I have been a customer here for massages for 3 years and have always been happy with the service. I live in Redmond and woke up to over 3 inches of snow and left 2 messages asking to reschedule. I did eventually talk to a person, informed them of the road conditions. I asked to reschedule, they said ok, but they will be charging my card for the whole service. I said I would not be rescheduling and will not be coming back. I questioned this and asked if they still charge even with weather conditions and was told "Yep" very curtly. I am sorry to say I cannot recommend this place. I had an ecard I bought during their Black Friday sale, but I see they have already charged my card. I will try to get a refund for the ecard, but as of now I have spent $270 on this massage. What a disappointment in a place I have always looked forward to visiting. read more

Unfortunately, I would not recommend Anjou Spa. I booked an appointment then was asked for a credit card number & expiration number. I didn't mind giving that, but then I was asked for the security code I did mind giving that. I was told they could not book the appointment without that so I told her I would take my business elsewhere. With all the completion in spas/facials and the economy not being wonderful, you would think they would be satisfied with a credit card number, expiration number & phone number. Anjou only has a 4* recommendation, other spas/facial businesses have 5*'s. It's too bad Anjou is a little "snooty & not user friendly. read more

One of if not the best spa in Bend. Make an appointment and enjoy yourself in the relaxation room and sauna. Anjou has a membership program which we have been a part of for almost two years and feel it is very equitable for us ... we go about twice a month and have been to almost every established spa in the Bend and Sisters area and have chosen Anjou as our favorite. This is a full service spa with seasonal specials mostly targeted toward women but, YES, ladies take your man, boy toy. or whatever as Anjou is very accommodating with a men's area with shower and men's product. I'd say this would be a great spa if you're taking your man out for his first mani-pedi or couples massage. The Hydro Massage is ... not even sure how to describe it, but it is really relaxing and i'd suggest a 90 minute treatment. Put a fork in you cause you'll be done afterwards. I called for a brow wax and was informed that I could not schedule one without adding on another treatment. I have been getting my brow waxed at Anjou for years. It's one of the few luxuries to which I treat myself. I was essentially told by the receptionist that I don't make enough money to be a client. I cannot afford more, and I am not welcome. I found it to be discouraging, disheartening, and grossly elitist. What a shame. Hopefully not the new Bend norm. read more

First time at this spa. Had a tough time deciding between a 3-star rating or four but because at the end we'd come back we'll give it a four (somewhat hesitantly for the reasons indicated below): Music selection, weird to say the least. Went from a parochial sound to "cocktail'sh" like beat. Definitely not relaxing spa-type! Will say something next time. We had a couple's massage in what appeared to be their best/largest room. The problem: an incredibly bright skylight. I requested the eye pads in order to enjoy my massage. Other than that, the room was great! Now to the important part and reason we came here, our massage...we both asked for deep-tissue massages. He got what he wanted but my masseuse admitted before we even got started that her method was more like a Swedish massage but with an attitude. Well, I waited for the attitude part and never got it! Frustrating. Not sure if it was the age or lack of experience but she just didn't have the strength, she gave me all she could give and it this was not a deep tissue massage let me tell ya! I thought for sure I'd enjoy the neck, feet and hands part of the experience but even that was weak, and way too fast! So I really should give a 3 rating based on my personal massage experience. However, I like the cleanliness of the place, their products, the steam room, locker rooms, robes and a fantastic piece of chocolate w/champagne made up (somewhat) for the other stuff. read more

I have been going to Anjou spa for over 5 years and have loved them but the latest changes there have made it anything but relaxing. Now it's all about upselling. My last facial was anything but a happy one. When I first got in the room for my facial she tried to sell me extra services, again while I was getting my facial and as I was leaving. There is no more warm friendly feeling, no personal talk, no extras. Not even a how was your day. I do not feel valed or cared about there anymore. Very disappointing and I will not be continuing my membership. Makes me very sad. I also juat had to cancel an appointment more than 24 hours before my appointment due to illness and I was charged $30. This is outrageous. So sad. No personal care, no appreciation for loyalty anymore. You are just $$$$ to them now. read more

