On a long roadtrip nearing dinner time and this was the spot we decided to stop as it was right on our route. So no detours was a big plus. The host who sat us was friendly and greeted us with a smile. Our server was also friendly and helped with menu questions. She did say her favorite thing was the Alfredo sauce that I did not happen to try but will make sure to try if I stop here again. She sold it well especially a Cajun version they have. Also despite the BBQ menu picture I posted they are currently rebuilding their BBQ so it's not currently available. The inside did feel a little dated overall as from some reviews and the date they were posted this place has been around for awhile. But I assume it's a spot where many locals come often and gather to see each other while grabbing a bite or drink. Both my wife and I didn't want anything too crazy with a long ways to still go on our trip. Each of us chose one of their wraps, I went with chicken ranch and she went with the chicken Cesar. Both were tasty but I preferred the chicken tenders used in mine over the grilled in the Cesar. Both were very tasty though. They have a large variety of offerings on their menu, wraps, burgers, pizza, pastas, soups, salads, etc. Everyone will find something they can eat. When you are brought the bill you are told its price for cash and card will be charged a 3% fee. So if you have cash it will be cheaper so you are aware. Overall prices aren't the highest or lowest kinda average in my mind. I thought the service was great and friendly, food was good but not mind blowing. Worth checking out. read more

Look at James T.'s review. Basically the same thing, but for dinner. We went to the Father's Day Buffet last night. When we walked in, we waited a while to be greeted and seated, even though there were no other customers in front of us. One server walked right past without even acknowledging us. The salad bar was shameful. Some of the toppings were soaking in ice water from the set up. The meatballs tasted worse than Spaghettio meatballs. The soup tasted like it came from a can or a bag. The Alfredo sauce was inedibly broken. The entire buffet table was dirty and the carpets were absolutely filthy and disgusting. Our server seemed like she just did not care. I don't recommend the Sunday breakfast buffet. The restaurant appears to be short handed and the brunch is unpleasant and chaotic. I have eaten here many times for lunch and dinner and the experience is consistently excellent, but a brunch it's a completely different atmosphere which I would recommend avoiding. read more

First time in Vermont. We stayed in St Albans. We drove to Angelo's based on a recommendation from a local resident. Everything we ate was so yummy and Sam, our waitress, was so great! We were driving by and saw all the flags out front, instead of stopping atMcDonalds , we decided on a sit down meal. Waitress Sam was extremely friendly and welcoming. The daily special was a rodeo burger, (sounded really good) also they had French onion soup and cream of mushroom, made fresh daily. Sam was extremely knowledgeable on the menu. We ordered the supreme pizza, the peppers and onions were fresh, pepperoni, hamburger meat and sausage were the other toppings. The crust is made daily in house. The pizza was delicious. Typically we go here for pizza, cheese fries, taco salad, Alfredo pasta, onion rings, and much more. While all of it is good food let me tell you about amazing. I just had their BBQ sampler and what a pleasure. I got the sampler and add a person and it was so much food I didn't dare to attempt to finish it with father. We got there at 6:20pm on Saturday night and the host seated outside right away, brought us menus and everything. And that was the last meaningful interaction we had. There were seven tables of people outside, and two of them got attention from the waitstaff, while the rest of us got literally nothing. After twenty minutes of waiting I donned my mask and walked back in the front door. The host immediately was attentive, and I asked him To bring us four glasses of water while we waited for them to take our orders. Ten minutes later (thirty minutes in), sans water, we left and went back to our AirBnB and cooked ourselves a lovely meal. Its got resort town pricing, akin to a tourist trap locale in Lake George or Placid, which is a stretch for Rouses. Kids pasta Alfredo was $10.99 which is waay high for the area. Additionall charge for credit card use on already high prices agitated me. This is not standard for the area. Service was friendly, but slow, simple food order of pasta and 1 pizza took very long when there were only 2 tables. Table seated 10 min after us got appetizer and food order before us. Bathrooms were dirty. Restaurant was fairly dirty when we walked in with several uncleared tables. Food was good, but nothing special for the price. Waitresses were nice and no one was rude or anything. Angelo's is our favorite go to place in Rouses Point. My family and I have been going there every Friday night for pizza for over 5 years. We also go there occasionally on other nights when Dad doesn't feel like making dinner. The waitstaff is most friendly and efficient. They take my order and get our food to us quickly and correctly. The owners always greet us at some point in the visit. Their Chicken BBQ and BBQ hamburger are to die for. I love the BBQ sauce they use. They also have what I think is the best pizza in the area and my kids love their desserts. I never hesitate to take out of town guests here when they are visiting. This place sucks. What an experience. Let me tell you the story. Came here with my parents and little brother while on vacation from LA. First thing we ordered were onion rings, there was a long peice of hair on top. Our so called 16 ounce prime rib came out like a 4 ounce cube steak. And was so tough and dry which we then brought it to attention to the waitress who then called on the manager. The manager instead of being accommodating and apologetic was rude and stood behind his proudful food. He defended his restaurant and only suggested to take our soda drinks off the bill. We up and left and he decided to try and embarrass more (like we weren't all ready) by having his staff stare us down from the windows as we drove away. I have mixed reviews about this place. I always saw a lot of people eating at this place which much be good to check out. I've gone twice. The first visit, I went with a friend. I got the soup du jour which was split pea and the manicotti. The split pea soup was the most disgusting soup I ever tasted in my life. It tasted like flour, like gobs of it! I thought who would make a split pea soup that tastes like flour? Obviously someone young, clueless in the kitchen that never tastes the food first. Even more so, flour isn't even needed in split pea soup. They had no problem to take it back and not charge me for it. The salad came before dinner. It came in a plastic to-go bowl with a to-go container for the dressing. I thought this was odd as this was a sit-down restaurant that uses dishes and silverware. This was contradictory. The salad had no creativity, really basic iceberg and few other veggies and a very generic dressing. I did not bother to finish it. The manicotti was really good. I loved their marinara sauce. I ate the whole thing. I'm usually picky about pasta and their sauce, so it speaks volumes if I'm eating the whole thing. My friend ordered the BBQ Chicken sandwich w/fries. The BBQ sauce was too die for! It was a really yummy sandwich with a killer sauce. The fries were average frozen kind, nothing spectacular about them. It seemed strange that they would have some dishes that were great, and then also have some dishes were just ranked bottom. Another day, I ordered a vegetarian pizza. Not bad. After my last visit I am throwing in the towel. The food there just sucks, plain and simple. I have tried their pizza, pasta, burgers, salads; all garbage. I am convinced that the residents who frequent this establishment think that SpaghettiO's are a the end all be all of Italian cuisine.
