I had a delicious dinner to Lucco this past weekend. Everything that I had, from start to finish, was fantastic. The service was attentive and intentional, which I loved. For my cocktail, I had the Lucco sangria, which had red wine, chicha morada, pineapple and mint. It was a unique spin on sangria that tasted fantastic. For a starter, I ordered the octopus, which was bursting with flavor from the various components. The octopus was very tender and practically melted in my mouth. For my entree, I had the pesto bucatini dish with shrimp. The dish tasted fantastic and every component complemented each one perfectly. The portion was very generous as well. Although I was full, I still made room for dessert. The tiramisu was fantastic and one of the best that I've had. Overall, I had an incredible experience at Lucco and highly recommend it. One note is that the parking lot fills up quickly on weekend evenings, so there are limited options. read more

Had an awesome night at Locco Cucina with our friends. The space is beautiful with great energy & the food was spot on. We started with the octopus, meatballs, burrata, and tuna. For entrées, we had the pork chop Milanese, branzino, and lasagna, and all were excellent. The lasagna, though, deserves its own moment. It might be the best I've had in 47 years of life. The presentation is unique--served bubbling, gooey, and packed with flavor. There's some kind of X-factor going on that takes it to another level. I don't think I'll have a better lasagna anywhere. My wife is picky about meatballs and loved them, and I'm usually tough on octopus but thought it was great. Our server Luca was great--nice guy who took the time to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying everything. This restaurant really surprised me. We went to dinner with some friends on a Tuesday night and you would have thought it was the weekend with how busy it was! The parking situation is a bit of a headache as there is limited parking however we were able to park in the bank next door with no problem. The restaurant is beautiful and very airy. Our server was great and he offered lots of recommendations and was friendly and patient with us. The food was so good starting with the bread basket. The calamari was fresh. The lasagna was the best I ever had and I especially loved the shrimp bucatini. My least favorite was my dish which was the spicy carbonara. It was a bit dry and could do with my sauce. My husband Caio Pepe ramen was interesting as we expected it to be in a white sauce but it was green. It was good anyway though and the dessert at the end was great. Came here recently and have been back twice since. I typically judge an Italian place by their lasagna. It is amazing and I was shocked. While we tried a few other dishes, I don't recall what they were. I do remember the service was great. Lucco (not the owner) had served us the first time and he was great. It does get packed though and unfortunately parking is horrible. Uber if possible or you may need to park at Trader Joe's and walk over. read more

I chose Lucco to celebrate my wife, mother and mother-in-law on Mother's Day. They hosted a group of 7 of us including our infant. They really helped make the day special, not only with the delicious food, but even more so with how friendly and welcoming everyone was ranging from the hostesses to the waitstaff. The ambiance of the restaurant was clean, spacious and lively without being overwhelming. We ordered pizza, salad, a few pastas and the branzino and all were fantastic. This is my third time here. Obviously I must like it because I keep returning, I will start with the best part, the food is top notch. Everything we order we love, from the zucchini chips meatballs pizza and chicken parm. Nothing disappoints. There are a few bumps in this road though. First we sat at the bar and directly next to the bar they had a semi private party. It was extremely loud and kinda killed the vibe for everyone trying to enjoy the bar. The group was loud drunk and yelling. Management never addressed them and it gave off college party vibes. Kinda surprised for this place. Second service at the bar was slow. Now I'm not talking about the food being served. That was actually faster than expected for how busy the place was. I am talking about how I sat for over two hours and did not get a water until I asked and it sat empty and was never refilled, the couple next to us began complaining to us because there food was brought out without silverware or napkins. Food for a consistently good. My boyfriend who is picky about his steaks and has been everywhere says the cowboy ribeye is the best his had. As a vegetarian I can vouch for the eggplant parm. Hidden gem! Maybe just for me not visiting that area often. Overall 5 stars as the food is outstanding. My go to is the meatballs app and the Cowboy Steak as the main course. Italian restaurants are not necessarily known for their steaks however the 18oz Cowboy was the star of the show. So tender and full of flavor, cooked mid-rare to perfection. The service was ok not outstanding however attribute that to the restaurant being absolutely packed. I would rate the steak far better than Roots (an actual steak restaurant) at a much better price point. A little loud but hey... that just screams everyone is having a great time! read more