My first time at the new location and all I can say is WOW! It is absolutely stunning and so comfortable. My mother got me a gift certificate for my birthday and I am so happy. I got the 90 minute body wise massage with Leah. She was amazing and so knowledgeable. Plus, we had wonderful conversation the entire time. Afterward I enjoyed the hot sand room which was to die for! I'll be back very soon. On the downside though, and reason for only 4 stars, was the booking process. I had been online to book and decided to just call the next day instead. Although there were online appointments available, the receptionist claimed they could not get me in until the end of the month. Primarily because their employees were not trained in the massage I wanted that's on their menu. I gave up hope, but still tried online. Managed to book an appointment for a week later online and had no issues. When I brought it up to the front desk staff after my appointment, they had no answer as to why that was and told me not to trust online appointments because they don't always get booked through. With the exception of having minimal staff trained in all the services and the booking process, I would say this was one of my best visits out of the many I've had. I'll be back very soon! read more

I had such a lovely spa day with my BFF!! The sand and steam room were both so clean and relaxing!! Then I had a massage while my friend had a facial. We both had great treatments and the esthetician was so knowledgeable about recommending products. After our treatments we sat by the fire with a cup of tea and relaxed some more. I've been to Anjou Spa a few times now over my time in Bend and have always thoroughly enjoyed myself. My most recent appointment was a facial, which might have been the most relaxing experience I've had at a spa anywhere. The front desk people were kind and welcoming and my service was above and beyond anything I've had before. Over the years, I've also had deep tissue massages and relaxation massages here and they have always been wonderful, so after my recent experience the only problem I have is choosing which service to get! I wanted to let everyone know how I was treated at this spa. I have been a member and a client for over 10 years. I have bought my product there and visit it on a regular basis. Last weekend I got so sick my daughter almost had to take me to urgent care. I called the spa the morning after being sick to let them know that I was just getting over the flu. My massage apt was later that day and I probably could still make it but wanted to be honest with them about how sick I was the night before. They told me I was not to come in but that they were still charging me $110 for the massage. This is the worst I have ever been treated by a company that I have been so loyal too. If you want a company that values their customers this is not the one for you. read more

The spa had a great appearance. When I was checking in the ladies were discussing their jobs instead of getting me checked in and feeling welcome. When the lady took me back to the locker room she didn't show me where anything was and I was left to figure out robes and lockers. I would like to highlight that the facial and the sauna were great. But the steam room was broken. Then I received the sweet renewal massage. The scrub was only legs, arms, and back. For the cost of the service I was under the impression that it was a full body scrub like other spas do for a body scrub. The massage was honestly the worst I have ever had. The therapist did not check in on pressure at all. Even after I asked her to modify her pressure. I also had to redirect during my massage to have her work on my lower back. Overall the technique was disappointing and I don't like that I had to interrupt my service to ask for what I thought would be common sense. I would return for the facial service but nothing else! read more

Where do I start. The miscommunication from this spa was top notch. Not once, but 4 times we were told (on the phone home and in person at the appt) that my wife and daughter could have a massage in the same room. They notified us they couldn't do the massage but could do a facial instead. Ok, in the same room? Yes. We get there and they proceed to state they cannot do the facial in the same room. Me, the customer had to help them with how to accommodate what they kept affirming was ok on how to set this up so they could have their bonding time (mother/daughter) in the same room. The owner is beyond capable of acknowledging anything- Let's wager this, I bet you one "facial" the manager will respond to this review with guess what? Lack of acknowledgement to their "simple miscommunication " (is it simple when it's 4x incorrect for the same request by us tho?) the one thing they do communicate well on is making you know they charge a 50-% cancellation fee. Big eye-roll as to why they needed to press this (because they have issues). The real issue here (and lack of any acknowledgment from the owner is they said they could accommodate our request on our first call. Realized they couldn't and changed it based on our 2nd and 3rd call switching the service THEN AGAIN when we arrived. You know what they did to accommodate? They stuck my daughter on a cushion in the corner of the room and charged us for a full facial for her (oh yeah they took 10% off the bill- so impressive) - this is called a bait and switch coupled with idiocy at the highest levels. Over priced and terrible management including the owner. Explains why they are a mess there. do yourself a favor, go to another spa - still never got a "receipt" from them other than a minimal discount. Zero stars should be an option. read more

