Love this place for a quick slice. Off the beaten path, in a weird spot, but crazy good.

I want to thank the entire staff and especially the owner, Mike, for accommodating my VERY last minute order for my nephews college graduation dinner. Not only did they pull through with flying colors but the quality of food surpassed my expectations by ten folds. We ordered (the day of) a sheet of meat lasagna, 4 dozen garlic knots, and two large pies. The lasagna was nearly as good as my mother's ;) (it was amazing) and the knots were perfectly baked and fresh! The pies were excellent- but we already knew they would be. We are a pizza snobs and this place makes a pie that reminds my husband of home (Jersey). We were all so appreciative to your quick response and excellent service. I've been eating at Angelo's since they opened over 25 years ago. I've tried everything on the menu and its all delicious. My recent favorite dish is the chicken gorgonzola salad with their homemade dressing. Get the garlic rolls to go with it. They are addicting. I think I can eat a dozen of those things. My family and I were regulars here for years until recently they started adding on 4% to your check use your credit card!!! They said the customers now have to pay their credit card fees???? I was never told this, it was just added on the total,when questioned they said pay cash to get a discount,which is the regular menu price???? I owned a business and credit card fees are part of doing business and with their markups,this is just a huge RIPOFF. I am sure most customers don't even know about the NEW FEE! This place is terrible! First, the old lady at the cash register NEEDS to be fired. She might be in charge or a central figure at this place but she is a complete idiot and had no respect for customers. My most recent visit, she stood at the cash register counting receipts while I stood there waiting to pick up my pizza. she was fully aware I was there but didn't give one hoot. When it was time to get my pizza, I noticed that they made me the wrong pizza although the idiot at the front insisted they hadn't made a mistake. It wasn't until the pizza guy at the oven noticed on the receipt that they were wrong and apologized. They offered to make me a new one but since it was busy they said it would be 20-30 minutes. No thanks! My first visit about a year earlier was a little different. They got the order right but the pizza was over cooked and not good at all. In the end, I won't even bother considering this place again. There are so any other good pizza places to go around here. I called for a delivery, explained to the young girl on the phone on the pasta I wanted marinara, she repeated wring and said meat sauce, I said no, marinara - we are vegetarians. She got agitated told me to "hold on" then proceeded to complain to a guy standing near her, (I could hear their conversation)'she told the guy, "this lady is telling me her life story". Very rude girl and I have never and will never go there or order nor has any of my family gone there since. Customer service among the young employees leaves a horrible and lasting bad impression. read more

We've eaten there before and it's been better, but recently we had a large thin crust pizza that was very, very soggy in the center. And then they were going to charge us $1 to pay the bill with a credit card! Ridiculous. We will not be going back. read more

Apparently this same restaurant has two names - Also called Michael Angelo's Italian Restaurant at same address. Wife and I had dinner here on a Saturday night in November, 2015. Walking in on the left side is the pizza counter and a few tables. On the right side is a dining room with a reasonable amount of tables. Sat down at first table but was dirty so chose another booth. Ordered a spinach and garlic pizza as well as a pasta dish with sausage in light marinara sauce. The dinner came with a salad and 3 garlic rolls. Salad served on a small flat plate consisting of some romaine, one tomato wedge and one olive. Nothing to write home about there. We both enjoyed the garlic rolls very much. The pizza - the tomato sauce tasted watery and after the first slice, crust was soggy. Really, holding up a slice it was droopy and wimpy. Instead of the pasta dish served with marinara, the sauce was an overly creamed pink sauce (maybe supposed to be a alla vodka wannabe?). I really didn't care for the sauce (and I like vodka sauce), but didn't say anything as I figured I misread the menu and this is how the dish comes. The service was awful. Never came by our table to ask how our food was or did we need anything. I put my empty water glass at the very edge of the table in hope it would be seen. Nope, had to ask for more water. Also wanted more garlic rolls and 6 were brought to the table. Two would have been fine, but figure okay, 6 is better. When the check came, I noticed we were charged $2.95 for rolls. Server never mentioned we would be charged, and that's the point. Had he told me, while thinking that is really a low class move on the part of the restaurant, I probably would have said okay. Now after seeing this charge on my check, I decided to look at the menu and the pasta dish I ordered. I was correct -- said it comes in a light marinara sauce. So I asked for the manager. Man came to the table. Never introduced himself but I figure it was the owner. I mentioned my displeasure about the rolls, but told him I would have paid for them anyway so I would do so. However, the pasta dish was not delivered as promised. He was aware of that and said they should probably change the menu (you think?) as it now comes in a cream sauce. He took the cost of that dish off the bill. You would think the server might have mentioned that when I ordered it, but oh yeah -- he didn't have a clue. So awful service, poor food, and improper management -- absolutely no reason to ever go back. read more

My husband and I read the reviews and despite the negative review, decided to give it a try. I should have listened to the negative review. Horrendous is being too kind. The place is run by inexperienced teenagers, who eventually show up to take your order as though they are doing you a favor. I ordered eggplant parmesan and in my entire life, I did not know it was possible to make eggplant slices thinner than a dime. The sauce tasted as though it had been sitting around for longer than it should have. Even the pasta tasted off! My husband had the chicken parmesan and said that it was like eating a piece of cardboard. Worst restaurant so far in the area. read more

Came on a Saturday, where they have a 2-1 on beers for the CFB games. Win. Ordered 10 wings and a cold chicken cutlet sub. The wings were solid as discussed in other posts, the hot is not overpowering so if you enjoy spicy, get the hot. Their bread is really good, their sub was very enjoyable. A touch more expensive than expected, but will be back for sure. It's a trip back to some childhood memories of pizza shops while growing up. 80's music blaring in the back ground, the kids of the owner taking orders and cleaning tables. The owner having a personal conversation with alma or every customer that came in during lunch. Good food, great environment. Will definitely be back. read more

We waited 1:45h for delivery of three pizzas after offering to pick them up if it would be faster. The round pizzas were just ok. They were on the salty side and very average. The Sicilian pie was better but not worth the wait. read more

Had Mona Lisa (the penne, with a beautiful pink tomato sauce, not the girl), but the dish was delicious (don't know about the girl). Good salad and Chianti. Good garlic knots. Poor cannoli (should never order it after Casa Mia). Pleasant if unspectacular meal. read more

Just picked up a pizza to try them out. The sauce tastes like there's a chemical in it. I was going to bring it back but too much trouble so I threw it out. The fired mozzarella is only breading, I think the cheese must have dissolved in the frying process. Not impressed. If you want good pizza, go to Grimaldi's. read more

On a busy day I have to eat fast food and other like garbage to get through the day was referred to this restaurant by a good friend as soon as you walk in your hit with this great aroma of what you could only classify as true Italian cooking the guys behind the counter were all great. best pizza in the area by far! we are serious pizza people from new York. been to John's, Totonno's, Arturo's that are literally the first pizza shops in the country and still operating by the same families. this is among the best non coal fired pizza I have had anywhere. prices are actually too low for the quality. we usually eat there to get it fresh from the oven before the box changes it. very pleasant clean little dining room .beer always ice cold. everything we have tried has been homemade and outstanding,actually better than we have experienced in most full blown Italian restaurants in the area. we certainly do not understand the negative reviews read more
