New to Wilmington this establishment specializes in a substantial list of creative burgers. They also serve wraps, cheese steaks and chicken tenders. I went in on a Monday and the word is out as the restaurant was filled with customers. Staff was limited and they were hustling to and from tables to keep up with the orders. It was a bit of a wait but not to a lack of effort on their part. I ordered the triple Hawaiian burger. Pineapple, bacon, cheddar cheese and chipotle mayo. It came stacked high with juicy beef and sweet pineapple rings. I chose the tots for my side and they were hot and crispy. The burger was really good and I'm very excited to try their other creations. This is located in the Brooklyn Arts district and right next door to a terrific ice cream shop. read more

It was National Cheeseburger Day (Sept 18th) so some friends and I wanted to celebrate the obviously American made holiday with a thick juicy burger. We knew the usual suspects in town, but wanted to try somewhere new that we had never been before. After a quick YELP search, we came across Angus Grill. The reviews were by and large positive so we journeyed over. We were greeted by an unassuming little storefront in the Brooklyn Arts District, snuggled up to a Boombalatti's Ice Cream shop. The interior is simple and spacious with a bar area and TVs mounted throughout, but not loud like a sports bar. We were quickly seated and our drink orders were taken. Since it was a first time visit, we decided to try a couple of apps to get a feel for the fare. I knew I wanted to try the chips and queso, but we were torn between the fried pickles and the mozzarella sticks. We asked the waitress and she advised to go with the fried pickles because it came with more, and so it was decided. The apps came out moderately quickly. The fried pickles were good, although there were only 7 "medallions" in the basket. They were thick cut pickles with a thick cornmeal breading with a ranch dipping sauce. While they were good, they were not $7 good. (The full basket you get at Walk-Ons is well worth their $8.49 price) The queso and chips were really great! I would describe them as a deconstructed quesadilla. The chips are large cut triangles, almost like pita wedges. They have that buttery crispness you recognize from a grilled quesadilla with a sprinkling of seasoning salt. The queso is your standard white queso, but it pairs well with the chips. All of our burgers were pretty good. We ordered the Steak Burger, The Loaded Tot Burger, The Jalapeño Popper Burger, and a Chicken Caesar Wrap. I got the Steak Burger, which I was expected shaved strips of steak on the burger, but they ended up being cube cut pieces of steak. This would have been fine if the steak had been more tender. It made it a little difficult to eat with the burger. The Jalapeño Popper Burger was also more deconstructed. It didn't actually have fried jalapeño poppers on the burger. They took the contents and idea of a popper (cheddar cheese, cream cheese, diced jalapeños) and melted those over the burger. My friend said it was fine, just not what they were expecting. Everyone else enjoyed their food. Overall, a nice spot for a burger in a quieter corner of Brooklyn Arts. I would definitely go again for the queso & chips and to try a different burger, of which there is a wide selection. read more

In an unassuming area of Wilmington, if not looking for it might drive right by. Walked in only a couple of people in the restaurant, we are off normal meal times. Sat where we pleased, multiple college football games playing throughout the place. Two different servers were soon at our side for our beverage and or food order. Menu has extensive listings of burger options. Honestly I know there was a back to it but we never turned it over. Today is national cheeseburger day!! I ordered the single jalapeño popper burger with sweet potato fries (2$ up charge) Side note if you like Sweet Potato fries get the maple Mayo, it is sweet and only use a little, but very good compliment to the fries. As was the Bubba sauce!! I like sweet and savory. I had a local brewed peach wheat beer (Edward Teach Brewery). The beer cool and refreshing for a warm summer afternoon. My best man had a single Hawaiian Burger with tots and a brown ale. Review of the burgers were they were tasty and plentiful, we are not big eaters, but we LIKE to eat! My only criticism of the Jalapeño popper burger was a tad too much cream cheese, otherwise very good. Hubs had only one slight comment and it was that the chipotle Mayo left his mouth tingling just a bit, not a spicy eater. Over all service, cleanliness and food and beverage wonderful and we will be back to try new creations! read more

