My friends and i booked through source adventures to come to this farm from NYC. They picked us up on 44th & 11th Ave and we were on our way around 9:15am and got to the farm at 10:40am. It was empty! Our first stop was to try some cider which was great! I had one with rośe that was similar to wine. Afterwards, we picked some apples and took many photos. We then dropped our apples back on the bus and went to the market. The market is so nice and has so much to offer. We got some Apple cider donuts and got lunch. They accepted card and cash for lunch. The food was great wish i got photos of my salad, chicken tenders and fries. We then looked at the animals and headed back to the bus. St this point, it was really crowded! This is such a nice farm! I want to come back next year for sure. The bag they give of apples is pretty big and they had many apples. They also had private bathrooms here in 2 spots and a few outdoor bathrooms as well. Def loved this experience and can't wait to return

I went to Pennings on a Sunday afternoon around Christmas time. It was a relaxing vibe and there was live music. I got the black currant cider which is on the sweeter side. My boyfriend got the bone dry cider. He still can't stop talking about it. I loved the keg tree they had outside. Definitely will come back again - preferably when it's warmer outside.

This is such a cool place! I drove nearly 2 hours to spend the day at Pennings Farm Cidery and what a lovely day it was! The only thing that was a bummer about the experience was how crowded it was. But I get it, everyone wants to spend a beautiful fall day enjoying some cider and good food. I was super hungry upon arriving so we quickly ordered a sweet cider flight, some pizza and some garlic knots. Unfortunately, due to the sheer size of the crowd, it took nearly 40 minutes to get the food. It was delicious though! The Apple Gouda pizza is a must try. Bring a picnic blanket or chairs because the seating is limited. But there is plenty to do and eat here!

Finally was able to make it to the cidery at the top of Pennings! We always just usually go to pennings and stay by the bar and farm at the bottom of the hill. The cidery has tight parking but plenty of room at the top of the hill. There is indoor seating that is fairly limited and outdoor seating as well. I noticed most of the outdoor seating it appears people had brought their own chairs. We opted to sit outside on the covered porch which was perfect because it did start to pour. There is an extensive amount of ciders and different flavors to try. I opted for the season flight list because it covered just about everything I wanted to try from range of bitter to sweetness! The ginger beet cider was exactly was I expect that nice earthy beet taste mixed with a sharpness from the ginger. This is definitely a new favorite of mine. The black current cider was pretty tame and nothing stood out about its more of a watery sweetness. I enjoyed trying it but definitely not something I'd return to order. The cyser cider was a strong honey taste and definitely a good refresher for in between flavors. The cherry cider was way too cherry flavor to me and I ended up giving that to my boyfriend to drink as I'm not a big cherry person but I'm sure it's good to those who enjoy the flavor. The peach fuzz was a second favorite as it tasted like a refreshing peace juice that would be fantastic in the warming months sipping it by the pool. Lastly is the classic maple vanilla which you can never go wrong it's simply perfect from the maple syrup and vanilla combination. Both sweet and refreshing. I recommend getting the flights to really try what you like in a cider and get a good range of their flavor profiles! We ordered their buffalo chicken brick oven pizza which on busier days the kitchen gets backed up but is definitely worth the wait. The ranch drizzle and celery microgreens paired great with the pizza. There definitely could have been more chicken on the pizza for the price of $18 but it was good overall. The only complaint I had which is of no fault of the cidery was a family that had multiple small children was allowing them to run through the seated area and cidery screaming which was extremely unpleasant and an accident waiting to happen.

Food: Came here as part of a trip for dinner and I found this place so cute! The food they served was warm and delicious, nothing fancy but a solid standard meal after playing out on the mountains. They served us pasta, meatballs, roasted veggies along with salad. Afterwards, they also provided us with an apple crumble that, out of the oven, was delicious! Bonus points for the whip cream as well! Cost: Not too sure how much the actual meal itself would've cost but the prices in the market was typical of a Farm Market- slightly pricey but you're paying for fresh products! Environment: This place is huge - lots of things to purchase and they have a cute area to drink beer/cider (in the winter time they have heating in this area as well) Service: Service was quick - meals were ready for us when we arrived and dessert was brought out shorty after. Uniqueness: Farm market + cidery is such a unique market!

