I am SO glad Casa Grande has an Angry Crab Shack in town because I love seafood so much and this place hits the SPOT! I've always gone to Boiling Crab and Kickin' Crab when I still lived in the Bay Area so I was afraid I wouldn't find anything like it when moving to Casa Grande but it just so happens to just be around the corner from me! This plaza gets kind of packed sometimes, especially during the holiday season, so just be prepared to have to hunt for parking. I generally get a pound of head-on shrimp and a pound of green mussels, HOT and the trifecta! I find it cool that this place offers to add in fried tofu into the bag as I've never seen that before but it's definitely something new! I'd give Angry Crab Shack 3 stars. While we were looking forward to a great seafood experience, the food felt more like typical bar fare and didn't quite live up to expectations. The fish and chips were disappointing..,......the batter was soggy instead of crisp. That said, the saving grace of the visit was the staff. They were friendly, attentive, and truly made the experience better with their great service. Overall, decent experience because of the team, but the food could definitely be improved. read more

The service here was absolutely outstanding! We had the good fortune of having Sim as our server, and we're going to ask for him next time. Very knowledgeable about the menu, and really helped guide us through the choices and the process (sauces, spice levels, where they apply, and details about specific dishes). Pacing was great, too. Took the wine order first, placed our appetizer first, and just a very pleasant, helpful, personable server. Will probably try the Korean wings next time, but we really love the regular chicken wings as they are. Pretty darn crispy to start with and tender and delicious. I had the fish and chips, which was excellent, with plenty of tartar sauce, and malt vinegar and the whole deal. I substituted onion rings for the Cajun fries and I was really glad I did. A little small and a little thick on the batter but still delicious and that batter stayed right on the onion rings. The breading didn't slip off at all. My wife had the Twin Lobster Rolls and they were excellent. And really quite a good value at $32 for two of them. I mean these days it's like almost $30 for one of them. But more importantly, they tasted really good and the roll was excellent. True New England style. Now, we would've been perfectly happy to stop there, but as much as as a surprise as the chicken wings were, the bigger surprise was the dessert - fried cornbread on top of ice cream inside a mason jar with some caramel syrup. It was absolutely delicious. I was not expecting that. It completed a really excellent dining experience and we will definitely return to the angry crab shack again when in Casa Grande. I'm giving it a 3 because the food is really good and the service was good. However, if you didn't hear what the costumer said to you about what they wanted in their order when taking it to go, then maybe you should ask the person to repeat themselves. I order two Seafood boils and one was fine. It had everything. When it came to mine, they forgot the lobster and the food was cold when I got it home. We called the restaurant and the server was nice, but they proceed to tell us that I never ordered the lobster when I did.I told them 3 times. So...I don't know, Maybe they didn't hear me or weren't paying any attention. I do understand you're busy and it wasn't that loud when I came in. Next time, ask the person to repeat themselves because for the amount we paid for the two boils, yeah, my lobster should have been in there. lol The last time I went, I had no issues, but this time, I have no idea what happened. Who looks for fresh seafood restaurants in the Arizona desert? We came here hankering for fish & chips, but they have a huge menu of delicious sounding seafood options. We decided to stick with the fish & chips and it was delicious. I really appreciated being given a large enough serving of tartar sauce to slather all over my crispy outside, moist inside, beer-battered fish. The fries were seasoned with some Cajun spices. I ordered the corn bread for my second side and hubby had the red beans & rice. All the food was very tasty and servings were generous. While waiting for our meal, we enjoyed a basket of yummy fried pickle chips along with a cocktail. They have a great cocktail selection, but we both went with the SWEET PEACH LEMONADE made with Deep Eddy Sweet Tea Vodka, Deep Eddy Peach Vodka and lemonade. The service was great. We were seated with menus right away and given a moment to decide on drinks and appetizer. Our fried pickle chips and lemonades quickly arrived to be devoured while awaiting