Was hoping to really love this place after reading the reviews but I found it to be just average, or maybe even somewhat below. I ordered online which was very easy. I decided on the sweet onion burger. No bacon. Add mustard. Adding mustard was a mistake. They really loaded it on so most of my bites tasted only of mustard. Next time I'll just add it myself. Or skip it all together. The burger itself was overcooked so had a very dry and grainy texture. Some people like to claim the burger cooks more in the to go box, drying it out. My reply to that is. 1. If you know that then under cook it a bit and let it finish in the box. 2. I was there to pick it up before it was even finished and ate it in my car so the time it was in the box was very minimal. Maybe 2 minutes max. Anyway I can't comment on the hot honey mayo or flavor of the burger because as I said earlier everything mostly lasted of mustard. For my side I chose onion rings. Idk if they put a seasoning on them or just salt but they were very salty to the point where after eating 2 I stopped and ended up throwing the rest out. Onion rings don't really need salt. My total was almost $20 with the burger, extra charge for salty onion rings that got tossed, tax and tip. I'd say it wasn't worth it and I could have gotten something better somewhere else for the same price or less. I'm glad I tried this place but don't think I'd go back any time soon. read more

Jalepeno popper's outrageously flavorful!! Loaded with creamcheese and served with ranch dipping sauce. I got the pimento cheese bacon double burger. Finally served with something other than a brioche bun. The waitress was great. She brought out our drinks and even brought over an extra cup filled with our drink of choice, I supposed just in case she didnt make it back before we ran out, not that it mattered as she checked back often enough to get the job done, but not so often that she was a pest. The burgers themselves were a little dry, the buns were good, it just wasn't $24 worth of good for 2 burgers. The tots were a little bland. might be good for maybe half the price. There are many better burgers out there for the price without a doubt. If you are looking for a hole in the wall experience, and in the mood to waste money, go for it. I hate leaving bad reviews but the two waitresses working today are the worst. I understand being short staffed. I'm not a monster. But they are more concerned about their Uber eats order of tacos than they are paying customers. I booked a take out order - they said 10 minutes. I showed up in 15. They clearly didn't put it in because they asked me for it again. 20 minutes later I ask where it is. They say it's coming. 10 minutes after that, they say they gave it to someone else. 10 minutes later I get it. I get home and it's simply not what I ordered. I ordered a double - got a single. Called back. Offered "credit" but not refund... just charge me for what I received?! I tipped too. I'm not some lunatic. But if you have people working for you that care more about patroning another business while working, and they don't even care about the paying people in front of them, you got issues. The fries were just the way I like them, and then our wonderful server brought out the house sauce and the maple mayo to dip them in. Game changer. So unbelievably delicious. The burgers were great! I went there with my wife and son and everyone liked the burgers. While waiting for my wife my son and I decided to have the jalapeño poppers. They were completely underwhelming. One was still cold in the center which suggested to us they were frozen and did not thaw out in the center. My wife got the fried green tomatoes, they weren't cold in the center, but again they were not great. With so many great places to eat in Wilmington, there are other places I would go to first. read more

We ordered a BBQ burger and we're never asked about cooking temperature. After 23 minutes we were served two cremated, tasteless beef paddies and my wife's side order was wrong. The decor is typical pub style with a medium to high noise level all due to poor acoustics. The server was courteous albeit tardy and didn't offer to make the burger right. I suggested that she begin asking patrons how they want their burgers cooked and not assume the default is WELL DONE. I also mentioned some seasoning, like salt, would certainly help. Good burger but not 18.00 good. I've eaten here 4 times now. 3 eat in and one carry out. One eat in the experience was not good at all, burger in pieces and not medium rare as requested and served with the wrong fries. Waitress only charged 1/2 which was fair. 1 more dine in and yesterdays carry out was tasty but both times the burger was in pieces and fit back under the bun. I was craving a Philly Cheesesteak so we gave this place a shot. The waitress recommended the rib eye cheesesteak as the traditional sandwich. We started off with the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. The breading was thick and hard and the cheese very soft and soupy. The main courses arrived and the breading on my son's chicken tenders was very thick and hard as on the his Tatar tots and my onion rings. All these items tasted similar. My Philly Cheesesteak did not resemble the classic sandwich at all. Chunks of steak seasoned with a lot of salt with the same soupy cheese that was used in the mozzarella sticks. The deep fried breading on most items and soupy cheese were the 2 dominant flavors of our meal. My wife, however, said her burger was good! read more

I went on a Sunday evening, it wasn't busy. My bartender was friendly and helpful. I got the fried green tomato burger and fries. She confirmed that's one of the best burgers on the menu, and insisted that she wasn't "just saying that". The burger indeed smacked, and the fries had that "double-fried" kind of crunchiness like you might see at Checkers/Rally's, and came with some really good dipping sauce. I wanted to eat outside but they said they were still working on opening up the patio area so I took it to go. Food is way over priced for what you get. The service is terrible. Made an order online and they told me it would be ready in 15 minutes. I showed up for them to tell me they didn't have my order. I showed them my order and they still insisted they didn't have it even with me showing a receipt for it already paid online.
