Dr. Brian Chen told us he heard a heart murmur and recommended X-rays to determine the cause, saying it could be a number of different things. The way it was presented didn't make it seem urgent, and the severity of the murmur was never mentioned. We had a vacation coming up and genuinely believed it was okay to schedule the X-rays when we got home. While we were thousands of miles away, my parents were watching her. On the morning of July 16, she suddenly began breathing rapidly and was rushed to an emergency hospital, where she passed away that afternoon. One of the hardest parts is knowing we couldn't be there with her in her final moments because we were so far away. Afterward, I found out that Dr. Chen had documented a grade 4 heart murmur in her chart during our June 23 visit but never told us the grade or explained what it meant. Looking back, it's devastating to learn that a grade 4 murmur along with a cough should have been treated right away. If we had understood how serious her condition was, we would have had the X-rays done immediately instead of waiting until after our trip. We are heartbroken and deeply disappointed that the seriousness of her condition was not communicated to us. We trusted a trained professional and were let down.

I wanted to try somewhere local for convenience, but unfortunately my experience was disappointing. The veterinarian told me my dog should weigh 30 pounds, even though she currently weighs 48 pounds. For an adult English Bulldog, 48 pounds is well within the normal range. The vet also said my dog's stomach looked like a balloon and that changing her diet would help it. However, the appearance she was referring to has been the same since she was a puppy. To top it off, they charged me $70 for a one month supply of flea medication, which seemed excessive. If you own a Bulldog, I would recommend finding a veterinarian with experience treating the breed rather than coming here.

When my poor dog came out, he looked like he had been run over by a lawn mower! And to make matters worse, I paid practically the same amount. Needless to say, we went right back to Soggy Paws Pet Grooming- and now I have an entirely new appreciation for the wonderful job they do. Lesson learned! I had this puppy for only several months old, and booked this place for grooming. The appointment was confirmed, and due to the staff /business owner who can do the work was on maternity leave, I had to waited for 2 months - which was ok, we could wait. But when the appointment was approaching, I was contacted for delaying the appointment for another month due to the staff needed more time for the leave. I was ok with that, and so another month to wait. One week before the appointment time, I was contacted again as the staff can't do the job on the agreed day, it had to be rescheduled again. I was patient enough for almost three month wait. But I felt not very respectful for the 3rd time change of my appointment time! I had to reschedule my time off to make it work. When I express my concerns of the time change, the message I got literally was " We don't need new customers honestly." Really?! I felt really bad but the short time change notice put me into a position that I didn't want to waste more time researching another place ( maybe I should). So I went and the hand stripping charges by hourly rate, usually takes 1-3 hours for the session. I had a small-medium size dog, it was our first time doing that, I had no expectations. But I didn't expect that they did took 3 full hours to do the job, so I was charged for 3 hours, plus the bath... I got a final bill of over $300!! And I felt the style was a bit off- I sent a photo to our breeder, she thought the same... So I tried a different place for my second time, just to compare with my 1st experience at Soggy Paws Pet Grooming. The final bill I got from a different place was only $165 - (and my dog is growing bigger, probably with much more hair to be stripped, and my dog looked great!!) So I think the business owner of Soggy is right: They don't need new customers! And I have found a better place to go after all. That is my experience with this place. Hope it is helpful.