Beware of Anjou Spa's policy of charging 50% of a service cancelled for illness. They won't provide service when you are ill or if your spouse tests positive for COVID. That is perfectly understandable. But if you cancel less than 24 hours ahead of your schedule you are charged half of the service. Policy comes before health. Money over customer welfare. read more

They scheduled our appointment on the wrong day, a Month off, so when we showed up they turned us away. They take 2-4 days to return calls. When they rescheduled us they could not provide the service we wanted and did not communicate clearly so we still have not been able to schedule with them, because they have not looked into it like they said they would and started emailing instead of calling. i've had multiple facials done here & every time my skin feels AMAZING! i always leave with my skin feeling so refreshed, dewy & moisturized & it lasts! highly recommend the aqua facial (i was unsure because of the price but it was SO worth it my face felt like glass for a week!) & the regular custom facial i got a dermaplane add in it helped take the dead skin off my face & it helped with my problem areas! everyone is so nice & inviting & the employees went out of their way to make sure i had a great experience ( estheticians and front desk)! 10/10 would recommend & i will be coming back! read more

I had a wonderful experience here. Very pretty, well decorated and calming atmosphere. My massage therapist was Jessie and she was amazing. She has great pressure and great technique. She also has a sweet, lovely demeanor. The changing area was nice and very clean (sometimes spa changing areas aren't well stocked and clean, so that's something that means a lot to me). I love the apricot scented oil they use for the face massage. I got a little chocolate at the end of my massage. I don't know if it's because it was mother's day or because that's just what they do, but it was really nice to have a little piece of chocolate with my water after the massage. My husband. was looking forward to the pedicure for men, however due to the first snow storm of the season we were unable to make the appointment. I was calling to cancel when I was interrupted by an emergency call from a relative. In all the confusion I forgot to call back, and was working on the "crisis" when the salon called. Even though they didn't expect clients to drive in that weather (my husband is 85) the policy is to charge for missed appointments even though we wanted to reschedule. Facial done last Thursday. The staff member used cupping to increase blood flow; advised that I might need an ice pack that evening. When I went to the reception area, all of the front desk staff were incredulous at the bruising and blistering to my face. They did not charge me for the procedure. I still have bruising to my cheeks and forehead 4 days later. I've had facial cupping before and this has never happened! We contacted the clinic through their email 3 times. No response. No apology. I've used this spa for years now, and on average it's been a delight. I love the fact that they use healthier products and the atmosphere is peaceful, with a small lounge area in front of a fireplace. In the past, pre-reno, one could enter and be led in to the lounge to enjoy the moment, be offered something to drink, sit in the sand room...More recently, the experience has been a bit less 'pampering'. If you receive a facial you are requested to enter/exit in a separate area, which is more like a shop than a relaxing spa entrance, so you basically miss out on the lounge area, and no one offered refreshments. I did ask if I could use the lounge, but they had to ask someone, which didn't make me feel too welcome. Then you have to go through a bathroom to get to it, and once there no one asked if I wanted anything. Not a fan of the new system. Also, I had a facial with a technician that I was thrilled with, so I requested her again. This time, after a short wait, someone else came to 'collect' me; not the person I had requested. I was told that the other tech couldn't make it that day, which I can understand, but I would have liked the opportunity to have rescheduled for a time when the person requested would have been available. As it stood, I wasn't notified and the experience, while not bad, wasn't what I had been looking forward to. Makes me a bit sad to write this, but also felt that they, and potential clients, should know. read more

