I've been coming to Angry Orchard since they first opened to the public, back when tastings were actually free! It's been incredible to watch how much they've grown and expanded over the years. As someone who lives nearby, it's nice to see a local place become such a popular destination. Today, they offer seasonal events, live music, lawn games, expanded tasting spaces, food trucks, and even the Tree House experience, which I've done a couple of times and really enjoyed. The ciders are consistently delicious, and the food trucks always offer great options. My favorite time to visit is definitely the fall. Sitting by the fire pits with a fresh cider and warm cider doughnuts is hard to beat. That said, weekends can get extremely busy, so I usually recommend visiting during the week if you want a more relaxed experience. The only downside, in my opinion, is that it's become very crowded. When the tour buses arrive, the atmosphere can start to feel more like a tourist attraction than the laid-back orchard it once was. I think limiting attendance a bit during peak times would create a more enjoyable experience for everyone. I'm also not a big fan of having to rent the sidelines, as it adds to that commercialized feel instead of the relaxed winery atmosphere that many people are looking for. Overall, it's still one of my favorite places to gather with friends and family. An update to my original review. It's still a really cute place - it's beautiful and you are surrounded by apple orchards. Since the original review a lot has changed. No more self guided tour. No more free flights. The food is now served from a food truck outside. The bar has many flavors on tap. I got a small cup of the purple dragon (not on the menu but you can get a small cup) and a full size cup of the non alcoholic cider. Had a great time at the cider house. The staff were all knowledgeable and kind. There were plenty of photo opportunities and activities to take part in. It's very lively especially on a weekend so I highly recommend getting there before 1pm to beat the insanely long lines. You do have the option to bring your own chairs and/or picnic blankets because seating is scarce in comparison to the large crowds. I loved it here!!!! Came on a Sunday of Memorial Day weekend with the hubs and it was lovely. The staff/bartenders are friendly and well informed. There's plenary of indoor and outdoor seating. You can do a tour, visit the treehouse, or do as we did and enjoy the lawn and live music. The band playing on Sunday was a whole vibe, Soul Sense,and added to the awesome atmosphere. Where to start.... Wanted to go on a calm date with my girlfriend and enjoy the fall festivities. Always wanted to check out Angry Orchard so after a 25 min drive we arrived. Keeping mind it was somewhat raining outside which already was showing complications. We still wanted to the place a chance. As we got closer to the main building where the food trucks and drinks were. That is when everything went down hill. There were only two food trucks with lines that would make you wait over an hour for $20'pizza. And then there was a BBQ truck that was ALL SOLD OUT. We also went to go inside to sit down, the employees told us "good luck finding seating" which was really great. Packed, no help, and nothing to drink or eat . So that left us with two options. Either wait on line for some pizza or leave. Didn't feel like dealing with my hangry girlfriend so we left. We ended up eating at a nearby town at a place called Rose Mary's pub and grub. I really do love this place! Upon driving in, we were directed to bear left and head to the rear parking lot #2. This was my first time going into this lot. Parking was free. Once you park, you follow a path to the "big red building", where you'll receive your wrist band which certifies you are of age to drink. You then head downstairs where there is a bar type of area for you to order drinks/food. They have tons of cider to choose from! During the fall months they seem to have more food trucks/apple cider donuts. Yesterday they had one food truck, and the pizza. We ordered the pretzel, and the grilled cheese sandwich. Both DELICIOUS! The sandwich came with sea salt chips as well. The pretzel came with 3 dipping sides; spicy mustard, some type of apple sauce, and cheese. I absolutely love this brewery! I went to Angry Orchard on Saturday 12pm. It wasn't busy when I arrived and I was able to get parking at the cider house. After my estate tasting tour (45 min), the fire pits quickly filled up around 1:30pm. It tends to get busy, but the lines move quickly. I enjoyed my fresh donuts and cider slushy outdoors sitting by the fire pits. I also stuffed my face with more food by the food truck and ate a pretzel and grilled cheese. I thought about eating more, but I tried to control myself for my next stop. There are lounge chairs, picnic tables, and sun umbrellas outside, but a few tables indoors too. I came with a big group for a tour and dinner here. We got a view of the factory and machinery and our tour guy was very knowledgeable about the process and history of