Menu for the day

Great food My son-in-law and I both had fish and chips which was pretty good! They do have malt vinegar. You just have to request it. I also had their chowder of the day, which was really good! It was made with rockfish. My daughter had the bouillabaisse and that was really good. I wish I had ordered that! The only complaint was it's a long way to get there from the exit! This of course is beyond their control! I would go while the light is still out. Do not go after dark because the roads to the restaurant are not lighted! Would definitely go again, but while there's still sunlight out, lol!

Date night at this little gem was special and food was amazing. It is somewhat a little eerie driving through the windy road but once you reach the end, its very sweet and cozy spot. The dining area is outdoor so come prepared with a jacket just in case however, if you don't have one or your date is at arms length away, you can adjust the heater to your liking. Caesar Salad - i love me a fresh crispy salad and this def satisfied that Fish and Chips - HUGE tender pieces of fish and my favorite, fries Brazilian Fish Stew - Great flavor, lots of fresh seafood Service was great, food was amazing. We were stuffed after our meal but luckily this place is located along a pier. We walked off our meal and admired the art installations on the open grass area.

Fish and Chips, Harbor Chowder (top)

Stopped in for lunch on a weekday with nice weather. This place is kind of off the beaten path behind Chevron but has pretty nice views. Been meaning to try this place after seeing it pop on Eater and an article on sfgate. The menus are seasonal so they have a pretty good rotation of food. Ending up ordering the brandade app and splitting both the fish and chips and harbor chowder with the wife. The fish and chips were good, highlight of the meal. Not surprising considering from what I've read, it's what they've become known for. Other 2 however were lacking. Brandade and chowder were both lacking in flavor, eating pretty bland. If you're looking for a place with a decent view and good fish and chips this place may be worth considering. However considering how remote it is and pricey it can be, I'd probably rather make the trek over to Sausalito.

I've been wanting to try this place for a couple of years now since seeing reels of them on IG being hyped up. Located at the tip of Point Richmond on the other side of the Chevron refinery. Getting here is quite an adventure since it's out ofand off the beaten path. The road is bumpy, narrow, winding, unkempt and plenty of potholes. Be prepared to move at the edge of the road when you encounter another vehicle going the opposite direction. It's a secluded place right on the waterfront with a small community of charming boathouses. They certainly have a great view of the bay. It was a lazy Sunday afternoon, but the place was busy and had a musician playing on stage. It's definitely a whimsical place and dog friendly. The dining area is outdoors covered under a tin roof of steel/metal structure. Service was very welcoming and quite accommodating. We were initially seated near the entrance and were moved to the main dining area once it became available. We ordered a Brandade - $17 (Local Rockfish, Onion, Potatoes, Garlic, Cream and Crostini), Harbor Chowder - $14, Pizza Romana - $22 (House made sourdough w/ meat), Fish & Chips - $28 (Local Fish, French Fries and Tartar Sauce) and Richmond's own East Brother Oatmeal Stout for some libation. Everything looked good and my expectations were high. But when it came to tasting them, the flavors were surprisingly lacking and became a one note experience. A monotone of chewing without enjoyment. The best-tasting dish we had was the Fish and Chips - deep fried and seasoned appropriately. And the beer was excellent...thank goodness. But the rest were just bland to meh. The crostini were too hard; the pizza was too bready and unappetizing, and the chowder was too watery. I believe their menu is seasonal and rotating so perhaps a return visit would be a different experience. I hope, since I was looking forward to trying their Calamari, which sadly, was not on the menu. On this trip, the place didn't live up to the hype.

Quiche with salad with my cider in the background. Very tasty!

What a fun restaurant! I stopped by Sailing Goat for a late lunch with friends after a group sauna session at nearby good hot. It feels like the restaurant is in the middle of nowhere, but it is adjacent to the San Pablo sailing docks. We were lucky to stop by on a gorgeous sunny and unseasonably warm February day. there was live music playing, and the staff were in good spirits. The menu is not extensive, but it has plenty of options for every taste. I was very happy with my quiche and salad. The salad in particular seem to be composed of super fresh and just picked veggies. Portion sizes were generous. I also enjoyed a bite of my friend's fish and chips, which was super flaky and fresh. That portion was massive with three huge pieces of fried fish and a huge pile of crispy shoestring fries with tartar sauce. I also enjoyed my can of cider, which was dry and refreshing. Highly recommended!