The manager invited me to come back on comp, and I had a really lovely massage. I waited long enough to go back in that she didn't realize who I was during my massage, so it's not like I got any special treatment because she felt bad-- she really just did a great job because that's what, I believe, she does every day. I took my mom with me, and she had a great massage too, from a different therapist. We also enjoyed our time in the relaxation room with wine. Thanks Anjou for following up on this. I'll give 'em another try! * * * I received a SpaFinder gift certificate for Christmas and saved it for 8 months-- I have two small children so a) it's not easy to make time for self-indulgence, and b) I really need some self-indulgence. Let's just say I was REALLY looking forward to my massage. I booked a 90-minute massage because in my experience, 60 is just not enough. You barely start to relax and then bam, it's over. Here's what happened: I show up on time. The bubbly receptionist checks me in, shows me around, shows me to the locker room, gives me a robe and asks me to wait in the relaxation room and someone will come get me. So I do. For an hour. (I fell asleep for a while-- see aforementioned two small children; I am sleep-deprived-- and lost track of time, but eventually knew I'd been there way too long.) I flip-flop myself up to the front desk in my robe (awkward) and say, "I have been waiting for an hour." The receptionist panics, asks me my name, then says, "I thought you were a no-show." I say, "You checked me in." It is very Twilight Zone. (Later when I left, I listened to a voicemail message from her asking if I was going to show up for my appointment-- that call came while I was sitting in the spa, in the relaxation room.) The last thing she says to me is, "I am so sorry; I am TOTALLY going to discount you." So they hustle to find someone to give me my massage. She's good, but it's too late. I can hardly stop being angry-- and then the massage is done. I did not get a 90-minute massage. I got a 60-minute massage. Then I check out. The receptionist is gone and someone else is there. She is all serene and smiley and apologizes for my experience; to make amends, she would like to give me a trial size bottle of face cleanser (for dry skin-- I have oily skin) and 10% off my massage. (See aforementioned: "I am TOTALLY going to discount you.") Ten percent. She also says that the manager is SO sorry about what happened and is going to call me. That was two weeks ago. No one has called. It is one thing to mess up. It is another to fail to make it right. Anjou Spa had several opportunities to make it right and failed on all of them. Anjou describes itself as being a "green" spa. I don't know much about that, but I do know that Anjou was a very classy place! We'd made appointments months ago to coincide with a trip to Sunriver. We arrived early and were given lockers, robes and told to sit in the steam room. It was VERY hot. Hotter than most steam rooms I've been in. But they provided ice water with lemon and ice cold towels for your face. Next, we were taken to our rooms. The massage tables are heated. The room was dark enough to allow sleeping if you want. The massage was excellent. After the massage, we were directed into the "recovery room." It was a cute room with comfy chairs and a couch, a fireplace, and table set up for tea, ice water, and snacks of almonds and dried cranberries. It was an excellent way to finish the massages. Too many places rush you out. We were given $10 off my massage because it was my birthday, which was great! Anjou is an affordable alternative to going to a really fancy spa! read more

