My 17 year old cat was in stage 4 kidney failure as well as dealing with a golf ball size tumor on his spine. He made it exactly 1 month and 4 days from his last exam. I had to call Animal Ambulance once I noticed Taz wasn't eating for a day and a half as well as struggling to walk normal, he'd fall over or wobble just when standing. I knew it was time. I called late Friday night and made the appt for 10am the next day. Dr Hernandez showed up w/ his asst who were the most kindest, sincere, and so patient. They explained everything that would happen along the way and I was able to hold my baby in his last moments. I am grateful for this type of service as Taz hated the car and trips to the vet. I feel like he knew it was coming. He is so shy and when they both showed up, he walked right up to him, allowed some pets and even leaned up against the medical bag with comfort. Dr Hernandez was the most compassionate and helpful vet to have help us as our dog was passing away. He was skillful as a veterinarian, compassionate as a person, and incredibly patient as he helped guide us through our pet's last moments. I will never forget him sharing how many animals he had rescued and cares for, even as he helped us say goodbye to our beloved dog. As a medical professional, I only wished I could find medical doctors as sensitive to the grief and loss process as he was with us. He coordinated with Precious Pet Cremations (Oliver) to complete everything that was needed and both people were amazing supports during a difficult time. When I called to ask, Animal Ambulance was very responsive and even checked up to make sure that Only Cremations for Pets contacted us back. They work with Only Cremations for Pets in Newport Beach, 4.5 star Yelp reviews. Our cremation (that was directly contracted with Animal Ambulance) included a eco-friendly box, wooden engraved heart with her name, Forget-Me-Not seeds, and a paw print for $300. We are so glad that this service was offered since my pet passed such last minute. It was a nice surprise to have my dog's paw print. read more

Andy and Silvia came out on a cold night this pass Saturday at 8pm to take our Delilah, a hospice foster rescue to her final home in heaven. They provide a euthanasia service with such compassion, understanding and professionalism. I was certainly apprehensive but they're expertise was definitely reassuring. Delilah passed here at home where she was the most comfortable around those who loved her and went home peacefully. After taking my call and explaining that it would be at least 1 hour and 45 minutes for an ambulance to help me with my 72 lb. dog who was experiencing seizures, the man who answered the phone said he would try to shuffle things around and see if they could get to me sooner and for me to wait for a return call to my hotel room. Well needless to say, no call ever came and he did not answer any of my follow up calls or voice message. At least be honest if you can't service an emergency call that way a stressed out owner is not waiting for your non existent follow up. read more

When our pot bellied pig fell ill we knew it was time to help her crossover the rainbow bridge. I called dozens of mobile vets in LA & OC, a few never responded, others didn't service our city (Whittier) but Animal Ambulance answered at 9pm on a Sunday night and were out the very next day. The male doctor was completely professional, answered all of our questions and treated Midge with the utmost care and respect. On Wednesday of last week, the unfortunate time came to put our beloved pup down, who couldn't overcome the odds stacked against him, and all he had endured over the previous 2+ months. Even though we ended up providing him with the best care possible, it came after the damage had been done - and we needed to make a decision that was difficult for us - but not for Cody... I had decided, long ago, that I would never put another dog down at a Vet's office - only because it's not where my dogs are most comfortable. Unfortunately, in Cody's case, his situation turned dire - really fast. I wasn't prepared to have to act to quickly. I called Animal Ambulance, left a message, and was called back within 5 minutes. I let Andy know the situation, and that we would need someone later that day - just as soon as 2 other family members were able to get to my home to say their goodbyes. Andy was able to find a Veterinarian who came to our home at 11:30 pm. He was perfectly fine and caring, and honestly, I may be a little harsh in my rating... I just thought he chatted a little bit too much, and about things not really relevant to the situation... Nonetheless, I would use them again. The price - compared to others who provide the same service was a little cheaper - but, in the end, it really ended up being about the availability - which was most important, as we didn't want Cody to suffer any more... I would definitely recommend both at home euthanasia - as well as Animal Ambulance to anyone and everyone looking to "peacefully" send their 4-legged love one over the Rainbow bridge - in the comfort of their own home, surrounded by those who they love the most. read more

When I called Animal Ambulance, it had me leave a message. That was 16 hours ago and still no call back. I thought they were a 24/7 service like the advertise? Terrible service!! read more

