This charity saves dogs out of trash cans and from the streets. They are the most empathetic and give every dollar to stray and sick dogs. I have two Muttscout rescues and love them. Such sweet dogs. They make sure the dogs have their shots and are in good shape when you get them. You should see how bad they are when they start out. Definitely worth supporting.

I love Mutt Scouts. They save the dog's lives every day, and probably saved mine, too. All four of my dogs are from Mutt Scouts. I am forever grateful to this organization for everything they do for the dogs.

We had heard that Mutt Scouts needed foster parents, especially during the summer. We've always wanted to help this organization because of their outstanding efforts to save dogs. From start to adoption, Mutt Scouts was amazing. They made everything easy by arranging all the transport of the puppies to my house, dropping off a starter kit, and giving me the medical history and personality profiles of the puppies. When the puppies arrived in our home, there was the usual getting to know period and the puppies quickly became a part of my family. Mutt Scouts staff was always available to answer my questions (which I had a lot of) and within the 1st week, the 1st puppy got adopted. It warmed our hearts to see the puppy meet their forever family and it made us feel great. By the 2nd week, the 2nd puppy was adopted to her forever home. The lessons my kids learned from taking care of these dogs and doing something to make the world a better place will carry over into their adulthood. Mutt Scouts made it easy to make a societal impact one dog at a time. If you are in a season of life where you can handle a little change and excitement, please consider fostering. The Mutt Scouts community will be there for you all the way and every step of the way.

I started following Muttscouts on Instagram at the beginning of quarantine. I had been thinking about fostering for a while so I finally sent an application. I was hopeful. I love animals! And now I had so much free time - much like every other person who is now sitting at home trying to find ways to fill the monotony of too much free time. BUT of course I had to talk my life partner into the decision. He was on the fence because he was sure I (we) would be a foster fail. Fortunately some time passed before I heard back from them. Honestly I think enough time passed that I sent a second application. Obviously they receive a lot of emails- couldn't hurt to showcase my eagerness It was just enough time for me to formally put together my pitch "Why we would be the greatest foster parents" Our dog would be the the best big brother AND the best teacher. We love animals. We have a yard. We will be a part of a community of like minded people...Those who unselfishly and selflessly put the needs of animals before their own. Needless to say -He was sold. I received an email about finding a good time for setting up a virtual home visit and immediately responded. YES YES- I'm free now ! The Muttscouts interviewer was lovely and talked me through the whole process for fostering. She answered all my questions and concerns. And She told me about the dog she had in mind for us. YES OF COURSE we were ALMOST a foster fail. Our very first foster dog was an absolute angel. She was amazing. And we all fell in love with her. We watched her come out of her shell- and blossom from a terrified puppy who wouldn't leave the corner into a full on girl dog with confidence walking on the leash running free with the wind in her hair. After she was adopted- I cried for about three days. And immediately reached out to sign up for another foster. Fostering has been such a gift- and I am super grateful of the community of people I have met over these months From some of the volunteers down in San Diego, to potential adopters, other foster mamas and dog lovers who follow the journey of my fosters. I really look forward to the next puppy whose life we get to be a part of- even tho the crying in front of strangers part is super uncool. If you are thinking about adopting a dog Or donating to a group that works tirelessly to do good for animals in need. I can not say enough good things about the work these people are doing. It truly takes a village.

We are truly blessed to have such an amazing Humane Society in San Diego…read more They provide so many essential services to our community: spay/neuter, a free community pet pantry, pet training, dog licensing, lost‑and‑found support, humane euthanasia, rehoming assistance, and so much more. Their impact is huge, and there are countless ways to help -- no contribution is too big or too small. One thing I deeply appreciate is their Adoption Guarantee: If for any reason an adopter decides their new pet isn't the right fit for their home, the Humane Society will schedule an appointment to welcome the pet back -- without judgment or criticism. This level of compassion and support is rare and shows how committed they are to both animals and adopters. Some meaningful ways to get involved include: Donating money Volunteering Participating in the Dog Day Out program Supporting the Community Cat Program Fostering Adopting instead of shopping Spaying/neutering your pets Sharing or reposting their information to spread awareness The San Diego campus is next‑level -- very clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed. Across the county, they have four campuses: San Diego, Escondido, El Cajon, and Oceanside (Escondido has a great setup for livestock and farm animals). Every staff member I've interacted with has been compassionate and patient. They deal with animals in distress every single day, so a little grace goes a long way.