If you are a lover of a nice cold cider and comfortable atmosphere. This Is Your Joint ! Loved the inside, a lot of room to socialize no matter how big or small your party is. The have a nice little store full of local goodies , even frozen items. The Speculaas was the cider I indulged in - it was sweet and refreshing!

We always enjoy coming to Pennings and spending a leisurely weekend afternoon here quaffing hard ciders, listening to live music, and relaxing on the sweeping lawn. There is good food to be had too. It's a great hang with friends and family - we love the openness of the space. Bring your own picnic blankets and chairs. The upper area in the back is the cidery and orchard. The market and beer garden are downhill near the entrance. The orchard offers apple, peach, and pumpkin picking, depending on the season.

Comfortable outdoor space with plenty of room to spread out... and for kids to run around! Loved the Cyser cider and the sangria, although the sangria was pretty watered down when I got it. I would suggest they keep the container in ice rather than ice in the container with the sangria. The buffalo chicken pizza was slamming! After enjoying the quiet space up at the cidery we took a stroll down to the original pennings market where there was an acoustic band playing outside. Such a great family friendly environment with staff who are a pleasure to talk to.

Pennings Farm Cidery was a fun experience for a great weekend date day. My husband and I decided to take the trip after hearing about the pizza. Myself being gluten free, and hearing they had gluten free pizza, it was a go. Upon arrival, we were unsure where to park as there are many building. We first arrived to the outdoor beer garden with live music. It was a fun time and we luckily got seats at the bar. Although there for the pizza, we ordered some fries at the bar and they were delicious! After a few drinks at the beer garden, we headed up to the cidery where the pizza was being served. The wait was short and the staff was efficient. Pizza was good, and people watching was fantastic. Staff provided a to-go box for leftover and were personable, making notes that they remembered us. I would definitely go back again, it was a great time.

Dropped in for Thursday night trivia and had the best time!! Open air seating with outdoor tables and a bar, Pennings in Warwick, NY is a must visit. The staff here were so friendly and looked like they genuinely enjoyed their jobs. There is something here for everyone- from the extensive cider/beer/wine and food menus, to the local farmer's market next door, you'll definitely be going home with something. I participated in the trivia night, which was organized but quite hard lol, and had such a great time. I also ordered a few orders of wings (habanero mango and garlic Parmesan), they weren't bad to nibble on as you enjoyed a drink. Definitely a must visit if you're looking for a fun place to hangout!

My friends and I visited Pennings Farm Cidery on a Sunday afternoon at the peak of apple picking season. As one can imagine, it was quite crowded, but not overwhelmingly so. Luckily, the cidery opens up to a very large outdoor seating area so it was pretty easy to find a spot to sit. We had no idea what to expect, so we would have brought our own chairs, since all the chairs that the cidery provides were taken... next time! Luckily, one of my friends had a picnic blanket in her car and we were able to set that out and have a nice little picnic. When we arrived the lines were pretty long for food and cider. My friends were going to order a pizza, but the line just wasn't moving so they changed to the burger food truck. They were happy with what they ate (a cheeseburger and rice balls). I picked up some donuts and kettle corn from the farm shop for snacks. The kettle corn and donuts were delicious. I definitely indulged more than I expected to. The line for cider was about a ten minute wait. I ordered the twelve flight option for us all to try. The bartender was very nice and gave us extra cups so we could share the flight between the three of us. It was so much fun trying all the different cider options! They have dry and semi-sweet ciders and so many of them were delicious! My favorites were the Maple Vanilla, Pumpkin, Cold Crash, and Gold Rush. It was so nice to be able to enjoy a lovely, fall Sunday afternoon with good eats and good drinks! The line for the bathroom was also a bit long, especially since one of the stalls was out of service, so if you have to go, make sure you give yourself plenty of time! Overall, my friends and I had a fun time at Pennings Farm Cidery and will definitely return again!

