A burrito for under $10! Decided to come after visiting the Kaiser in the neighborhood. I was pleasantly surprised to find a breakfast burrito advertised on a handwritten sign. I was the first customer of about 5 other parties. I ordered one breakfast burrito without meat and one regular vegetarian burrito. Both burritos were of decent size and very filling. They came with refried beans, since I forgot to ask if they had other alternatives. Overall happy with the food and service. I have been coming here for years now; it's a local favorite. My family and I would always come for the menudo on Sundays with tortillas hechas a mano. The menudo is full of flavor and well-cooked. My brother often orders the nachos; he says they are well-served and cooked well. We recently tried their chilaquiles, and the plate is well-served. The chilaquiles are crunchy (how I prefer them) and they add rice and beans with sour cream on the side. The service is always great, I always reccomend this spot. Ok I was very skeptical of going here due to its location and reviews but I thought I'd just give it a try. I was impressed. They have a bomb hot orange salsa and a tasty red salsa. The green salsa was ok. I ordered a super chicken taco and I have no complaints. The food came with chips and salsa so that's a plus. I don't prefer thick chips like these but they were free. Nachos have had me coming back for 10 years. l used to eat the nachos here all the time with my family back in 2011-2013 and they were so tasty and affordable. I moved farther away so I wasn't able to come here as often and a long time would go by but they were prepared and tasted the same. I really thought Covid would affect the quality and price just like with everything but it's not the case here. Best hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant in Richmond. I enjoy that they make their tortilla chips, guacamole and salsa in house. The guacamole is quite tasty and the salsa is good, but sometimes you get too much liquid and not enough chunky tomatoes and onions. They use shredded cheese, which I prefer, instead of American cheese or cheese sauce for the nachos. Their burritos are good, but I wish they offered whole beans instead of just refried beans because the texture can be a bit mushy. I come here occasionally with friends. A small mom and pop shop in Richmond, not exactly in the best neighborhood, but good food at decent prices. It is located in a plaza with plenty of parking. However, you may run into some homeless people asking for some change outside. There is a good variety and lunch specials which include rice and beans. I usually order two tacos, with meat, onions and cilantro. There is complimentary basket of chips and salsa. You order up front and have the option of taking your food to go or eating at the tables. The aren't a lot of tables, but enough to have a seat if interested. The cashier and servers are very friendly and bring your food over to you. I enjoy the tacos. Best veggie burrito in east bay hands down. As a vegan it's hard to find a good burrito place that doesn't use lard in the beans or stock in the rice all while tasting delicious. I cannot believe how cheap the food is here. Considering how much I normally pay up for a burrito, this place was good. Regular burritos (basically, no sour cream/guac) were about $3, and a super burrito was $4. Large assortment of meats to choose from, including carnitas, carne asada, carne verde, pastor, pollo, and even the cow tongue stuff! There was lots of other cheap stuff to choose from. I ordered a pastor regular burrito & a horchata ($1.25) - disappointed that the pastor wasn't spicy at all. Chips were alright, but salsa was a bit watery and there was only one type. I guess I expected more salsa-y goodness at a place called Salsa Taqueria. Nevertheless, it was a pretty darn good burrito, for an incredibly exceptional price. I'd go back if I were in the area. They recently closed for a day or more.. I think they renovated or something?... Well, they're back open! Prices have gone up! And, unfortunately, food quality has gone down, way down!! It appears they have a new cook making the orders.. The carne asada tacos I've been eating from here, a dozen times or so a year for the past 7 years, is now all rubbery chewy fat, very disgusting, I spit out most of my lunch today, and the cheese on the beans wasn't melted.. CONSUMER BE WARE! DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!I went there for lunch yesterday. In my first slice of my steak quesadilla I chewed down on a big fat black razor blade. This could have sliced my tongue could have sliced my cheek or throat, but oh thank God! it did not. I Called them up and let them know I was on my way because there was a razor in my food. I got there, showed them the razor gave them my food, they looked at me, they talked in Spanish, through up her hands and said, what do you want me to do? gave me my money back. they did not check their food, they did not stop operation . they just verified yes it was a razor. I have called the safety department and everybody else I can think of. Most importantly, please consumer beware. DO NOT EAT HERE. This is not a joke. For cheap food, this place gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside. Their lunch menu has lots of choices. You can get your choice of a burrito, enchilada, tamal, chile relleno, with beans and a salad, all for under $5.00. Prices like that make me feel good when I eat out. It does get a bit crowded at lunch. The seafood items are even affordable and tasty. Only bummer is it's location. Food was cheap and average tasting at best. The people were nice. The bathroom was in desperate need of work.

My son and I came here and my son loved it. I thought it was pretty good myself, I advise you get the super Nachos.
