got the hot Buffalo wings as an appetizer-theyre crispy, not swimming in sauce, and come with blue cheese and celery sticks. The fried calamari was crunchy and flavorful too with the fra diavolo sauce. My friend got a personal pie (half margarita and half penne vodka) and he literally ate the whole thing in one sitting. I got the Vito sandwich which was delicious but I couldn't finish it (generous size) so I'll have it for lunch tomorrow. Amazing food, amazing staff and top tier service. Arrancini, meatballs, clams oreganata, fried calamari, broccoli rabe with long hots, shrimp beeps, all delicious apps! Wasn't too impressed by the place. The rating is a typical pizzeria and nothing more. There was nothing about the food or service that made me think that I would want to come back to this place when I had the urge to go out to eat. (1) maximum credit card charge the state of NJ allows this places charges (2) $19 for eggplant that is nothing more than 3/4 breading and 1/4 actual eggplant. Pasta with cold sauce that was pasta and sauce as reheated in a pan, made the pasta taste like reheated from the frig. Out of all things, the place look familiar and wondered if its a different owner and it was. In regards to the gift card situation, what the place did was called false advertisement, you bought the place and didn't change the name, so you were legally obligated to honor that gift card. Being too lazy and cheap to change the name, cost you a customer. You should of just said "we don't away free meals." In this case, your stupidity cost you 2 negative or more comments and didn't even act when you saw both. Looks like we'll see that for sale sign again real soon! read more

I've tried the Uncle Vito's sandwich, buffalo chicken wrap, and buffalo chicken pizza. Everything is AMAZING and fresh every time! The only thing is sometimes there isn't enough buffalo sauce in the wrap or the cheese on the sandwich isn't melted enough but it is still good. The fries are crispy. I want to try a chicken dish next. They have a huge parking lot and indoor and outdoor seating. At certain times, it gets very busy. Highly recommend! read more

The server was totally incapable of taking an order. She got the appetizers wrong. Then when asked for a plate it came when we were done with salad we were sharing. That is after my appetizer came totally wrong. We then asked for napkins.. none came. The food...the eggplant Parmesan was all breading and salt. Simply awful. I tasted no eggplant at all. The supposed pei mussels were prepackaged and totally not fresh. The dinner was one of the worst I have had in a long time. The bill was $140.00 For a lousy pizza parlor. That is highway robbery. The Grandma's pizza is really good - the crust is perfect, the sauce has lots of flavor but is a little too salty. The pizza was also super greasy which doesn't taste bad just makes you feel bad lol. We also got the white pie with spinach - the crust isn't as good as the Grandma's pizza but it was still yummy. I liked the ricotta. The linguini bolognese was pretty good. I visited the restaurant on a Thursday for lunch and had never been there before. I was seated immediately and the waitress was very polite. She took our order and returned with drinks soon afterwards. The food came out quickly and was delicious. I had the chicken cutlet sandwich with fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers and balsamic dressing. My colleagues were also impressed with the food and the service. We had lunch here today and were very happy with the experience. We kept it simple : Chicken Parm sub and a small pizza . Pizza: I chose one of their specialty pies : Broccoli rabe and sausage. It was a white pie so I can't comment on their sauce but the pizza was really good! Crust was tasty and not over baked - a definite peeve of mine . Chicken Parm Sub : Kind of a basic order but I've had it ruined plenty of times over the years . Their version was perfect : Chicken and sauce were both delicious and the bread was exceptional. Strong enough to hold the sandwich together but you don't need to rip at it to take a bite. Both items were generous portions Service was excellent. Our server (Alexa or Alexis I believe) kept our drinks full and even mentioned that the dozen or so teenagers having slices would be leaving soon. The little bit of noise wasn't an issue for us but it showed that they care about customers happiness. They have stiff competition in town but they definitely deserve a visit. Ordered the Cavatelli and broccoli, they allowed me to substitute capellini (angel hair pasta) which I prefer. Great dish. Pasta cooked just right and the broccoli still crispy, not overcooked. They will substitute other pastas too if you wish, if they are available. We also shared the Grandma Pie as an appetizer, it was really good! Their outdoor seating is heated and lit up at night. My husband and I tried Angelina's for lunch and we absolutely LOVED it! I got the chicken parm sandwich and he got the Uncle Vito sandwich. Both came out quickly and were clearly made to order. The bread for the sandwiches was delicious and fresh. My husband asked for extra vodka sauce to dip our fries in and it was so good. We can't wait to go back and try other meals there.