First time at this orchard in October 2023. Came with friends for apple picking! Small but plenty of apple varieties and easy to walk around unlike some hilly orchards. Not any rides/kids activities like other places so more adult friendly :) Food and drinks were delicious. Ordered a pizza, truffle burrata fries, cider flight ! Would def be back for next year apple picking.

Ask the Community - Pennings Farm Cidery

Are cider flights back? They were gone during the pandemic!

They are! They were available last year when I went. Now, they have sweet, dry, or all.

Require a reservation ? Can I go apple picking then come to the PF cidery?

Reservations are not required for the cidery but required for apple picking! You can definitely go apple picking and then come to the cidery!

    Do they allow dogs?

I'm afraid not, at least that's what the website says.

We went here on a random Wednesday afternoon so we basically had the orchard to ourselves. The first parking lot you see is for their store, you have to keep driving up for the u-pick orchard. There you check in to pay your admission fee, get your wristband, and get your apple picking bag(s). They give you a map where the ripe apples are highlighted for you. My favorite apples were the honeycrisp and snap dragons. They grow vegetables too but honestly we didn't explore the orchard that much (it was huge) so the only other thing I picked besides apples was a tomato, which I felt like was pretty difficult to find a good one. I handed out the apples to other friends and colleagues and they all liked them! There's something different about picking the apple straight off the tree than the apples you would normally just buy at a grocery store. It's a lot crispier when you pick them yourself! The store has apple cider doughnuts! Now being that I am a Californian where we don't have this apple picking culture, I was wondering what all the hype around apple cider doughnuts was about. NOW I GET IT they're so good! Unfortunately since we went on a weekday the doughnuts weren't fresh (they make them fresh on the weekends) so some of them were stale, but most were still good. It's honestly more of a cake than a doughnut, but so good! The doughnuts are self serve towards the back. The store also had a cat on the prowl haha We ended up not even having time to visit the petting zoo, but overall I think my colleagues had a good time here and I would recommend this orchard for anyone trying to have a no frills apple picking experience. I believe there was like a building restroom closer to the store and port o potties closer to the u-pick orchard.

Upon entering, it looked more like a wine store than a typical winery tasting bar area. Cramped with lots of liquor, oils, and wines-with loads of signs around displaying the 'rules of the winery' (not your typical intoxicated people won't get served, but literal how he does the tasting rules) Entering the winery, we overheard the owner speaking with another group. He sounded passionate; discussing 'old world wine' and had a lot of wines to run through ...we got our hopes up-but our excitement quickly went away. Our tasting experience was very disappointing. We checked in with our passport (the normal tasting would have been $7 for 7 wines), and we informed of the many rules posted around (like no sharing), and learned apparently another rule is no choosing which wines. The man just started pouring: "Wine 1-a white" "....when we asked what kind of white, what kind of wine, grapes, flavor, etc. we got a grumpy (unintelligible) response. He merely moved onto "wine 2-a sweet". We asked for a tasting sheet to understand what we had in front of us, and he became even grumpier. We noticed there were more dry whites and lots of dry reds, and meekly asked to only do the dry reds. Out of nowhere he brings out bottles of random balsamic vinegar and vanilla extract and suggested we try these instead of wine-but we declined. Maybe we should have because the dry red wines he poured tasted as if they were all skunked. They tasted like took pre-used barrels from making his liquor to make one same red table wine, and then bottled this same wine into a variety of different labels based on it being from a different barrel each. Worst wine we've even had. We weren't given the time to learn anything about the wine, heck he wouldn't even tell us what some blends were blended with. We'd ask and he'd merely repeat the name of the wine and move on to the next. We were pushed in and out in less than 10 minutes.
