Ok it has been a few years since I've eaten at Koronet. But I've eaten lots of Koronet slices over the years. Ate there a bunch late night as a undergrad from 2003 to 2007 and then as a grad student from 2012 to 2014. Was definitely there for my 10 year reunion in 2017 and the last time I taught a class at Teacher's College I bought a whole pie to celebrate the occassion. It came in two boxes. Mayor Mamdani also likes Koronet and once said he devoured two slices there. I think I did that once, but certainly couldn't do it today. In any case, Koronet is a reliable very good slice of pizza. Nostalgia tour - been 11 years since my last slice. This was my first food spot I hit after we arrived. Went with my son and we had a great time. At least 3 languages were spoken after midnight, and the fresh huge slice was amazing! Same as it ever was. I hadn't been here in years since their large slice made me sick but found myself in the area and decided to try it again. The slice was good this time. There are nitpicks I have about the pizza itself - I wish it had more sauce, and the crust is a little too hard and breaks when you fold it - but as a fan of NY pizza I'm still happy with it overall.