Came here over the summer and thought it was such a cute restaurant by the water! I had been seeing Sailing Goat all over social media and wanted to see what the hype was about, and it did not disappoint! It's a little bit of a trek to get here in the car, winding and narrow roads to be aware of. But once you're in the clear and can see the parking lot, it's all worth it! It looks like all seating is outside on a deck (please correct me if I'm wrong). A portion of their kitchen is open and facing the deck, so it's nice to see the chefs cooking and the servers come out with your food. Our server that day was super friendly and patient with us as we made our indecisive selections. My cousin and I ordered the roasted spring chicken, fish and chips, and the harbor chowder. Everything was so delicious! Loved all the seafood in the soup! The fish had a light and crispy batter to it that was to die for! And the roasted spring chicken was light, protein packed, and refreshing. I believe we had a seasonal berry drink that they were serving at the time (nonalcoholic). It was sooooo good! Such a wonderful meal in a beautiful location! Highly, highly recommend!

I was not going to do this review of The Sailing Goat because we went in the early afternoon on Mother's Day. They were slammed so the fish and chips were, at best, ok. Chips cold. Fish was very greasy. So, I was not going to write this review because I'm sure it's better on non-holidays. THEN I tasted the strawberry rhubarb crumble and I was in heaven. I love this combination but the warm spices and the real whipped cream brought it together when it arrived piping hot!! If I had only had this I would have given it five stars. That's the food. The location and grounds are remarkable. Giant metal sculptures are impressive and would delight kids of all ages (yes, 76). I will definitely go back for another try. I expect that earlier or later on a non-holiday, the food will be better. Not the Crumble...it doesn't get better than the Strawberry Rhubarb crumble at Sailing Goat.

This was the cleanest porta-potty I've ever used. And I never use them. But my entire party was talking about it so I had to try it.

Super cute spot right on the water, just off the last exit of the Richmond San Rafael Bridge. All outdoor seating, good food, free parking, and the cleanest porta potty I've ever seen! We went early and caught a live band setting up as we were leaving, so yes, they do live music too. Service was friendly but a little too eager. We were catching up with friends and our waiter kept checking in every few minutes. Still, the food was great and the view was amazing. If you want a chill spot with waterfront vibes and good eats, check this place out. You'll love it!

Totally cool place to check out. Party of 6 adults with 6 kids under 3 fabulous time. No real kids menu although they can do a grilled cheese. The Fish & Chips is what everyone ordered along with salads for the adults. Delicious salads and fresh. The Harbor Chowder was good too. Service was very laid back, filled us with a water pitcher, silverware on the table with napkins makes it easy. Outdoor seating under a metal shed. Picnic tables and some tables/chairs. Hearing lamps when there is a chill. Great place for brunch too, next time we will definitely come for brunch. Live music Saturdays & Sundays, 1-4. Oh main point is most of the menu is Gluten-free. Fish & chips has a dedicated fryer for the Gluten-free breading. Very crispy, fish very moist. Check it out!

"Spicy" Seafood Stew

This place is really tucked away in Point San Pablo Harbor...so much so that the drive there might make you question whether there's even a restaurant at the end of the road. But sure enough, a really cute spot by the marina stands the Sailing Goat. We arrived around 11am on a Sunday, which was perfect timing. It wasn't too busy yet, but by the time it got closer to lunch, the line outside started building up. I'd recommend coming a bit earlier and drive carefully on the way in lol We were seated within about 10 minutes and had menus in hand while we waited. The main reason I'm giving this place 3 stars is the ambience. Sitting outside next to the water, al fresco, is always a win for me. As for the food, it was honestly pretty average. I did learn that their menu changes from time to time, so experiences may vary depending on what's offered. Here's what we tried: Mackerel Tin Spread (8/10): Served straight from a sardine tin, but dressed up with arugula, bell pepper salsa, and buttery toasted sourdough. Tasty, though a bit overpriced for what it was. Mimosa (9/10): Exactly what a mimosa should be, no complaints. Fish and Chips (8/10): The batter was light, buttery, and delicious. It might come across as salty to some, but I enjoyed it. The fish was fresh, tartar sauce tasted house-made, but the fries and ketchup were pretty standard. Seafood Stew (3/10): Described as spicy, but it had zero kick. While the seafood itself was good, the broth was thin and bland more like the kind of soup you'd serve someone who's under the weather. Definitely a miss for me. Total bill amounted to almost $200, which I could say we're paying for the experience. I'd come back to see what their other menus offer.

