Came here on a cold day while running errands in the area. It is a small simple Chinese restaurant and very much reminds me of the one I grew up eating at. It was Saturday lunch so very few people and just a few staff. I ordered the eggplant lunch combo, which came with fried rice and an egg roll. The hot and sour soup had a thinner broth and a lot of visible black pepper, which was different than I've ever seen, but it was delicious. The eggplant was also great. Overall this is a great little lunch spot. Food is fast, and it's standard American Chinese food. I'll be back for sure. It's in the Publix shopping center so very centrally located. read more

It is perfect because they are open late, are super accomodating (they will use my own re-used takeout containers instead of using new ones because I want to eliminate my waste), the people who run it are so kind (they recognize me and always so hi with a huge smile on their faces), they are very fast and cook huge orders in under 10 mins, the food is so so delish. I'm a college student that lives by the area, this restaurant was always so nice to me as they have there lunch box meal and Id get it from time to time. I would always call to pick up and it was usually a lady that was really nice. I started ordering it with white rice instead of fried rice and switched out the egg rolls for wontons and she would always say yes. This past Sunday I called and a rude man had picked up the phone. Since it was the weekend I asked if they still did delivery since I usually ordered during the week. He responded "YES WE DO DELIVERY" I after apologize for asking and start giving him my usual order. Since it was my first time talking to a man I asked if I could replace the egg rolls for wontons and he tells me "so no egg rolls" and I replied yes but could I get the extra wontons and he says YES SO NO EGG ROLLS and then I apologized just for him to yell and say he couldn't take my order. This guy was rude and from the reviews seems to be this businesses problem. read more

Tried the ChinChin last night and it was terrible. We have had food from here in the past and once it was excellent and once just ok. Last night the Shrimp a Chicken meal box had three shrimp but one was mushy (bad) and the chicken was grisly thigh meat. I ate the two shrimp and the mediocre fried rice and dumped the rest. The egg roll was ok but their "famous" cheese puffs had barely any cheese so was basically deep fried dough. My wife liked her lemon chicken but, I thought it was pretty dry. The saving grace with that is the quarter inch of batter and the lemon sauce. I am thankful we didn't actually get sick but the food was pathetic. I have been going here for many years. Yet this experience was strange. I can accept that it was close to 3 pm when they stop selling lunch boxes. Let me start by saying that I use to LOVE this place. I recommended it to so many friends and family. I had been out of state for a long time travelling for work, and when I got back to MN this was the first place I wanted to eat at. I brought a group of people with me that I was excited to share this place with. However, I can tell you that after last night, I will never return to this place. I've completely erased it from my favs list. The experience: that piece of shit manager is rude as fuck! Back when this place was (and still is) a shit hole in the wall, they were desperate for customers. First, he hung up the phone on me when I was asking him questions. Then when I showed up in person he treated me and my colleagues like shit. He was so rude that even my colleagues vouched and said he is crossing the line with us. So we left. Well fu-k you mister you are clearly fu-ked up in the head. I hope you lose all your business because of your rude piece of shit self. Be grateful that you even have any customers, but especially loyal ones like me who everytime I dare of stepping for in your crack head busted ass shack looking restaurant I have to worry about my safety. There certainly is better Chinese food in the Twin Cities, but as someone earlier wrote, this is the best Chinese food in West Saint Paul. The staff wasn't the most pleasant to deal with, but all I really had to do was order over the phone and then identify and pay for my order, so no big deal. When we want Chinese (American) food, or don't feel like cooking, we always order Chin Chin. Their "Anytime Meal in a Box" are the best, with 16 different menu choices. For roughly $7, you get: 1 entree, chicken fried rice, 2 cream cheese wontons and an egg roll. You can't beat it, especially you get free delivery over $15 of food. It's such a good deal, we end up getting 3 boxes for the two of us. :) Food for thought: Highly recommend the C4 Box: Kung Pao Chicken. The Orange Chicken, Sesame Chicken and Lo Mein (regular menu) are also good here. I love beef and broccoli, but sadly that is one item on the menu I tend to avoid now. The beef, while ok, is a little below average quality. Still, the best Chinese place to order in the Mendota Heights/W. St. Paul neighborhood. read more

I have never eaten here. I'm just writing to pass along a great story a friend told me about their delivery service. We're getting a decent Minnesota blizzard today. We've been spared most of this Winter, but now King Boreas is exacting his revenge for the Eagles victory yesterday. My friend ordered delivery from Chin Chin, and the driver showed up with a plow on the front of his truck. Not only did the driver show up (always a dodgy thing during a weather event), but he plowed my friend's driveway! He answers YEA WHAT DO YOU WANT.. RUDE. And we got an order of Sesame Chicken and again used to be amazing the last 4 times keeps getting worse, so old and tough you cant chew it.
