Angus Grill's offerings are much improved over it's forerunner Big Bubba's Burgers. A lot of the offerings are similar, but done with better execution. It's hard to go wrong with their burger selection, but their sandwiches are a little more hit and miss. The side salads are much improved as well. read more

Anyone can get a cheeseburger from practically anywhere, but at Angus grill their menu is full of creative burger combos. I loved their fried egg and maple burger along with the Tex mex burger I got today. I haven't been disappointed yet as far as their burgers go. Their fries are also cut and cooked fresh which is also a plus. The prices are more than reasonable and no matter what the burger is they are all $8.99 for a double . I can't eat that much meat so I just get the single which is $1 less. The only lack of 5 stars is their service. I sat for nearly 10 minutes before I finally got up and got someone's attention. The scheduled waitress was just hiding in the corner and on her phone. She didn't see me and I didn't see her until I said something to one of her coworkers. I have been here several times and the service is slow. They usually have only one waitress for the whole floor and I'm assuming one cook too because the food takes a long time to come out. If y'all are reading this, you're too wonderful to be so understaffed! Hire some dependable servers (like the lady who took over the lazy waitress she was great!) and preferably more than one working at a time. read more

The food is hands down awesome! We're big foodies so this place is a must try. The first time we went we ordered takeout and the lady that took our order was nice. The second time we went and got takeout, both of the ladies were different from the first and rude as hell. They must of been having a bad day or something but we almost didn't even want to get our food from there. Really sucks since this place is just down the street from home and has great food. I was so looking forward to going to Angus Grill (the one near Pitt Community College). All I can say is that was very disappointing. Don't know how it has gotten such good reviews. Ordered the simple Angus Burger and only wanted pickles on it along with mustard and mayo. Mayo never came out, mustard was in annoying squeeze packs. The worst part was the minuscule piece of hamburger amidst top and bottom of a large bun. I would say that what I could taste of the burger was good even w/o pickles (they said the pickles were "tasting funny" so they didn't want to serve them. ) OK, but there are literally 2 grocery stores within a half mile that sale pickles in a jar. I know that sounds trivial, but when you are a restaurant specializing in burgers, have pickles!! I will go elsewhere next time I want a good burger that I can find within a bun. Certainly no worth $10. On a positive note, fries were tasty and hot. read more

My wife and I ate here last night for the first time. Great little place with a simple menu. We each got a burger and they were delicious! The beef was cooked perfectly, the bacon was amazing, and the bun was ideal. The fries/tater tots were also great. $2 for a beer is nice as well. All told we had a great dinner for 2 for under $25 before tip. My wife ended up taking 1/2 her burger home since it was so large. The place was clean, the staff friendly, ample parking. A hidden gem in Winterville. The location of Angus Grill is tucked away in the edge of a small shopping strip. Don't let the location fool you though. The outside looks plain, but when you walk inside there is a cozy, rustic feel. The restaurant is self seating, and they have table sizes to seat 2, 4, and 8. High chairs are available. We like to stop in for dinner on a week night, and they are never too busy. Service here has always been good for my family. Our food has always arrived in a timely manner, and drinks don't run dry. The food has always come out fresh and hot. Mostly everything on the menu is around $7-12. Portions are generous! I've never tried a burger here because my usual order is just too good! The Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwich with fries is my go to order. The chicken is always tender and juicy, and the ranch gives it a cool kick. My husband likes the Cheesesteaks as well as their fries. The only thing I've noticed the past two times we have visited is the fries aren't as seasoned as they used to be. Sorry to say but not worth the stop any more. The last time I was in there to eat it was still Bubba's Burgers but heard they still had a pretty good burger. Went there with some friends and I ordered a bacon cheeseburger w/a egg. I asked for the egg to be cooked over easy to medium because I wanted to have the yolk a little runny. When I received my burger the bacon was way over cooked, shriveled to the width of a little pencil and crumbly, it looked like it was left over from lunch. My egg was fried well done that you couldn't even see that there was a yolk. I'm glad I ordered a side salad, I didn't even want to bother them to cook me another. A fairly easy burger to make but I didn't want to risk them making me another. The salad was good, so was my tea and the waitress was nice. Not sure that I'll go into there again but if I do it want be any time soon. read more
