Looked for a new spot to grab some breakfast and found this spot. It's a small place and easily overlooked while driving by. The lady working there is very friendly and gives great service. I ordered the breakfast burrito and bf got chilaquiles. The food came out hot and fresh. There were a lot of people ordering food to go. They're only opened for breakfast and lunch, they close at 2. They have a small parking lot, they're located next to the Sinclair gas station. I will be back to try out their other items. read more

This hole-in-the-wall café is a gem you shouldn't miss! Angel's Café serves up some fantastic breakfast dishes with a delicious Latino twist. Sure, you can get your usual bacon, eggs, and sausages--but their chorizo takes center stage here, and it's a must-try. I ordered the Chorizo Benedict, and it was amazing! The chipotle sauce on top had just the right amount of kick without being overpowering. My boyfriend got the Meat Lovers Omelette--the sausage was a bit overcooked, but overall still tasty. Both the hash browns and country potatoes were perfectly done (I didn't even have to ask for extra crispy!). The coffee was on the stronger side, but it was nice that we could take it to go. I usually order the American breakfast, eggs scrambled hard, bacon, grilled English muffin, hash browns and coffee. Sometimes I order the chilaquiles which are excellent or a burrito to go. Definitely put a good serving of the homemade salsa on everything. It's solid good food but best of all, Lupe, the owner, who often takes my order, not only knows my name but knows my order. She lets me practice my Spanish. She asks about my dog. There is such a neighborly feeling of warmth. Maybe you can get fancier food somewhere else but you won't find a place with more heart. read more

I stand by my old review. Still to this day, I have yet to try another dish because why mess up a good thing? Chilaquiles for the win! I prefer an egg cooked with a runny yolk when eating my chilaquiles, but have yet to determine which methods of cooking that is, so that's really the only thing that changes for me. I oddly really like a grilled English muffin with this dish as my toast, though I know it doesn't really go. Spicy is in the description, but I would say there was a kick and not too spicy (I usually add more spice). I took my partner here for the first time and thought I would add the following information because it can be confusing. First, parking is easily available either in the parking lot next to the restaurant or on the street. Second, after you walk in go ahead and seat yourself. Third, when ready to pay just head to the counter in the back to pay. Fourth, if possible cash tip is preferred. Found this spot sunday morning as a recovery meal from the previous night out with friends! Called over the phone to order 2x Angel's Breakfast burritos w/ steak for a total of $15. First of all, the prices here are amazing (5/5). Second, the service is very generous and the workers are extremely nice! If I were writing this 100% purely on the taste of Angel's food, I'd go a full 5. But in reality I'm choosing 4 and that only because 1/2s aren't available. For me, the entire experience is part of the rating. Angel's food is quite tasty and well done. The portions and variety are reasonable enough to match with any appetite. So that's all good. What isn't so good? The decor for one. Angel's is absolutely nothing to look at inside (while outside, their paint scheme is almost migraine-inducing) and in desperate need of at least some fresh interior paint and updated lighting. Also pricing. For the price, there's plenty of other options within 5-6 minutes. Again, the food itself is pretty good, but bring plenty-o-bank. Just my opinion, YMMV. read more

It was my first time trying this restaurant out. I never knew there was a breakfast spot in Richmond, but I'm glad I discovered it. Indoor seating is still closed but they provide an outdoor tent with tables in the back of the restaurant. I had ordered an egg white omelette with wheat toast and hashbrown. For my drink, I ordered Mexican hot chocolate. It was delicious and I loved how the owner gave me this chocolate bomb where you put it in the hot chocolate and it explodes with cocoa powder and marshmallows inside. Great food! I was pointed here from the great guys at Pro J Cycles across the street. They told me it is their go to place, I understand why! The carnitas burrito was fabulous! Very tasty and fresh. We get takeout breakfast sandwiches at Angel's approximately once a week. We get bacon, egg and cheese on English muffin, but you can also order sausage or avocado, among many other choices. The owner and servers are friendly and professional. We eat in for breakfast occasionally as well and enjoy pancakes or breakfast burritos. Located in an area that's hardly the haunt of haute cuisine aficionados, this little (but pretty spacious) establishment proved to be quite a find. They were accommodating enough to make my stuffed omelette with egg whites. The omelette stuffed with mushroom, spinach, onions, zucchini, and cheese (I passed on the cheese) was really good. I loved their country fried potatoes with the crispy on the outside but soft inside chunks of potatoes with the well seasoned onions and red peppers enhancing the flavour really well. I also tried K's hash browns and it was really really good; she said it was probably the best hash browns she's had in a very long time --- the potato shreds were not mushy and you could tell someone did a very good job of patting them dry. They had enough starchiness to stick together but at the same time separated easily at the touch of a fork; the texture was perfect that even the potatoes inside the crust was on the verge of crunchiness but still just soft. Her croissant sandwich special with turkey had real slices of turkey and not the deli slices. Though she asked for the one with tomato and lettuce, the messed up the order and made the one *without* the latter two. Nonetheless she said it was really good with just the cheese and the avocado.
