Took my dog here once, she is a husky with long fur and had some matting on her left side. She is completely fine with grooming and getting her nails trimmed. When we picked her up, she was breathing heavy. Didn't think anything at first (she usually gets excited to see us again). But we noticed her fur was barely brushed, mat still present. She smelled nice but she didn't seem to have a deep clean bath like we asked as we still picked up some dandruff as we were scratching her favorite spots. And as soon as we took her home she ran to drink water. A LOT of water. They might have been short staffed that day as we only saw 1 woman. But the water really concerned us. Do NOT take your dogs here!!! I took my miniature long haired dachshund in for a bath and brush. I asked for bows in her long ear hair and was assured that would be done. After several hours I received a call from the groomer apologizing about it taking so long but she "forgot" about my dog (wtf?!) Then when I went to pick up my dog I am completely ignored by the groomer while she leisurely chats with the customers in front of me for an extended period of time. After they leave I pay (and tip 20%) and finally see my dog. She is no longer a long hair, the groomer COMPLETELY BUTCHERED my dachshund's beautiful long hair! There were no bows in her (now short) ear hair and she had a mat left on her ear!! It's important to note that my dog did not have any serious mats prior to getting groomed, only two small mats in her ears one of which was totally overlooked. To add insult to injury, the hack job was extremely poorly done with random long strands of her fur left and the cuts completely uneven (see pictures). Took my golden retriever here for a bath and a trim. When we picked him up he was completely shaved. Not only did the groomer NOT ask before shaving him, but she shaved a double coated dog which you're NEVER supposed to do. Especially since he barely had any matting so there was no reason for it. Now his coat is ruined and will never grow back correctly. Very disappointed. read more

My dog is a rescue, and I've had her groomed once, no issues at that time that I was made aware of. I tried to take her back there, but they were months out so I tried Hands to Paws since they have great reviews. I hate to give a bad review, and this isn't so much bad as didn't happen so I can't tell you if they do a good job or not. I dropped her off for full service, they had her 2+ hours. What I really needed was a face and fanny and nail trim. I got there and she was being dried but didn't look as if she'd been groomed. Woman comes out - says sorry - my dog was just too difficult to groom so it didn't happen. I said did you cut her nails? No, she wouldn't let her. I said can we try with me here? She says yes. And cuts her nails while I hold her. They trimmed a bit around her face (which I can do at home) but no fanny (which is what I really needed) They charged me $45 for a bath. I can give her a bath at home too. I guess I wouldn't recommend if your dog is nervous or afraid to be groomed. On the bright side, they didn't push and traumatize her by forcing her. read more

Ashley was one of the first "friends" Reba made. Reba is a tricolor cocker spaniel, who was very shy. When we tell her she is going to "the beauty parlor", she's excited. When she comes home, she's happy! Who could ask for more? She is so cute, looking so much younger and happier with her new trim cut as the season allows. I took my dog Lola to Hands to Paws for the first time yesterday, and I will never again go anywhere else! Their staff is friendly and welcoming and I felt no reserves about leaving my pup there for the morning. My dog has some weird little quirks and they listened to all the things I had to say and made sure to make my pup as comfortable as possible! After her appointment they took the time to fill us in on how she did and that also made me feel comfortable. When we got Lola back she had a sweet little haircut with long ears and a fluffy tail! The cut was even and they made sure to get all the excess hair brushed off before we got her back. It was $50 for a haircut, but there was a sign saying if you pay cash they'll brush your dog's teeth for free. read more

She was so very patient with my dog and did an amazing job at trying to keep him comfortable! When he came out he was very happy and handsome; He wasn't distressed by her. I want to start off with we have been turned away from other groomers because they thought snoopy was aggressive,and I saw a post for hands to paws and I reached out and the owner(very sweet person) said bring him in I will give it a shot! I was so excited I get him down there he's growls at her he barked but the whole time wagging his tail so she said she will at least clip his nails if anything,and a little bit later I get a text with a picture of him getting his bath I was so excited ! Had a !0am appt., after 3 hrs I called, girl told me 2-3 hrs, that it would be another 1/2 hr, because she had to bring her teething 6mth old and had to stop a few time. Told her I'd be back in 30 minutes hung up. She called me back and told me to come get my dog they would not be finishing him. OK Went back they had not even touched my dog, he sat in a cage for 3 hrs. I'm sure bringing a baby with all the hair and noise would be some sort of Health Violation for the for child.