Very respectful and on-time. It was the hardest thing I've ever had to do and my poor baby had cancer and could go on another day. What a joke this place turned out to be!! At first they were helpful and nice but they didn't take a paw print of my 15yr old Pit even though I have a receipt and paid for it! I spent $800 for them to come to our home and have the body cremated and an additional $35 plus $5 since they didn't have change for the paw-print. Well about a week later when we picked up the ashes they said they didn't do the paw-print and instead they upgraded the urn from a regular box to a "cedar" box. So I called and spoke with Andy and he said that the tag on the body stated cedar box and no print but how does that make sense when they also told me they "upgraded" the urn after they found out they had missed the print ?? Not only did they lie but they also tried to cover it up. I had my pit since she was only 6 weeks old. She was my companion. More than just a dog and for them to forget to do the print is unacceptable!! I had plans to get her paw tattooed but now I can't do that anymore. I wouldn't use these liars in the future and I wouldn't recommend anyone else to as well. read more

Our sweet, chronically ill kitty took a turn for much worse last night. She HATED the vet's office and the thought of putting her down in a place that scared her so much was untenable, but we knew what was best for her, so we took her home and called every mobile euthanasia vet in the book. Animal Ambulance was the first to respond, even though we called before normal business hours on a Saturday. They provided us with a very prompt timeline and sent Dr. Hernandez, who is gentle, attentive and totally professional, exactly the right kind of person for this terribly sad job. Kitty passed peacefully, in her own house with her humans and a caring doctor right at hand. The price was steeper than a euth at an office, but also completely reasonable. The service provided by Dr. Hernandez and Animal Ambulance would have been a bargain at three times the cost. My husband and I were with our friend when she made the decision to help her Dino cross over. Dr. Hernandez was so kind. He first gave Dino a sedative to take away his pain and let him sleep. When he administered the second injection, Dino did not even flinch and gently went to sleep. I am writing on behalf of my Mom, who had to help her 12 year old Mastiff cross the rainbow bridge yesterday. She had seen the Animal Ambulance service truck around town, awhile ago, and she took down their info, as she knew the day would come and she would need assistance. Dr. Hernandez, arrived same day, and a bit earlier than originally quoted. Dr. Hernandez was professional, compassionate and spent over an hour with my Mom and her beloved Brutus. He explained a couple of concerns my Mom had as well as making sure my Mom's other dog, understood that her companion Brutus had passed and gave my Mom some helpful suggestions for the transition for her other dog. My Mom said she would highly, highly recommend their service to anyone! Many, many thanks for making a difficult decision a sad but good memory. P.S. This place was amazing when my mom needed to have her 12 year old shar pei put down and she couldn't be transported. My mom had been out of town for a week and a half when her dog's condition severely deteriorated. When she came home (on her birthday no less), her dog was suffering and it was well past time to relieve her of her pain. It is extremely difficult to find someone in OC who will come to you to do it, will take the body and who is reasonably priced. One lady in Anaheim Hills wanted $445 just to do the procedure. These guys do it all for $399. Still more expensive then taking ur dog to the vet's office, but way more reasonable than anyone else in the area who does it in home especially considering that it includes removal of the body afterwards. Also, just a side note, I called them at 6am. If I had known they were 24 hours, I would have called the night before. They said they would have someone there by 9 and I asked if they could come any sooner to please try. They went above and beyond with my request and someone was there at 7:30 am. Amazing. My mom said the vet who arrived was very caring and kind and that her dog went peacefully. I would not hesitate to use their services in the future with any of my other pets when and if it comes to that. Hopefully, this is a service you won't need to use often, but it's a blessing to know they're there when you need them. Our 12 year old 115 pound lab boy had been getting worse and couldn't get up anymore one night. He lost control of his back end and we knew it was time. On a good day, he was petrified of going to the vet, and the thought of trying to load him and take to the vet to have him put down when he was already afraid and in pain was unbearable for both of us. I called Animal Ambulance and they were kind and understanding on the phone. They sent an excellent, kind and caring vet to our home. He gave our boy anti-anxiety meds first to keep him calm, and made sure we were done with our good byes and ready before he euthanized him. Our boy went quietly and calmly in our home instead of frightened and stressed in the vet's office. When he was sure we were ready, he gently loaded our boy's remains onto a gurney and took him away in the ambulance. Not only was the service exceptional, but they were the best price I found. Larger dogs require more medication so the fee is adjusted with the size of your pet. They made the best of an awful situation and I would highly recommend them to anyone who has a pet who needs a little help getting to heaven. read more

What a devastating experience! Called them for help getting my disabled son's dog Smokey to the emergency clinic. Their website (mypet2vet.com), which had a speeding ambulance with flashing lights as its banner, said that ambulances were well equipped. Only one technician arrived, however, and after a brief assessment, he said that no medical services would be provided on board. My son was not allowed to ride along with Smokey, so we followed the ambulance, which used the slow lane of the freeway, to the clinic. When we arrived, Smokey had already passed away. We paid $400 for a 13.5 mile taxi service! I complained to the Better Business Bureau, but Animal Ambulance of Southern California ignored their communications. Several months later, my son is still trying to cope with the circumstances of Smokey's death--and what we thought might have been an opportunity to save his life. read more