After seeing enough reels online about this restaurant, I decided that it was time to finally check it out! We were a large party of 8 and expected to have a long wait time, but it turned out to only be about 15ish minutes. If you do have to wait long, you can walk around the corner to the bar and have a drink while you wait. To eat, my boyfriend and I shared the seafood stew and fish & chips. The stew was the big winner for me because of how much seafood they actually put in the dish! I was very impressed. I also loved that the fish had a light batter and came with a delicious tartar sauce. Pro tip: pack your hat and wear some sunscreen because even if the temperatures aren't high, the sun sneaks up on you out here.

What a view! This restaurant took over the Pirate BBQ spot. It's a nice venue and they have regular entertainment on the weekends, which makes it worth the effort to travel and hang out for appetizers and a drink. We had a nice meal and a couple of cocktails. We had the fish and chips, seafood stew, a salad and appetizer. The food was all good, but the service is not the best. Maybe they're having challenges with people driving out to Point Molate, who knows, but don't go there if you're in a hurry. It's still a great spot to just enjoy the scenery, have a beer or cocktail, appetizer and relax! We're always in such a hurry these days, and stressed to .... Get it now! Just chillax and smell the fresh seafood and bay breeze. You won't regret it!

Seafood daily soup special, gem salad and fish and chips. And my sister!

Whenever we have guests in town we take them to Sailing Goat. It's an adventure just to make it to the restaurant! Once you get there it's a super sweet place w gorgeous views and kind staff. Food is pricey, but everywhere is pricey (right??), and it's all local fish. The fish and chips are our favorite - get that. Homemade tarter, yum. Take a walk along the harbor and check out all the art installations. Enjoy!

Shout out to the chefs, Youssef- quirky guy, and Khephra- loved that she chatted w the kiddos! Sweet folks who were attentive, personable, quick to respond to whatever the boss babies needed! Everything was great especially the white chowder, fish tacos, and soft shell crab bao tacos, except the pasta con vongole was too salty. After looking at the pictures we decided we have to come back on Saturday. On Saturday the wait was 50 minutes, and the line went all the way around the fence. So many of the specials including the whole fish, which we went back for, got taken off of the list while we were waiting...tragic. If you're going on the weekend beware!! We ate in at the restaurant this time as we didn't have a reservation to get to. The outside was pretty hot and there's some seating inside and also in an adjacent room that nobody seemed to notice. We were still able to get 2 specials: rockfish ceviche and dumplings. The dumplings were so good - their homemade chili sauce is sweet and a mild spicy that builds. Booking the place was pretty easy, just called them up and they were able to get us a reservation for a table of 6 on a Sunday evening. Upon arrival,I was kinda blown away by the decor, holiday themed with a gentleman playing the piano and a lively crowd sitting at the bar-I for sure felt like I picked the right place for my mothers special birthday celebration. We started out our meal with complimentary bread service, which was delicious and 2 starters, the meatballs($17.95) and the potato wedges($15.95)-they had fancy names but basically that's what they were. The meatballs were so great,I really enjoyed their texture and flavor. The wedges were very solid but what made them standout was this truffle aioli sauce they were served with-outstanding-I need this recipe somehow. We went with a few main dishes-Penne alla Vodka($31.50) which was very good, featuring Salmon and vodka sauce-the Salmon was so tasty it melted like butter on every bite.We also went with the Tortellini($29.25) dish which featured pork filled pasta in carbonara sauce with prosciutto-It was pretty good, especially when u got the bite just right with the tortellini and the tasty pieces of prosciutto-very yumz for sure!...In my opinion, the star of the night was my dish-I ordered Lasagne di Manzo($28.95)-which was a lasagna featuring ground beef and lots of cheese covered in Napolitana sauce-man oh man it was delicious, every bite was super tasty and not sure if it was the sauce that made the difference but the sauce gave the entree a very light feel, after eating that dish I felt light still,a feeling I only have ever gotten when eating pasta when I was in Rome-so it was a great dining experience without a doubt. In closing I would definitely recommend this restaurant if your looking for a place to share a slightly upscale dining experience where time is not a concern,a place that took me back to the casual nights I spent in Rome enjoying 2 hour+ dinner experiences filled with conversation and great company eating flawless foods-I will for sure come back to this amazing hidden gem of a spot! PS....Almost forgot-the crème brulee($12) and cappuccino($6) we had after dinner were exquisite-gave me all the pep I needed for the long drive home to Sacramento after this meal.....Be Kind out there.
