Stopped in during B'Ville Dining Weeks to give this place a shot and unfortunately was disappointed with a majority of my meal. It started off strong by being greeted by a friendly waitress and delicious loaded fries, but what should've been the star of the show was lacking: gumbo. Not only was it a small serving for nearly $30, but it hardly had any chicken or meat and was lacking flavor. The food was amazing and the cocktails ROCKED. We started with the brisket tot poutine, which was very good. Chunks of brisket, cheese cubed and brown gravy over a bed of tater-tots. AMAZING! We also ordered a full rack of ribs with slaw and beans, and a "one and done" of pulled pork and mac & cheese. The smoked meats were nicely prepared and well seasoned and juicy. The mac and cheese had a little kick to it, but was very tasty. The beans had a great flavor and chunks of salt pork, absolutely fantastic. Restaurant is very clean and well decorated, the staff is friendly and welcoming. In the warmer months, Angry Smokehouse has outdoor seating on their deck, looking over the river. Met up with some co-workers, um friends?...hmm this is awkward...after work around 430pm on a Friday and the place although small, had no problem getting us a table for 6 at a high top table. The restaurant itself is very nice inside, fresh, fun and new, while providing easy going vibes. The staff was kind, service was prompt, accommodating and they even split our checks for us! I'll also note, even though I left shortly after the band started, they sounded great and in that small space the noise was very well balanced. No need to yell to the people sitting at your table. The food and drinks overall were great. Our table shared a variety of appetizers and I myself also got an entree, The Coma, and to keep this short, most everything was great to fantastic to the lowest score being this is enjoyable. So no complaints, my table favorites were the mac and cheese, fried pickles, egg rolls and The Coma. To highlight the Coma in full, the fries that I ordered with it were awesome and the meats in The Coma were juicy and tender, that's including the next day with half the sandwich brought home! This was my first time visiting Angry Smokehouse. After hearing great reviews about their smoked meats, entertainment, and outdoor dining area, I was eager to visit on a warm day where the music would fill the air. I did manage to make it on a weekend, but unfortunately, I missed the band. No worries, the wonderful service from our waiter made up for anything I may have missed out on. I ordered the brisket sandwich with tots and a side of smoked mac & cheese. My dinner dates ordered smoked sausage and brisket platters. We were all pleased with our entrees. Surprisingly, the small details are what excited us. Their pickled onions and jalapeños were delicious! This is coming from someone who has a strong dislike for anything spicy, I loved the pickled jalapeños and adding them to the brisket sandwich, along with their house sauce, literally took it over the top! Nice to say that Baldwinsville has a decent barbecue joint. Finally had the opportunity to try this place that I've heard so much about. It was a Friday evening but the wait wasn't long, about 30 minutes. We checked in at 5 PM. Lots of places to sit outdoors and wait for your name to be called. We chose to eat outside because it was a nice night and that's our preference anyway. Ordered a couple of drinks at the bar from a decent sized specialty cocktail list. Went with the.Cherry bourbon cheerwine. The base bourbon is Jim Beam and overall it was a nice "old fashion" type cocktail with muddled fruit. For an appetizer we went with the fried okra. What showed up was hush puppies instead. Our waitress, who was terrific, apologize for the error then rush back to get us the okra. The hush puppies were on the house. They were pretty good. You get 7 on the app. If you like all cornmeal hush puppies, then you will like these. We got the sauce on the side, which was a pleasant tangy addition. The fried okra was good. They were slightly crunchy and you get a good amount in a bowl. They too come with a side dip that added a nice flavor. For the entrée we went with the "two for one". There's a variety of protein to chose from. We went with our servers recommendation, which was chicken and brisket. The chicken was moist and the brisket was cooked spot on. Both were absolutely terrific. This comes with four small cups of various dipping sauce.sauces. From a mustard base to a apple vinegar based to a spicy barbecue and finally a maple, flavored barbecue. Having tried them all my personal favorite was the maple barbecue. You get a choice of two sides. We chose the coleslaw and brussels sprouts. The coleslaw lacked flavor. It was on the dry side too. The brussels sprouts were good. First off, the 3 is not because of the taste of the food. The taste of the food was delicious. The 3 is becuae my partner and I went on a Saturday night around 7pm and we had to wait about 50 minutes to be seated, no big deal I guess since it's popular, but while we were waiting, I got a text that they were out of ribs, at 7pm on a Saturday, to me that seems so early, it also was upsetting to me because that's what I was going there for. When it was our turn to be seated, they sat us right next to the live music, now this is not a big restaurant, it's an open room, and the music was LOUD (not necessarily bad, but so loud no one could really have a conversation anywhere in the room). Thankfully the musician took a break in conveniently the same amount of time it took us to order, get our food, and leave, but I feel bad for whoever else had to sit there after us, would not be a great time for a first date. read more

