Was walking in the area. Decided to come in for happy hour. We were told they no longer had happy hour. We could go across the way to Laura's fine dining they had happy hour there. We decided to stay and had a few cocktails and imperial rolls. The old fashioned and mule were good as was the imperial rolls. The customer service was good

    Green beans and bibimbap

I had been to Lara's Fine Dining next door for brunch a couple of years ago and was curious to check out Anh's, not realizing that they are both owned by Lara Choe until reading the restaurant's history on their Yelp page. I love that Lara Choe bought Anh's from Anh's daughter Candice, but kept her on board to continue her mother's vision of authentic Vietnamese food. Anh, Candice, and Lara's perspectives are definitely reflected in the flavorful Vietnamese and Korean dishes we had for dinner tonight. The green beans and tofu were perfectly cooked with the inviting flavor of lemongrass that kept us going back for more. I can't eat a lot of beef so I appreciated that I could order the bibimbap with chicken, and really enjoyed the spice level and balance of flavors in the dish. Service was great, and we did not feel rushed when the restaurant was closing up.

    Garlic noodles with shrimp

Great food but really loud. Came to celebrate my uncle's birthday and there was plenty on the menu for the group. Started with the fried calamari, spring rolls and fried shrimp. The calamari was the hit, light but crispy. There was a assortment of mains but the highlight were the garlic noodles with protein-chicken and shrimp. So garlicky and flavorful! Also had their pork belly, lemongrass chicken, and beef bun. Good but on the saltier side. Service was quick and friendly.

Bibimbap with grilled chicken, Pho, Garlic Noodles, Thai iced tea

Anh Restaurant & Bar is tucked away in Richmond on Esplanade Dr. Since traveling there recently, we also came upon another restaurant that's right next door ~ Lara's Fine Dining. Both restaurants share a parking lot, right on the water. A lookout of the Richmond Marina, perfect for a sunny day. We were hoping to sit outside at Anh and soak up the sun, but the weather had a bit of a dip in temperature ~ I would love to come back and sit outside on the patio. The staff was so kind to set us up with a table that accommodated our kiddo. We ordered garlic noodles and a Thai iced tea to start, and noticed their menu seems to have expanded (in a great way) over time. The Thai iced tea was super refreshing and came out quickly, the garlic noodles super flavorful, warm, and comforting. I went with the Bi-Bim-Bap, grilled chicken as my protein. My husband went with the classic Pho. Everything was solid, fresh, and had good flavoring. I think overall I was left wanting a bit more from my dish ~ I've had other versions of this dish throughout the East Bay, and while I appreciate the culinary design of this specific bowl, it fell a bit short for me. Felt a bit deconstructed with interesting portions of each component. Pricing is fair, they had an ample indoor lunch crowd. Maybe next time I'll try a drink, split a few starters, and split an entree. Regardless, happy to visit Anh Restaurant & Bar in a part of Richmond that seems to be growing with time. Looking forward to giving it a go again!

Such a sweet little spot to enjoy a Vietnamese meal with a beautiful view. We stopped at this spot in the middle of a weekend stroll and I must say, the service was sweet and food was tasty and fresh. I would most def return for a nice lunch here anytime.

    Panko Crusted Shrimp

The food is very tasty! My favorite appetizer there is the panko crusted shrimp. I get it every time. The drinks are always really tasty and well mixed. I really like their Pho. It's a nice serving size! The views are amazing if you go on a sunny day, you get a clear view of the bay and all of the nice sailboats around. It's definitely a my go to when I don't feel like cooking for myself.

The setting is stunning, with a fantastic view of the water from the outdoor seating area. I tried the vegan tofu bun bowl, which was tasty, though I wasn't a fan of the egg roll and wished the tofu pieces were larger. The jasmine iced tea was delicious; the jasmine flavor was prominent and I appreciated that it was unsweetened. My friend ordered the mango shrimp papaya salad and enjoyed it. The servers were attentive and kind. I would definitely come back to try more of their vegan options.

    Chicken Cabbage Salad

Came here on a Monday afternoon and was seated right away. It was a beautiful day in the bay so we opted to be seated outdoors and what a view and secluded neighborhood. The space was spacious indoors and outdoors probably can seat maybe 18 people between all the tables. We ordered Thai tea and coconut water for drinks and both were delicious and refreshing. For appetizers we did calamari and Korean spicy/sweet wings. Calamari was okay nothing super special but wasn't bad! The wings were good in flavor. For entrees we got the chicken salad and I thought this was really good in flavor. Really brought me back to my childhood . Although they serve you heavy on the chicken but not so much cabbage. I'd love for there to be a bit more cabbage but that's just me :) we also ordered the lobster garlic noodles of course! And they give you 1 lobster tail with additional lobster in the dish which is a good amount and also the garlic noodles! It was drenched in sauce. Overall 8/10! Service was great as well. Would come back if I was in the area!

    Garlic noodles with rib-eye.
    Robert C.

I had a chilled glass of beer on tap that was refreshing. I ordered the garlic noodles and opted for the rib eye slices that accompanied it. The noodles were garlicky which was great. The rib eye was a relatively small portion but what do you expect for just a small surcharge. That price for chicken is the same. Go figure. I had the banana samosas with ice cream. Not only were they delightful but it only cost $8. It was also artistic in presentation. The service was good as I ate indoors. You can opt to eat outside too.

Are they open for patio dining currently?

Hi Antoinette! Come on in we’re open for patio dining as well as having extra seatings outside and along the trail as well. We’re open Wed-Sun 12-8pm.

Has anyone else dropped by just to find out they closed early?

I've never found that to be true, but it wouldn't surprise me. This is a really good restaurant, good food, very low prices, but not enough customers. I was there Friday for lunch, at 12:30, and there were only six people there. If business…

Each taco comes with a double layer of corn tortillas with grilled shrimp, or fish topped by shredded cabbage drizzled with a lime aioli. Instead of deep fried, the shrimp and fish on each taco were grilled to perfection, instead of deep fried. The fish filet was diced and stir-fried with a wonderful aroma. Instead of making a mess, I decided just to eat my taco by slicing and dicing it from the plate. Super good!
