I'm so glad I trusted Anna's with my wedding weekend dresses! They did a fabulous job with my ceremony dress and reception dress. I brought in a very simple wedding dress (strapless, midi) and fairly simple reception dress (halter, maxi). Both mainly needed tightening at the waist. They were ready to pick up within 2 weeks, and I paid around $130 for both. The actual appointment was very quick--I was pinned and dropped off the dresses in around 30 minutes. They absolutely ruined an $800 dress by cutting it way too short. Then they tried to tell me they didn't know who worked with me. I did. My two pants that were done by the short hair girl came out perfectly. The other lady used the same chalk and managed to cut it 1.5 inches too short. I'm so livid and they took ZERO responsibility. We had a great experience with my wedding dress! We made an appointment but it was easy to do and they could get me in quickly. Everyone is really nice and the facility is clean. They have several dressing rooms, then pedestals with mirrors to stand on. I only needed the straps to be taken in a bit and a bustle. It took 6 weeks with going in one additional time between dropping it off and picking it up to 'check in'. It was $400 for the straps to be taken in and the bustle. read more

Needed a bridesmaid dress taken in (friend recommended this place), had basically the same dress (from same place, same style and material) and needs, to be taken in on the sides and hemmed at the bottom. when she went , she was charged 66$ aces months ago. They wanted to charge me 200$. the dress itself was 130$. I understand that it could have been a bit different but the Alterations were priced more than the dress itself. I would also have to lose the pockets.also had to be two separate fittings. I also felt like I was super rushed and had no time to even think about it, felt like I was on a conveyer belt. thankfully I was able to pick it it back up without any issue the next day. I initially came here because the dress shop I had purchased my dress from recommended Anna's. The staff was condescending, and I felt that I was rushed when my dress was getting pinned. when I had told the seamstress that I needed the bottom shortened she acted uninterested and put a singular pin at the bottom of the dress. they had my dress for a month, and when I picked it up yesterday I noticed the dress wasn't even shortened and the bust wasn't brought in. they charge you extra even if they mess up the hem. so I took it to someone else and requested a refund. they would not offer it and were extremely rude when we were explaining the situation. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I requested some measurements be taken and the response received was the request is too complicated, it is to complicated to take measurements as drawn and write down the numbers. I have used them for alterations on occasions but now that I recognize their failure in customer service I will seek other sources who will benefit from patronage. It was a Thursday evening and I took in my boys Takwondo suit to get their patches sewn on and I explained I needed them back in one day, the cashier explained that it was no problem and it would be an additional $7 each. Bringing the total to $15 a piece to get the patches stitched on. My husband picked up the following day and they were perfect! I bought jeans from nearby Revolution and when I mentioned I needed them hemmed, the sales girl immediately told me about Anna's and not to look elsewhere, and she was so confront with this opinion that I had to check it out. They saved my jacket! I have this cycling jacket that I've literally worn to death. It is 11 years old and I love it. It's the perfect middle weight, it's the perfect sleeve length, etc. But, of course, after 11 years of use and abuse, the zipper finally went kaput. Even though the jacket is an awkward synthetic fabric that is not at all normal for alterations to be done on, Anna's took it on like a champ. They replaced my zipper and now my jacket is good to go again! Plus, they hemmed some pants that were too long. Total cost for new zipper to save my $100 jacket plus hemming of my pants: $30. And I'd pay it again in a heart beat! read more

A rare five stars for Anna's that continues to do superb alterations of all kinds in a timely and super proficient way. Have had to recently re-gear up into business attire and have found that many of my suits and sports coats have shrunken. It must be the southern humidity, of that I am certain. But whatever the cause, the alterations had to be done correctly by people experienced in men's clothing. And does Anna have the expertise. A bevvy of Asian women scurry about measuring, altering and covering the cash register, which is constantly busy. To just be in the building is a show unto itself. Lots of men and women being fitted. Have seen the most lovely and striking gowns draped on women to include some wedding dresses. And nothing phases the sew-girls (term left over from my Korea time). They all take the time to try the tucks and lengths to make sure that the customers is getting what they want. You will feel like a king or queen while there and throughout the Anna's experience. Yay for people who can fix my clothes! Anna's Alterations is a great place to bring your stuff for the tuck in here, let out there... My husband's pants where approximately $10 for the fix, my suit jacket was $44. Yes, it was significantly more, but due to the special construction, more work was required. Got it back looking the exact same, but they made it to fit perfectly. The turn around time can't be beat either! It was ready within a few days or a week, but knowing me, I take a few weeks to get around to picking it up. They also have a 2 week policy. If you pick it up without trying it on, you have 2 weeks to bring it back to make another change. read more

Hello fellow petite ladies - this place should be on your speed dial. I'm tiny (just slightly under 5' tall) so everything has to be altered. When I move to Charlotte about 7 months ago I started looking for a tailor immediately as I was getting married and needed a few outfits for the wedding weekend taken in. Location/Atmosphere: Located in Dilworth in the same shopping center as the Famous Toastery. There is plenty of parking! The shop itself is rather large. They have about 6 dressing rooms for you to try on your clothing before coming out and getting measured. The shop is always clean. There is plenty of natural light which really helps when you are trying on the clothes. Service: You are always greeted when you open the door. The women that work there are very sweet and prompt. I typically bring my own shoes, but they always have an available pair. Price: I think it's pretty reasonable, but I'm also coming from DC and NY where alterations were pretty expensive. I had a Jenny Yoo bridesmaid dress with multiple layers altered here recently (taken in on the straps and hemmed) and it cost about $50. Notes: It's a simple process, they'll ask if you need a room, you change, come out of the dressing room and get on a provided step or platform, they'll discuss your wants and give their opinion (if asked), they'll dust and pin as necessary! I went to Ana's because it was right next to a few other stores I was shopping at. I went to pick it up today and was charged $26. I asked about the charge to the owner. I said it was fine but it would be good for them to explain what the pricing is prior to making the alterations. She said that they don't do that and it's my responsibility as a customer to ask. She was defensive, did not apologize for misunderstanding and did not like the feedback. I do not recommend them and will not be back. :( Being forthright about pricing and a good customer experience is important to me. It's unfortunate, they do nice work. read more

Petite people, I know you hear me when I say that pants are SO DANG HARD to buy for our short little legs!! I'm 5'1" and when I moved to Charlotte a couple of years ago, I knew I needed to befriend a tailor, stat. I can't say I've befriended the folks at Anna's Alterations, per se, but I have used their services for multiple clothing items, and have always been very happy with the results. I took two pairs of dress pants to get hemmed during my most recent visit and walked out a week later with slacks that fit great - and it only cost a mere $16. Not bad, considering there's no way I'd try to do this myself. What I love about Anna's is that they have a large, airy dressing room (like the rooms at any retail store) filled with natural light from the large storefront windows. Step up on the stool with the pair of shoes you brought or choose from a variety of kicks they keep just in case just in case you forgot your own, and you'll be in and out in ten minutes flat.