I love love the atmosphere......It can feel a bit busy because it does have tight quarters, the sound does carry, and in the room for mani's and pedi's it's a bit tight. The steamroom is awesome, but the temperature of the steam is about 3-5 degree's too hot (it could burn your feet if you don't pull them away from the unit that it shoots out of). All-in-all, I do love it and everyone is super nice!!!! Can't beat the beverage options too! I'll go back again, for sure. Okay so here is the deal. I lived in Bend. I don't anymore. I miss this spa on a weekly basis! I didn't realize how much I missed it until I couldn't go to it!! Every trip I take to Bend I make sure and make a long relaxing appointment at Anjou! The staff is welcoming, the place is spotless and sanitary, it smells like heaven and most importantly every single treatment is the best thing that has ever happened to you! A great experience. This is only my second spa experience so I'm no pro. But I will rate this based on a layman's perspective. My girlfriend signed me up for a one-hour massage. We went in and we were shown to our bathrooms to shower and put away our clothes. We put on robes and these slippers that kept pinching my feet every time I took a step. Sad face. We were told there was a steam room, so we found it and tried it out. It would have been nice if we were shown how to turn it on, but we figured it out. The room was a little small and when the steam came out it made such a loud, overwhelming hiss that my girlfriend got freaked out and left the steam room. I'm not sure if this is normal... we're from Hawaii so we don't have many steam rooms. We were told to hang out and relax until our appointment time, but since there were no clocks and my watch was in the locker, I didn't know what time it was! We just waited in the relaxation room until someone got us. My massage was great. The woman, I think her name was Jane, asked me what areas I wanted to concentrate on and we talked for a while about nice areas in the Northwest to check out. She was very professional and got a feel for how firm I wanted my massage, then went to town on my back. I think I passed out, or went into that dream-like state where time goes by really quickly, and before I knew it, the massage was over! I felt very relaxed. I was shown to the relaxation room, where I was given a ginger-infused beer with locally brewed Vodka (only in Oregon!) until my girlfriend was finished with her body scrub. Don't waste your time and money! Poorly managed spa. I had attempted twice to reach the manager about my concerns and was told I would receive a phone call back but never did. I've been going to this spa for years and have seen a huge decline in how it's been managed as can be seen by turn over in staff and how services are provided. As mentioned by many others, receptionists are less than helpful and need lots of training. Two recent examples of this poorly managed spa: 1) They somehow have managed to drive away their experienced nail technicians and only have one left. My one experience with her left me less than satisfied (summer 2019). I had asked for one of my nails to be trimmed down and she refused. When I asked to use her nail trimmer she refused. If I would have known that, I would have trimmed them before coming in, but that is the point of paying someone to do your pedicure. After my pedicure was done it looked as though it had been a week since they were painted because she left a border as to not touch my skin. I have refused to go back there and have asked multiple times if there was a new technician hired but nope. 2) January 2020, I set up a surprise for my mom and sister to be treated to a massage. When scheduling the massage, I made it clear that I wanted my card on file to be charged for the massages along with a prepaid tip. When they were done with their massage, they were asked for payment. My mom then had to inform them that I was supposed to be paying for it while she took out her credit card. The receptionist then looked and said, "Oh yeah. It's right here in the notes." Well that took away the nice feeling of a gift. After they left my mom then was sent the receipt for both massages that were charged to my credit card. Again, nice way to show a gift! So frustrating!! Also,The locker room is less than desirable. If there is one other person in there it is really uncomfortable as the space is very small. You would not be able to take a shirt off without touching the other person. It's as if they set it up to only have one person changing at a time. Somehow they didn't think through this when rebuilding the spa. There are better spas in Bend, where you will be treated with more respect and have more comfortable experience. **Edited in response to the owner. I will not be going back to this spa but for other's information: 1) No one has ever tried contacting me (no missed calls or voicemails or emails or texts) as stated they have reached out multiple times. 2) My nail trim was not a podiatrist issue. If it was, any future consumer should be highly concerned about going to this spa as they would quickly share protected health information on a public forum. 3) My mom did not ask for a receipt and even if she had, why would they email the recipient of the person receiving the gift instead of the person who paid for it. Again, it shows their lack of professionalism and integrity you would expect. Again, consumers beware. ***One more Update, as I'm sure most consumers can gather what they can from all of this. I have had the same phone number for 20 years and have received confirmation texts to my phone as well as other confirmation phone calls for services I have received over the past years. I have never had an issue with the spa contacting me; however, when I expressed concerns, now all of a sudden I cannot be reached. Interesting. Also of note, the owner never attempted to contact me even after the review and posting her response. I would again note lack of professionalism and integrity. read more