Then I asked for a supervisor because she was just so rude. I asked for her name and she told me her name was Jessica, then later I found out she lied and her name was actually Lauren. When I later asked her why she said her name was Jessica when her name was really Lauren, she said it's her middle name and she goes by it some times. Yet no one there ever knew her name was Jessica. Anyway, rough experience today. I just hope they don't treat everyone this way because no one will adopted :(

We got to meet a lot of adorable dogs, and one little guy instantly stole our hearts. What really stood out was how thoughtful and thorough TAP's process is. There was no pressure to adopt on the spot, which we really appreciated. After the event, we completed an application and received clear next steps. The following week, our foster brought him to our home so we could spend more time together. That confirmed everything we felt at the event. TAP conducted a home visit and checked our references, and it was clear throughout the process that they truly care about the well being of their animals and making the right match. Our foster was amazing, so kind and supportive. When we brought our little guy home, she sent him with his toys, some food, and a sweet note, which meant so much to us. Such a wonderful experience overall, and now our home is filled with love, laughter, and lots of snuggles.

Where do I start with the excellent care and customer service?! One of the many things I loved is that most of the dogs in their care are in foster homes. So there is so much time, training and attention to each pup that you simply can't get with a shelter. Breezy was mostly potty trained, had time around other dogs to learn how to behave, and so much was known about her behaviors and care. I just adored her amazing foster Mommy, Alex! She let us come to her home and spend an hour meeting both puppies (it was originally between her and her brother, Elvis, who is also a doll!!! Someone PLEASE scoop up that cutie!). I came with a list of questions and she answered every last one in detail and was so patient. I'm forever grateful for the wonderful love and care Alex put into my beautiful girl before I got her. From the application process to the actual adoption it was roughly a week and a half. I was surprised at how fast they were able to move and pleasantly so. I was contacted via email and text at all different parts of the adoption process by various volunteers- Joelle, Deborah, Jen, Alex and Breana are a few of the wonderful women I spoke to, but there was so many more involved. Each and every individual was knowledgeable on Breezy's care and her life before The Animal Pad. However short lived that was. Bree came spayed, had her first round of shots and was even microchipped! Which was a huge selling point for me. You know how expensive those all are out of pocket?!! It's worth every last penny of the $500+ I paid to know she was well cared for before I got her! She's the most loving and easy baby I've ever had! They even came and picked up the old things I had from my former soul baby, Adonis. It was heartbreaking to let the last reminders of him go. But I met some of the kindest humans in the process- Jen and her hubby. With an empathetic ear and even a hug I was left with a sense of comfort in that difficult moment. Knowing Adonis's things will go to good use is far more valuable than any monetary value I may have gotten for any of it. They were happily surprised at all that I was sending and came to me to scoop it all up! The Animal Pad is a rescue full of animal people who do this because it nourishes the soul! Not for profit! They do not discriminate if you live in an apartment, have had a bad experience where you have to return a former adoptee, are actively planning a family or any other reason that I'd been denied from two other rescues. I'd begun to lose hope in finding a new baby to love, until Animal Pad. Now I have the very best fit and I see clearly I simply wasn't meant to have any other puppers aside from Bree! We were meant for each other and she is deeply adored!! THANK YOU to everyone at The Animal Pad!!! You are one of the good ones and I'll continue to sing your praises to all that'll listen! I'm forever grateful to each and every one of you!

A love that extends not just to our fellow human beings, but to the voiceless, the innocent & the often forgotten.