the ciderhouse. They apparently grew all the apples for their ciders in house and some of the ciders brewed here are unique and not sold nationwide. We got to try two types of ciders during the tour as well. Unfortunately, the machines were very loud and it was hard to hear everything during the tour despite the guide using a microphone. The tour itself was pretty short. If you're not interested in brewing or history I would suggest skipping the tour. We then went out to the yard to have dinner. There was a big variety of cider on the menu. Many of us tried out the varieties the tour guide mentioned and some was big hits while some were more of an acquired taste. Would only recommend visiting if you have a car--as we ubered from Beacon over to here and back and whew...that was expensive! It's in a rather excluded area so you can imagine the inconvenience of trying to get anywhere nearby relying on anyone other than yourself! They let you bring your own food so we brought a large deli sandwich to eat on the patio and share with the bees. There's not much to see and the tour is rather pricey, from the treehouse option to the tastings they offer. I recommend just parking at the public lot and going up along the path by the trees over to the brewery part where you can peruse through the merch while you order your cider and then seat yourself either inside or out. I actually didn't know this place existed until my friend suggested to stop by on our way back down to NYC. It's a pretty big space. Once you get there, you're directed to the parking lot which has plenty of parking spaces. Then, you walk through the field, where you can see all the apple trees, until you reach the main cider house. But there's also a treehouse and a cider garden along the path too. They have tours available but my group of friends didn't plan ahead of time so all of the tours were booked already. Instead, we checked out the cider house where there was a good selection of ciders available, as well as frozen ciders, and you can also get some food. There were stands for donuts, non-alcoholic apple cider, and food trucks outside! There's an upstairs, which is where you walk in, and also downstairs and outdoor seating. However, there weren't many seats outdoors and it was so hot when we came that we decided to sit upstairs instead (there's also seating indoors inside but it was already so crowded). Upstairs was the least crowded and there are doors that lead to a space right next to the entrance outdoors as well. Overall, a nice casual place to relax and enjoy your time with some friends. Cool spot to check out if you're in the area. Not sure if I would go out of my way for it though. Wanted to treat ourselves after a hike and stopped by along the way to only be turned down because they were overcapacity. Was feeling a little discouraged even though they said they might re-open later, but we eventually found the additional lot behind it and they let us in. Most of the apples have fallen off the trees around this time of the season (end of October), but it was nice to walk down the orchard. When we finally got to the venue, there was a pretty long line to get your IDs checked and to get in, but it moved fast. The cider house and area is a lot smaller than I thought it would be, but we managed to find a spot to lounge at. There's a bar upstairs, downstairs and outside. The upstairs bar has the extensive menu of ciders whereas the other bars have a more condensed menu. If you're going to order a flight, you don't get to choose which ciders you want to try. Most of the ciders we ordered were very enjoyable though. I really liked the Drop Top, which is a little higher in the ABV%. For a lighter cider, the Ruby Frost was pretty good too! There's some food trucks scattered around the back and a donut stand. The donuts were sooo good and I highly recommend getting them. They are made fresh in front of you and go by quick. Each donut ranged from $3-4 and a flight was $9. The cannoli donut was by far my favorite. I had no idea that Angry Orchard had a cider house, so I was super excited to come here on a double date with my fiance. But oof - we really did not enjoy about 3/4 of the ciders in the flight. The 1/4 that we did like most closely resembled the usual Angry Orchard you would get in store. There was a cranberry pomegranate drink that was quite sweet and tasty though - would prefer that over the flight. Food isn't available by the cider house per se, but there are vendors outside. Aye Oh Donuts was there with their freshly fried up apple cider donuts (cash or venmo only) and hot cider (non-alcoholic). There was an additional food vendor out back cranking out tasty personal pizzas. Overall ambiance and vibes were good - definitely a great place for a catch up with friends if the weather is nice out. The staff upstairs when we first entered waa incredibly friendly, but some the staff downstairs was not so much (and Aye Oh Donuts was also not the kindest). The tour was short but at least it came with a big cup of the baked apple pie cider and tasting of their one other local flavors.
