Beef Kabob Dinner Falafel Rice Pilaf Pita Bread Garlic Spread
    Steven S.

Ordered their beef dinner for take out. Got it with middle eastern rice, garlic sauce (in tub), comes with mixed grilled peppers/tomatoes and a mixed salad. I added (extra) 2 falafel balls (amazingly crispy, you can taste all the spices). Added some middle eastern pickles (in tub below). Comes with Syrian bread. Awesome and guaranteed to feel full!

Dining method: Take-out Item(s) ordered: Hummus, pickles and pickled turnips Speed: Took about 10 minutes for them to pack things up. Value: A little more expensive than other places in the area. Plus, I sensed that he was up-selling us for the catering-sized items, so I wouldn't shy away from this place, but just have a firm idea of what you would like. Vibes: Order up at the counter, bare bones spot. The man who took our order was quite serious. The place was less lively and more stark. The experience: When you walk into Ani's, a waft of delicious-smelling air hits your nose. After realizing we would have 15-20 guests, we panic-bought three pounds of hummus. Ani's was able to quickly accommodate our request for catering-sized hummus, which runs about $10/pound. The hummus was very popular among our guests! Their other food smells delicious, so I might be returning to try some falafel!

How can something so simple taste so good. I did my first review of ANI 10 years ago so I thought it was time for an update. I ordered the chicken shawarma wrap for lunch. Man is this thing packed with flavor. As you bite through the lightly toasted pita bread a wave of freshness and flavors hit you. The veggies are fresh the chicken is delicious and the sauce is amazing. Makes me wonder why I don't eat here more often. The service was friendly for the short amount of time I was there and there is ample on street parking. Place is clean and offers seating inside. I would say I want try more things on the menu, but it would be hard to not get this wrap again. They also offer some prepackaged prepared dips, hummus and other stuff.

Amazing service and quality food. I love the chicken shawarma and lamb kebab wrap with fries. The French fries are my go to favorite.

A location in an quiet residential part of Watertown? Now, it's really just a take-out/delivery spot. The restaurant is located in the back of the Armenian Cultural and Educational Center, where they have an industrial kitchen. There is limited signage. Basically, you go to the back of the building, where it is unfinished and basically a dirt plot. The backdoor is open where you can pick up your order if you elect to do takeout. I only saw one person working (a nice middle-aged lady). Unfortunately, some delivery person took my order so I had to wait around for the restaurant to fulfill the order. Otherwise, the food was terrific. The braised beef wrap was fresh and flavorful. The fattoush and Armenian salads were very fresh and were great accompaniments. In their hurry to fulfill the order, the restaurant missed one of the wraps. But they offered to refund us for the missing wrap, so it was fine. If you are hankering for some Anoush'ella, but are in the suburbs, you now don't have to go into Boston or Cambridge anymore. Just go to a non-descript back of a cultural center (or better, just get it delivered).

Atmosphere/ vibe - extremely unprepossessing. Sort of like your grandma's kitchen? But toasty warm, yes! Service - good, pretty prompt. It took a few minutes to bring the order to the table, which I took as a sign it was made to order, almost. Food - ok, but quite bland. The best thing in the stew was the preserved lemon or lime. Wow! Price/ value - disappointing. Paying 3USD for a hot tea, and then when offered more, it showed up on the bill as 6USD. Really? It comes out of the one tea pot/ diluted with hot water. The side of some pita w/butter was gratis. Would I come back? Not sure. On the check was the name Molana, which was the Persian place in Wtown Sq. The owner wanted to retire, but decided to take over the defunct Shiraz Persian Cuisine. Now it's just opened as Caspian Persian Cuisine. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems like Molana took over all Persian restaurants in Wtown. Perhaps my expectations were wrong - I had in mind a sort of kebob/shawarma/souvlaki/gyros menu at really good prices. Maybe with Trumpflation, those days are long since gone