On a girls trip out to Oregon, my friend made reservations for us to get a massage while staying in Bend for two nights. Online reservations were very easy to make, allowing for selection of the specific therapist you'd like, assuming you have a preference. I was a little taken aback by the prices, since they were somewhat steeper than I'm accustomed to in another state, but hey, it was vacation! We had 10:00 appointments and arrived about 15 minutes early. The initial paperwork was very brief to complete, and we were quickly escorted to the ladies changing room. We were thrilled with the snuggly chocolate-brown fleecy robes, and the rubber sandals, which initially weirded us out, are way better than the disposable styrofoam ones most spas use. After changing, we spent about 10 minutes lounging in the lovely relaxation room. My only annoyance was that the water for tea had to be heated up, which took quite some time, so I ended up just drinking water. The music they pipe through the building is enjoyable: instrumental music that even includes more popular songs or music soundtracks, not just chimes and nature sounds. My massage therapist was Lindsay, who struck the perfect balance of silence and conversation. She did a fantastic job with my massage, focusing on the areas I was having the most trouble with and checking on my comfort level. I loved the offer of the inclusion of a complimentary aromatherapy oil, which just made the whole process a little more of a treat than it already was. My friend's massage was done by Tammy, and she echoed the same comments. Since both of us have extremely high stress levels with our jobs, the therapists were very sensitive to how we reacted following the massage and made sure we were comfortably settled in to recover. Since I had a shorter massage than my friend, I got to enjoy a glass of champagne while waiting on her. Needless to say, I felt extremely spoiled. We spent about 15 minutes in the steam room once we were both finished, which was kind of a pain to get started and we had to locate the receptionist to set it for us. As a note, it's a co-ed steam room, which could be uncomfortable for some people. Before wrapping up the morning, we showered in the women's changing room, and I fell crazy-in love with the products they had available for use (I'd have purchased several, but the prices were extremely high). In all, we spent two and a half hours at the spa, and it was worth every penny. Our vacation was definitely elevated to a higher level because of the appointment. I'm a guy and I LOVE this spa. My wife and I recently moved to Bend and we have been twice already. Our first visit was for a couples massage. After weeks of moving out of one house and into another, our muscles were tired and sore. We needed a break. The massage we received was simply amazing! Anjou took such good care of us, made us feel welcome and relaxed. After the massage we received complementary beer and wine (other cocktails were available as well. A week and a half later, we decided we needed pedicures. Guys, trust me here...if you are NOT getting pedicures, you are REALLY missing out! And Anjou really makes this a truly enjoyable experience. Posting this under my Husbands account, as I normally don't leave reviews, but I felt the need to share for the visiting nail clients- Ashley B. Massage was wonderful! However, my gel nails are already chipping on multiple fingers after only FOUR DAYS. I've had plenty of $25 manicures that have lasted much longer than this $45 manicure. My manicure looks like it's at least two weeks old :( Not impressed. Quiet area is beautifully decorated but not very relaxing as it's in the middle of all of the rooms where services are happening. Aka, a lot of foot traffic by staff and clients. Not much seating either in comparison to other spas in our area. But did I mention the massage was amazing? Bottom line, great for a massage but save your money when it comes to the nail department. Also, beware of busy times as it's a small spa. read more

What they don't tell you at the front desk is that the polish they use takes a full 24-hours to dry. Which is fine, just wish they'd said as much. I opted against it since I'm not keen on polish inside my snowboarding boots. I enjoyed being greeted with a champagne cocktail, my man had a beer. We enjoyed having pedicures together in the same room. We were able to jibber-jabber away about all the things that we jibber-jabber about and weren't concerned about entertaining or being entertained by our asetheticians. The pedicure was standard fare with a few exceptions. I opted out of the polish and was terribly aware that my aesthetician thoroughly scratched up the surface of my nails. I thought that was odd, never experienced that before. I had a buff and shine AND a bunch of scratches. Once I got into the dressing room I noticed that my nails weren't entirely clean - y'know the little sock fuzzies that sometimes get in there - yea, they were still there, only wet. I'm sure they smelled nice. We were offered the steam room and took it. It's a tiny little thing with the steam spraying about on the floor of the room, which made our feet very hot. It was not very comfy. So we called it and left. The price was right. I'm accustomed to pedis that cost twice what Anjou was charging, and so, for what it was worth, it was worth it. The facility was nice. So, yea, we'll probably go back for more champagne and beer pedi casual time. read more
