Just would like to start with the fact that we used to order from Angelo's in the past and the meal was always very good. Today one of my favorites the eggplant parmesan sandwich wasn't good. The eggplant was always thin and tender. Today it was thick and chewy. My wife's mussels weren't the same either. The sauce tasted different like they changed the recipe. If i could give Angelos a negative star review I would! I have never posted a negative review about any business. If I spend my time reviewing, it's gotta be pretty darn good, to help local businesses, but this was above and beyond BAD experience. I ordered 2 pizza pies and 3 servings of chicken tenders for a party Sunday during football playoffs in the eve from Angelo's. I understand they were busy and perhaps rushed. Why Angelo's? I've stopped by there previously and grabbed slices randomly, which were always decent. The pizzas and chicken were delivered an hour later from Fairview to Edgewater. Worst pizza and chicken I or any of my guests have ever eaten!!! Everyone was hungry and still ate practically nothing. I ended up throwing the pies out and ordering wings from wingstop on Uber Eats. The mishap was very embarrassing in front of hungry guests. When I contacted the business following day, lady was professional and Julio called me back. Then randomly someone showed up to my house to collect the "evidence" as if it was a crime scene. I would have liked a simple sorry and reimbursement, but instead they offered me credit which I definitely do NOT want and will never ever return to use. I got the pan pizza and 12 garlic knots and DON'T SLEEP ON THIS PLACE. You're able to get the specialty pie (BBQ ranch) and it was go good. The pan pie was thick and the crust was crunchy. My partner and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this pizzeria and its staff. We visit from New York once a month to visit with family and see our dentist. The staff is really patient with us and calls us to check of we are still coming for our pizza if we take too long due to travel. But most importantly, their pizza tastes the BEST. Disappointing. I ordered from Angelo's recently after viewing their colorful coupon circular and deciding to give them a chance. I went for the 18" X-large pizza with 12 garlic knots and 12 boneless wings + 2L soda combo for $24.95. I tried ordering on their website but they asked for creating and login so called instead. But not before realizing that margherita pie would cost $2.95 extra and that clicking "With Sauce" on garlic knots cost another $1.00 extra. The guy on the phone took my order but seemed somewhat deceptive, not proactively telling me what the extra costs are. I had to ask and confirm that margherita was extra, and then when I asked whether the sauce was extra for garlic knots just to double confirm, he said "it's 50 cents additional." It didn't seem to match what the website said - $1 for sauce, period, but I just said ok. They arrived in 40 minutes which was within the promised time, and the pizza was HUGE. But the bill had also grown to $30 and change, and with delivery tip I was out $32. Food - I quickly noticed that garlic knots came with TWO sauces. Then does that mean I could've just not say anything and save 50 cents yet still get one sauce? It's not a big deal but then the website as well as the dude was misleading. These kinds of poor communication irks me. Oh wells. Now, the knots were HARD... nearly unchewable... and very greasy that the paper bag soaked through in grease. They had the flavor but couldn't eat more than a few. The wings were too salty though sauce was tasty. Pizza was decent with okay sauce but lacked crispiness and basil leaves were just few sad black threads strewn around here and there. (See pic) I'm not sure if it was intentional but their near-deceptive communication about their menu items, combined with average food firmly landed them in the land of "Eh-xperience." If I could give this place negative stars I absolutely would. They are absolutely horrible. Staff and all. Order a 23$ pie, $14 pasta and a 2 liter which turned out to be $4.50 for a grand total of $47+ a tip (Note the soda was not as advertised as on the website for $2.39) Took over an hour and a half to get here little over. After an hour of waiting I call them asking "how much longer on the order" to which I get a reply "7-8 more minutes", call again get told "driver will be there soon we promise the food won't come cold" (mind you this is about 10 minutes after calling the first time to ask about the order) and what do you know the food comes ICE COLD! Much like a recent reviewer who mentioned seeing Angelo's special of an 18" pizza, 12 wings, 12 garlic knots and a 2 lite soda for $24.95, we gave it a try because it's a fair price. I've lived here for 5.5 years, and despite never being particularly impressed with the pizza or knots at Angelo's, we want to support the local pizza shop during these tough times. And, much like a recent reviewer's experience, the price magically escalated by time We picked it up. We were quoted the $24.95 total was now $27.14 at checkout, the extra being attributed to tax in our minds. However, that wasn't correct as the tax would not have added another $2+. Another charge was added somewhere but we figured for maybe 50 cents of difference, it isn't worth debating. When we arrived to pay the total was $28.21. I asked how was it now another dollar more? The young lady at the register pointed to a sign saying they now charge something like 3.75% more for using a credit card. I was not just surprised, I was annoyed and asked "Is this something new?" Both she and the guy who makes the pizza said yes, they just started this new credit card charge. I told them this is not only ridiculous, it is completely deceptive. We had ordered 20 minutes earlier and asked for the total, and that was when it should be explained that it will be about $1 more if we use a credit card. Then the customer would get to choose to pay cash and save money. And, it's not the amount that was annoying, it was the clear deception. I'm not posting this to say the food was terrible or I want a refund. I am posting this so the owner knows a local resident who supports this local business is appalled being charged extra for using a credit card with absolutely no notice. We order delivery from Angelo's at least twice a month. (We use to order more frequently, but we are trying to cut down on ordering out.) I LOVE ordering delivery from here because it is super easy to order from my iPad, and the order comes out perfect when you submit it online. They also have a promo when you order online to save 10%, and you earn points with each order, which eventually earns free food items. After you order online you also receive text updates letting you know when your order left, and you can estimate in your mind how long it will take to arrive at your front door. The best items to order from here in my opinion are SANDWICHES, and pizza. My husband loves to order sandwiches, and he loves them from here. Where to start, maybe at the least cook the pie, this is the worst pizza in Fairview and the surrounding area. The slice is raw and soggy, the slice won't even hold up right. Topping on the pie were uncooked, It feels like they put the pie in the oven and as soon a the cheese melted they took it out and sent it out the door. Fine that had topping and won't hold up, now for the plain slice, by far the worst ever so soggy and falls on its on weight. Next the wings were the dry and seemed pre-cooked, we asked for hot sauce and no joke the sauce was on the bottom of the try and ZERO sauce on the wings. My wife and I order here at least once or twice a week. Last Friday we ordered from here and I got a shrimp palm sandwich as it was a Friday during lent the shrimp had a chemical taste to them, and I have not felt good since. Probably the cleanest pizzeria I've been to. Usually when I walk into a mom and pop pizzeria it looks old and run down. Even though this location fairly old it still looks like they've bought the place yesterday. Angelos has a great selection of pizza slices from grandma to honey mustard chicken. I typically go for the grandma and BBQ chicken slices. You really can't go wrong with those. The BBQ chicken has ranch (I believe) on it and it goes really well with the BBQ sauce. I absolutely love this spot! My family and I order from here probably a solid 3 times a month? Regardless, the pizza is amazing! My go to is margarita and the chicken frances pizza! If you haven't tried the frances pizza, you definitely should! I used their online points system and I always rack up enough point to get free entrees. We love the chicken parm sub and the chicken adriana is delicious! I have not had any bad experience with Angelos. There was this one time they forgot my salad, but I called and they told me the next time I order I would be able to get it.