I attended this place for a rehearsal dinner. We sat in the private area. The overall space was very modern looking with a cozy feel to it. The service was appreciated, and the food came out in a timely manner. For starters, we were served the tri colore salad, fried calamari, and meatballs. The salad consisted of arugula, radicchio, endive, gorgonzola, pine nuts and a lemon vinaigrette. This was a nice-looking dish, and the only issue was the gorgonzola. It was way too over powerful. There could have been none or less added to the overall dish. The rest of the toppings were tasty. The calamari was not too bad, a solid crisp. The marinara sauce was key here. The meatballs were okay. They were nicely formed but thought lacked seasoning. For an entrée, I was able to try a few different ones. The entrees were chicken parmigiana, roast salmon piccata, and penne vodka. The chicken parmigiana was again okay. The chicken needed to be pounded out a little more I thought. Again though, the sauce was ideal. The salmon piccata was my favorite dish of the night. The salmon was cooked to my liking and the simple sauce of the lemon, butter, and capers made for a great pairing. The penne vodka was decent too. Will I go back? I think so. read more

I went with a group of 7 (got a reservation - a must for a large party) and we shared the crispy zucchini, burrata with prosciutto and meatballs for an app and everyone enjoyed. I had the chicken parm for dinner and when I say it's as large as my head...it's a HUGE portion! Other faves for the table were the eggplant parm and spicy vodka pasta. Service is good, too, although felt a bit slow for a Tuesday night and our waiter seemed frustrated with some of our orders (subbing chicken for the sausage in the vodka pasta; adding pasta to some of the proteins, etc). One thing that took a star down is the parking, which has been pretty impossible each of the three times I've been here. They have a relatively small lot (maybe 18 spots total?) with a gravel pad that people 'unofficially' park in. Last night when we arrived there was absolutely no parking, but we learned it was OK to park in the bank or medical office lots on either side, so long as it was 'after hours.' Came here on a Saturday night for dinner with a friend and it was amazing! They offer valet service so parking wasn't an issue. I do recommend making a reservation. We both had the drizzy spritz which was delicious. The def do make the drinks strong. We did have to ask our server for bread while some tables were automatically brought bread. For entrees, I had the spicy penne vodka with sausage which was great and then my friend had the rigatoni bolognese which was she said was tasty. The star of the show was def the brocolini which came spicy and was delicious. For dessert we had the fritelle which was so good. 2nd visit to Lucco-this time for lunch-Party of 5. Indicated on my Resy reso we were celebrating a graduation. After being seated & waiting for 10 minutes server came over & we ordered a bottle of bcuz who doesn't want bubbles to celebrate- we were told drinks, entrees, apps all need to be put in at the same time so we put orders in for margherita pizza, calamari, rigatoni bolognese, salmon, eggplant stack, chicken parm sami & short rib sami. Waited another 15 minutes b4 getting the bubbly- they opened the bottle at the bar & came over with glasses full. If I order a bottle of wine, bubbly etc. I expect it uncorked tableside- minor snafu but mentioned to the server we were celebrating & wld have been nice for the bottle to be uncorked tableside- he didn't bother to ask what we were celebrating & asked if we wanted the bottle-huh? was nicely chilled & we enjoyed nonetheless. Now for the food -Don't know what kind of cheese theyre using for pizza & parms but it doesn't seem to melt into that gooey pull of goodness kind of just sits on the food and sadly slides off the pizza. The chicken parm was soggy & again cheese not melted, no flavor & kind of sad looking. Short rib sami w provolone & cini where is the provolone & what's the point of saying there is cini in it if you get one tiny bite in the entire sandwich, sami cld have used a slightly larger portion of short rib as well-felt like a sami put tgthr w leftovers- came w a consomme of some sort which had an offputting flavor that did not add anything favorable to the dish. came w samis they seem like they're from frozen. Salmon was a nice portion as was the rigatoni & were enjoyed. Waitstaff apologized for delays in svc- they were kind & doing their best on a busy afternoon. My old school Italian father always boycotted this place so I had never been until... he was out of town one weekend and I suggested to my mother and sister we check it out. So yeah, it isn't old school Italian (no faded posters of Goodfellas and the Godfather or red and white checkered tablecloths). It's a much more youthful, trendy spot with a full bar in the center. Shoutout to our waitress who insisted we get these Nutella zeppole type (IDK the actual name, it was a special) dessert instead of tiramisu. Visited this establishment with co-workers after work (approx 5:30pm) as it is close to the office. My honest review broken down: 1. Prices - I have no issues paying money for quality food. This food was definitely pricey for the lack luster taste. 2. Food - Lacked flavor all around -I personally tried the Fried Calamari, Burrata, Steak Cesar Salad. The calamari had next to no taste at all nor did the marinara. The Burrata was just meh. Others tried the Short Rib Gnocchi and Spicy Penne Vodka. No one was impressed. 