My group had an event at Angry Smokehouse tonight. We had about 20 people! They had a room off to the side set aside for us, with the tables already set for us. The waitress was prompt, knowledgeable, and engaged-- it was great. She did great and handled all of us with ease. They served us a delightful family-style meal to try several of their star dishes. The waitress got us drinks and their delicious cocktails quickly and kept everyone's order straight. We first tried the Texas Twinkies as an appetizer (bacon wrapped jalapenos stuffed with brisket and cream cheese..... amazing!). Then moved onto trying their delicious baked beans. These were thicker than I am used to, but they were tasty and full of brisket. Next, we tried their smoked ribs which were a hit. The sauce they are served with is delicious, but if you would like them saucier, they have a selection of sauces to choose from! We then moved on to brisket Mac and cheese which was made with smoked Gouda cheese and everyone loved it. Then, the brisket! The smoked bark was just covered in black pepper which I adored. Our last side to try was the creamy bacon and parmesan cheese brussel sprouts that were a surprise. We were curious how the combination would taste and I enjoyed it! The last meat to try was the smoked chicken thighs. This was a favorite especially with the crispy skin and the meat dipped into the Alabama white sauce. Yum! Some said the chicken was dry but dip it!! We ended with the peach cobbler made this morning which is served with an individual ice cream cup... instant nostalgia. It never ceases to amaze me that this restaurant, on one of the busiest nights in the summer, has live music on the patio which pretty much guarantees people sitting there will not be leaving soon so the tables will not turn around in the usual hour or so and other guests will eat inside or wait extensively. There seemed to be two wait staff for the tables inside with all tables full. Food was delivered within a half hour of ordering impressive kitchen turnaround considering the number of dining customers inside and out. Food came out hot and delicious. I shared a rib with one of the others at our table in exchange for a thick slice of turkey and that was tender juicy and flavorful. The ribs had a delicious tender bark with tender juicy meat that easily came off the bone. Brisket was fork tender so very good and one of the reasons we hadn't been in some time since they quite often run out of it. We asked before we ordered to be sure. The sweet potato fries were enhanced by the barbecue sauces and the Brussel sprouts were saucy and delicious. All 3 of us enjoyed our meals. I hosted a group of 20 here with a family style menu. They have great packages for family style and a private "Pit" room. The food was great! Their staff is some of the best in CNY. I host at a lottttt of local restaurants and the Angry Garlic staff and now the Angry SH staff are some of the best. Loved: Texas Twinkies (a must try), Ribs, Brisket, Brisket Mac n Cheese, Chicken, Brussel sprouts, and baked beans in that order I had visited ASH closer to when they first opened and enjoyed it but acknowledged they would need some weeks/months to iron out any kinks. Would this restaurant live up to all the hype It has garnered since it's opening just a short a few weeks ago? Yes, it did! I decided after reading many reviews to arrive at a very off time. I arrived at 2 PM on a Friday and the restaurant was packed. I was quickly offered a seat at the community table, which would open in about five minutes, or invited to see if there was a seat at the bar. As I approached the bar two women were leaving, so I decided to grab one of the seats. Meghan, the bartender approached me fairly quickly and greeted me warmly. I was impressed with the beer selection on tap and ordered a juice bomb. After studying the menu, I decided on a catfish sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries. My food was delivered by a very friendly gentleman who insured I had everything I needed. The catfish was perfectly fried and not a bit greasy. It was served on a fresh long roll with tomatoes, lettuce and tartar sauce. Everything was perfect, even the tomatoes looked like they were harvested in summer. The sandwich was served with pickled red onions and a bit of coleslaw. The sweet potato fries were perfect and not salty at all. I sat at the bar and made new friends; two other women who were doing the same thing as me. Jeff, one of the owners came over and asked us how we liked the food and service. For appetizers, we got smoked bologna and loaded sweet potato fries! The fries were addicting and gave me a chance to try their delicious pulled pork! The smoked bologna was thick cut and had good flavor. For entrees, we got the brisket quesadilla and smoked pork loin. The pork loin had such good flavor and the side of gravy was a nice touch on top. The quesadilla was huge and packed a little heat with the jalapeños. The sides of Mac and cheese and corn bread were also great additions. Overall, we were very impressed with the food, especially since we got takeout! Tried the angry smokehouse for my birthday this year. We were told it would be about 45min-1hr wait so we went over to Sammy Malone's for a drink while we waited. I love that they have the live waitlist tracker so you can see how many people are ahead of you. It only ended up being about 25 minutes before we were sat. Service was quick and the food was delicious. I like that the bbq style and sides are a bit different than some of our other area bbq joints.
