This is a wonderful vet. The entire staff is so caring and my baby loves all of them! I couldn't imagine bringing him anywhere else.

So the wife brought home 2 kittens one day. I brought them to a local vet close to the house for a check up and shots. That was my first mistake. Not to say that i had an issue with the quality of care, but each and every time i walked in there, I was hit with a sales pitch. I feel that they prescribed medicine that wasn't necessary, food that wasn't needed, or pressure to bring in the other animals. Once again, the quality of care isn't in question here, but I left there thinking in my head, that this vets number one goal was to make money, not to care for my pets. After all this, i brought my pets to another vet in the area and was surprised how much more they were concerned with the welfare of my pet, and the the welfare of my checkbook. This is the best vet yet. Ian Marks!!!!! My son has had several cats throughout his lifetime. This particular kitten as really won our hearts. She is a sweet heart and we want to give her the best. We have not had the best luck since the former vet retired. I called to make an appointment for her 2nd set of shots. They were so prompt, gave me an appt. that very afternoon, we did not wait long at all. From the front desk girls to the tech. Everyone was wonderful. Vet Tech -. Ashely was kind, considerate and made the statement, "let her enjoy herself". "If she wants to explore inside this room let her roam around" WOW. Most vets tell you to keep the animal in the cage. Ashley took her out of the crate herself, did not mind, just did it The Dr. comes in and he is a very good with her. Answered all my questions, took his time, he actually played with her a few minutes. They ask all the questions to make the perfect care plan for the kitten. Ashely noticed the kitten had really scratched me several times and asked if I wanted her nails clipped. YES please!!! Ashley was so quick as the vet held the kitten in his arms. I have never seen a vet cuddle a kitten. He gave her the shots, and then picked her up and cuddled her. She allows this so no shocking results. LOL. I am thrilled that we have found a vet for life. I hope this helps people if they are in need of a vet. Wonderful care and not far from my home. Great location, clean office. Masks are always wore, gloves on. Good people. read more

I had an extremely healthy 8 year old cat who got an B on her overall check up and weeks later she was murdered by these horrible people that work here. My cat was a house cat her whole life and when I took her in for a check up cause she had never gone to the vet before besides when we first got her for shots and spaying and everything and these people give her shot after shot after medication for nothing!! And she went into shock and when I called to ask why the hell my cat was so sick they said to me "do you really need to bring her in? Is she that bad?" UM YES IDOIT SHE IS?! So when I bring her in I'm bawling my eyes out holding my almost dead cat and they make me wait for 30 minutes and finally they get me in and try and sell me on all these tests that had no relation and to pay for 5 over nights! What the??? This vet KILLED my cat and I would not trust them with a fly. My new vet respects my wishes in not vaccinating my animals and doesn't push weird pointless expensive tests on me. This vet doesn't give a shit about your pets just your money! After the killer decided to comment on my first review I have to continue on saying it's funny how he remembers this incident and my cat when this happened 3 years ago. He calls me a bad pet owner, are you kidding me? Because I don't want to inject my house cat with poison I am a bad pet owner? Because there is absolutely no reason I need to spend $300+ a vet visit on a yearly check up on a HOUSE CAT I am a bad pet owner. Maybe YOU'RE just a terrible vet? I told my new vet about this incident and she was appalled and promised to uphold my wishes and never vaccinate my new cat whom is VERY healthy because I am a GREAT pet owner. read more