the fish & chips. Our server checked in on us regularly but wasn't annoying. The ambience is typical of a chain restaurant. It's a pretty large space and while we were there, we saw several large groups celebrating birthdays with seafood dumped-on the paper-covered tables. Clayton our server was the best. He checked on us every few minutes to see how we were doing and what we needed. The food I thought was OK. It wasn't to loud as you could carry on a conversation at your table without yelling. Could use some more choices of fish rather than just Cod & Catfish and how cooked.. If you like crab and seafood this place is really good. The service is amazing, the quality of food is outstanding and the portions are large. My family and I enjoyed it a lot. Me and my grandparents go there every Friday and get the $10 shrimp meal in the lunch menu, the food was well cooked and the trifecta sauce just hits different I recommend a 0 or a 2 for the spice. The people are so nice, whenever we go inside they already have our drinks ready. Initially we'vewere going to do crab boil but we were too hot and tired. Went the easy route with Po'boys (soft shelled crab for one, the other had cod). I wanted garlic shrimp noodles. Came by on Father's Day for dinner with the bride. Ordered a Coors Light Beer, Sampler Plate with deep fried pickles, hush puppies and wings. Also got the Jambalaya for me and the Lobster Rolls with onion rings. Deep fried pickles and hush puppies were wonderful. Chicken wings were dry and overcooked. Jambalaya was yummy and spicy and so good. Wife loved the Lobster rolls, but when it came they brought fries instead of onion rings, which we had to wait for. We so love getting new restaurants in town. So we visited twice the week before their grand opening! What's especially interesting is that I'm deathly allergic to shellfish. Let me say that service was awesome! Dre and Wendy really went out of their way to make our visit special! Highlights: my husband's raw oysters! He's very picky and these were pretty good. He got the sampler of shrimp, wings, calamari. He was happy with that, especially modifying the order to grill the shrimp. We were so excited to hear a seafood place was coming to Casa Grande. We waited and waited for it to open. Then, it did. So, a group of six decided to give it a try. We knew it was a chain but had never visited any of the other locations. It was a little different than we expected and the wait was rather long but that was okay. After all, that's what we kind of expected. To begin with when you are seated you are told right to begin with that the food doesn't come out at the same time. When it comes, it is delivered. What a mess that turned out to be. You never knew who was going to get what or what you were going to eat. Don't think you're going to get a salad timely because it might be the last thing you get after everyone else has eaten. That happened to us. Didn't think anything was spectacular except the chowder and it was out of this world. Food was expensive and what we had other than the chowder was just okay. I was craving lobster and ordered the lobster rolls. It sure looked delicious when it arrived, but I was quickly disappointed by flavorless lobster, soggy rolls and a total of 14 French fries. I mean, French fries should be piled high in my opinion. I don't recommend the lobster rolls and wish I had tried something different. Our kids flew in yesterday for a week's visit so we took them out for dinner. A week or so ago we went to the Angry Crab with friends and really enjoyed it. Food and service were wonderful. Last night was a huge disappointment. They brought our drinks, but not the appetizer we'd ordered after we'd been seated for about 15 minutes, then took our orders. 40 minutes later they brought Pat's order but not the other 3. We sat there for another 15 minutes or more before we stopped a wait staff to see when we might expect to get our orders. After another 10 minutes she said they'd be out soon. She's and "well we're very busy right now" to which I replied, " you were NOT busy when we arrived over 40 minutes ago". When meals finally came they were barely warm and our daughter's grits were a solid ugly, tasteless mess. Not one person came to see how our meal was. We had to flag someone down to get our bill, and that's when I let them know what our experience had been like. They were lucky we didn't just walk out. When she came back with bill she had taken 25% off each order. Because the whole night was not just bad meals but also very bad wait staff there was no tip. If anything they should have comped us the whole meal. Will really have to give serious thought to returning there again!! Wish I could have given a negative 1 star. read more
