Five out of Five dining experience at this gem! I was in wonderment from the first moment I arrived. I found this place of course on Yelp, and saw from some pics that it was styled as a 50's diner, but let me just say the pics don't do it justice! If you are a Marilyn Monroe, Elvis, James Dean, Lucy etc. Fan you will absolutely adore this place! The decor is absolutely amazing! Some restaurants like this, don't get me wrong are chalked way to full of memorabilia, which is great but sometimes can make the place look a little too crammed. This was not the case at Angel's! So amazing! The food was great! We ordered their fried green tomatoes to start with. I highly recommend them! Mmm mmm! For my main course I wanted to try what they are famous for, their bbq. It was absolutely so juicy and the onion rings that came with it were so crunchy and delicious! It also came with a side of green beans that had bacon in them. Very flavorful! Our waitress, although her name slips my mind, was very upbeat and provided us with exceptional service! Really, from the first moment we walked in, everyone was incredibly welcoming! ---------- Impression The server we got was not very nice nor was she at all moving at a speed one might expect at a diner, especially one fifties themed. The atmosphere was nice, no screaming brats. The cooks were more warm and welcoming than our server. Who has yet to say her name or show a name tag. There were 2 servers, Mary and someone else. The someone else is whom we had. Mary seemed quite nice and was always running around taking care of her tables. Mary is the one that came out and told us there was a problem in the kitchen, not our server who has yet to reappear. ---------- The food The hand breaded chicken fried steak was cooked and prepared very well. This is a really small town and as an out of Towner, we had to take recommendations . Pinky's as I like to refer to them as , always tends to hit the spot for me and my classmate. The wait to get your food , depending on day and time can be a bit long. The menu could also be a bit more descriptive and maybe include some pictures because just looking at the current menu style nothing stands out , and I believe that alone is doing them a disservice . So it's for that reason , I being here for only two weeks for training , and being a breakfast guy,ordered the same thing everyday , cause we were there literally everyday . However I did get the chance to try and see more of their food and it all looked good and looked amazing , especially their fried catfish . The fried shrimp dinner was amazing I got the 7 fried shrimp and they were of decent size but very tasty best fried shrimp I have had in a very long time. The shrimp comes with two sides, very large portions and a roll. Great friendly fast service. Many awesome deserts to chose from but I went with turtle pie. read more

The food looked amazing, but we wouldn't know. We waited a while for an outside table (as we had our dog) only to then be told the table they had for us had been "taken" by people who ordered take out and then decided to stay. Um...ok. Eventually, the server asked that couple to take an open inside table because we couldn't. Awkward, but thankfully they obliged. So we sat down and after about 20 minutes of 3 servers addressing the tables right next to us with no acknowledgement of us, I went in and straight up asked if we could get service. The waitress said she thought someone else had our table, apologized and followed me out with menus and took drink orders. After about 10 more minutes with no drinks or coming back to take food orders, one of the other servers finally stopped by and asked if we'd be helped. We told her our situation, she scoffed at the other server's error, said she'd take care of us right away & then left for another 5+ minutes without reappearing. Our infant daughter was losing patience and overheating since we didn't even have drinks yet, so we gave up and left. I understand things are different post-Covid, but this was ridiculous, especially when they could only operate at 50% capacity. Can't imagine how bad service is at 100%. Unless you have two hours to kill, I'd go elsewhere. read more

We stopped here Sunday while on a road trip. I found this place on Yelp and agree with most of the reviews! The diner is a very cute 50's looking place! The staff is super nice and while they were busy, service was good. We had the chicken fried steak and it was really good and meaty! The mashed potatoes were good but tasted instant. I am a mashed potato snob and really only like fresh. The fried okra was excellent!! We would eat here again for sure, I'd get fries instead of mashed potatoes though!! Amazing Diner!!! We stopped here on the way back from Robbers Cave. After a long hike, this is exactly what we needed. Food was some of the best we've had and we travel everywhere. I don't know if the food is good because we never got served . We walked in and they said seat yourself, so we did . When they say family diner they mean it because they waited on friends and family and ignored us . Took almost an hour to get our food. Chicken fried steak was average. Dumplings were not good at all. The 10 oz Ribeye is about 4 oz of fat but what meat there was my wife said had a good flavor. Didn't get my mashed potatoes with my chicken fry. Waitress was seen so seldom I just ate the baked potato instead. Brought my grandfather in law the wrong tea. Not a good first impression. Love to eat here! It's a diner! Very 50's with the music to boot. The decor is right out of a fifty's diner as well as the cook and kitchen. This place is actually really nice. The food is really good. However, the service is so bad that it might actually ruin your night out. It is really bad. I have tried to give this place several chances. And the service was terrible. Last night, they had a new girl waiting tables, and she was doing great. But it was obvious her coworker was content with her struggle. We waited 30 minutes for our waitress. We even tried getting the attention of the other waitress who walked by our table a few dozen times, clearly avoiding us. This happened on more than one visit. I would like to go into more details. The hub and myself had the half order of chicken friend steak with mashed potatoes and gravy, a small bowl of pinto beans and a roll for sides. Eclectic 50s themed diner that's a good place to stop and rest on a long trip to Dallas. Breakfast served all day, but also classic diner options available for lunch and dinner. I went for the philly cheese steak sandwich and some chicken and dumplings for my side. The contents of the sandwich were good, with them actually using real steak. Plenty of mushrooms, peppers, cheese and meat. Wasn't served on a roll as advertised, but instead just plain toast, which was disappointing. Also disappointing was the chicken and dumplings. I sadly watched as one of the cooks disappeared into the back kitchen, came out with a measuring cup of soup and heated it up in the microwave. This translated into a luck warm side dish, with no much dumpling and a rare piece of chicken. Would have hoped for a bit of better experience for the price, but if I'm in the area again, we'll just go for one of the variety of breakfast dishes they offer. read more

We stopped at Angel's Diner on the way to Northwest Arkansas. It's not destination worthy but a good place to stop if you are not interested in fast food. I had the BLT which is one of the better ones I've had. The bread was toasted but soft so it didn't scrape the roof of your mouth (sometimes it's the little things) and had some very crispy and tasty bacon. It wasn't a huge sandwich but a good size. The fries it was served with were okay, they put crab seasoning on top of it which helped. My boyfriend had the fried bologna sandwich which he really liked. The service was really good and the decor is cute with a '50s theme. If you are driving through, it's a nice place to stop. BTW, it's self-seating in case you stand there wondering what to do like we did. read more

This was by far the best place I have stopped on a road trip!!! The food was really good and the staff was excellent. They were friendly, extremely accomodating, and very proud of where they worked and even gave us a mini tour of the restaurant and gave us history of their artwork and how they became the restaurant they are today. They even had reading glasses available in the steakhouse area in case you couldn't read the menu in the dim light. Next time we take a road trip to Texas I will try to maneuver our trip so we can eat here again!!! read more

Stopped here for lunch while driving from Houston to Tulsa. Fun little spot with very good food. Have never seen pink parking lot stripes! We had simple food - a burger, patty melt, and fries. Burgers were tasty and not dry and the fries had the right crisp. Service was quick and friendly. Drinks were always topped up. The 50s theme was a nice touch to make the diner a little different.