Money hungry and inept. Once you get past how nice everyone is (which they should be) and get down to the type of care provided you can really see the issues. I brought my cat in as he had gotten into a scrap with a neighbor cat and received a wound on his side which become infected. Upon having the exam, I was advised the only option to treat my pet was surgery. Very important, immediate, necessary and, you guessed it, expensive! Of course, I started to consider his recommendations as anyone would when consulting a professional. Then he said something which took me back. I asked if an antibiotic might have an impact. He said no, not an option as the wound doesn't have blood vessels in it and the medicine wouldn't reach the affected area. Now, I don't know much about medicine, but I do know white blood cells fight infections and to tell me that an infection inside the body cant be fought off because blood vessels don't reach it sounds like an attempt at misinformation to sway my decision. Either way, after quite a bit of reluctance the Dr. agreed to administer the medicine in lieu of surgery. ($550.00 less than surgery) Sure enough within 24hrs my cat was fully healed with no signs of infection and was back to running and terrorizing my other, older cat, as per usual. Granted, I understand pushing the $600.00 surgery option vs. the $50 antibiotic from a business perspective as you need to make money, but if its come to the point where you're making decisions based on business and not the care of your patients then you made some bad decisions along the way and need to close your doors. My diabetic dog became very ill while on vacation there in Florida. The clinic was able to see him within an hour and a half of my calling them. He was evaluated and treated. All testing and treatment was explained VERY well, because the staff wanted to endure that we understood the reason for everything that needed to be done to make him better. In addition, Dr. A was able to explain his diabetes to us in a very detailed way and we left understanding more about how it was affecting our dog than we had since his diagnosis 6 months prior. I never write reviews, but felt compelled to about this. I had never gone to Dr. A at AMC before, but he always has "Adorable kittens for adoption" and the like on his sign out front, and I was considering adopting a kitten. We already have two dogs and a cat, so we are not novice pet owners, and take excellent care of our furry family members. I thought adopting from a vet would be great, they must really check these animals out well, right? Long story short, I filled out the app, paid the $100 adoption fee (which is supposed to cover all initial medical care, check-up, vaccinations, and spay), and took a little kitty home. Right away we noticed she was panting and dripping from her nose. She had a couple of scabs on her neck. I took her in for her 2 week check up and Dr. A didn't think much of the panting/dripping and said to watch it and checked out the sores on her neck and said to watch them. She got a vaccination and we were sent on our way. A few weeks later she is very sleepy and panting at any significant activity. I literally see worms hanging from her butt and falling out and crawling around. At this point I don't care about the hundred bucks anymore because we really love this little kitty, and I want to take her to my awesome vet that I go to for my other pets, but he's closed on Thursday, and I don't feel worms coming out of her rectum is something that can wait an extra day, especially with other pets in the home. I take time off work and take her to AMC against my better judgment. They did get her in right away and I am thankful for that. Dr. A doesn't even bother looking at her and has the vet tech give her a Drontal. I have questions, I have other pets to worry about, I am irritated, there are no other clients in the office and he is too busy to see me?? Then the receptionist says I owe $10. Now mind you that's no big deal, but tape worms are caused by a flea infestation and take 6 to 8 weeks to incubate, which was confirmed by my vet. We've only had her a month. So I tell the receptionist she had these when we got her and I shouldn't have to pay anything. She goes into Dr. A's office, he wouldn't even come out and speak with me, and he tells her tapeworms are caused by fleas, more or less insinuating that she got them from my flea-infested home. ALL of my pets are on monthly flea preventative and we DO NOT have fleas. I tell the receptionist again that the kitten had these worms when we adopted her, and she offers to go speak with Dr. A again, and I tell her forget it, and I just pay the $10 and tell the girl to cancel the kitty's spay appt. At this point I am never going back to this vet no matter what!! The kitten pooped out a ton of tape worms that afternoon and I took the kitty to my vet a couple of days later for an overall check up, since I was worried all around that she was unhealthy and sure enough, upper respiratory infection, AND AMC missed giving her one of her boosters for leukemia. Now we paid another $100 to my vet for meds, check up, and vaccination AND we will have to pay for her spay in a couple of weeks. I truly love this little kitten and I am happy to get her the care she needs. I just felt obligated to share my experience so that others can be informed. I thought this vet was doing something great by finding kittens homes, but now I wonder if it's just a money maker. And I know that our kitten had a sister that she was sharing a cage with, and I made it a point to tell the receptionist that they should call her new owners because she probably also has tapeworms. I was told that she DOES NOT have worms. But it was also mentioned that she is very tiny compared to my kitty, which worries me that she has worms really bad. If anybody from AMC reads this review, please call that family! read more