3. Service - Poor overall -Waitress disappeared for extended periods -We were forced to order all food at one time. We wanted to order appetizers first and then follow with ordering entrees later like any other restaurant. Our waitress unapologetically informed us that she had to put everything in at one time and promised everything would come out on schedule. I've never heard of a restaurant making patrons order everything in this manner. -Food took a very long time to come out! 4. Atmosphere - LOUD! -I have nothing against noise, but it felt exceptionally loud to the point where our table struggled to hear one another. 5. Location - Parking was tough! Parking lot seemed far smaller than the establishment could handle inside as far as patrons are concerned. -The restaurant's lot was full beyond capacity. We were forced to park in the bank parking lot next door or across the street. (Read the signs carefully as some of the neighboring parking lots clearly advised they'd tow you). -Pretty tight squeeze upon seating. Felt like they stacked as many tables as possible to pack the joint! We kept bumping elbows and space with the table(s) behind us. We knew it wasn't our imagination when the waitress started pushing tables a bit as people left to give allow for more space. -Clean overall and well maintained. Overall just not impressed and likely won't return. Glad to say I tried it and also glad I didn't have to pay the check as the food was pretty subpar. My 2 stars is based on the overall presentation. Lucco is an Italian food outpost in a suburban bedroom community halfway between New York and the Pennsylvania line. It features popular Italian items including a fully restored 1958 Vespa Motor scooter in brilliant Ferrari red on a pedestal in the center of the restaurant. This coupled with a white marble bar beckons the community to come join the conviviality exuded by the atmosphere urged on by popular Italian music, both classical and popular. Their catchline is "Eat, Drink, Live!" Lucco can provide seating for couples, families as well as large groups within sight of their floor to ceiling fireplace. The menu offers are broad from small plates to traditional pasta dishes that can be coupled with a full range of wines and spirits. The wines included Prosecco, Rose, Pino Grigio, classic Chianti and anything else in between. Cocktails and Spritzes were heavily in evidence and there was a wide choice of beer, both in bottles and on tap. I chose Perroni. Many at our table for fifteen chose from a variety of 14-inch personal pizzas. Others picked Caesar, Farmer or Mediterranean salads with grilled Salmon or Chicken added. One person ordered the Grilled Branzino and another the Chicken Milanese. I settled on Rigatoni Bolognese that contained a traditional mixture of beef-pork-veal ragu. I coupled this with a Roasted Vegetable and Farro appetizer (made with carrots, butternut squash, beets, sweet potatoes, wild mushrooms, brussels sprouts) served warm with a lemon vinaigrette. I shared this with my wife. The dish was outstanding. The evening with extended family and friends was fun and everyone in the restaurant appeared to enjoy themselves in these warm and inviting surroundings. We visited this restaurant for the first time last night for a family birthday dinner. We looked forward to eating here, as we had heard great things. I will start by saying that the forty minute car ride was absolutely worth it. The restaurant has a large open floor plan with vaulted ceilings, and it is definitely a comfortable place to be. Staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and helpful. The food was incredible. Linguine Nero was absolutely wonderful, with generous amounts of crab meat and in a delicious spicy sauce. Calamari was crispy and the garlic aioli that came with it added depth and lots of flavor. My other half loved her lasagna. The food has recently (the past year plus) become just awful with ridiculous pricing. The famous meatballs are now mealy and all bread crumbs, two for $20. Had a $40 simple salmon entree last night and it was an overdone brick, barely eatable . we also had a $50 pork entree that needed a saw to cut and had to throw it out . If I could, I would give this place like a 3.7-3.8. There were a few things they did VERY well. I ordered the Italian Greyhound Spritz to drink, and wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was, but I would definitely get it again (and try the other spritzes on the menu!). The zucchini appetizer was super yummy, especially the sauce that it came with. The Lucco Meatballs appetizer was GREAT, highly recommend -- the sauce was flavorful and the texture and tenderness of the meatball was perfect. For my entree, I ordered the Cavatelli, and the pasta was cooked to al dente perfection. As for the aspects I expected more from, the biggest miss for me was the tomato sugo on my cavatelli -- unfortunately, it was almost completely lacking in favor. This was a real shame because as I mentioned, the pasta was cooked perfectly. The table bread was okay (I appreciated that it was a mix of focaccia and standard table bread, but from an Italian restaurant, I expected better bread). The calamari appetizer was just fine, not anything to write home about. All in all, close to a 4-star experience, and I would totally go back to try other menu items and take in the beautiful ambience again. read more
