    Anna’s Cafe 9/2019

The entrance to Anna's Cafe is up a flight of steps to the entrance which leads into their goodsized dining space. Head in and around the corner to the counter were you place your order and pay. After perusing their chalkboard breakfast and lunch (after 10am) menus, I decided to go with the veggie quesadilla $4.50. I settled myself at a table and they brought my dish over piping hot and accompanied by cool salsa and sour cream. The vegetables were colorful and retained a nice fresh firmness mingled with the hot melty cheese. It was a satisfying lunch, though perhaps a bite or two more than my appetite actually needed. Seeing as I enjoy having both sweet and savory at brunchtime, I appreciated seeing that they offer a french toast and hash brown combination for $4.75.

Overall, this is a cute spot in Charlestown with pretty decent cafe food and coffees/teas that is a great value for money and has friendly, helpful staff. We will definitely come back the next time we're in the area. The two of us kinda balled out and we got: sausage egg and cheese on a croissant, turkey egg and cheese on an Asiago bagel, a cinnamon roll, a pistachio muffin, a medium iced tea, and a large iced cold brew coffee. First off, we got all of that and the total was about $18.50... we thought they had made a mistake, but nope it was that good of a deal. The drinks were average - not bad, but not the best. The sausage egg and cheese was delicious (I mean you can't go wrong there). It was nice they had deli turkey as an option, and the bagel was three c's thiccc and delicious. The cinnamon roll was dry, but again for the price it was all good. The service here was above and beyond. My girlfriend had ordered the pistachio muffin for herself, but I wanted a bite. It looked like it was topped with walnuts (which I'm allergic to), so we asked the staff if it had nuts. She wasn't sure, so she went upstairs to look at the recipe for us, couldn't find it, so then she called the bakery where they get them from. After about five minutes (just for my one bite!), she confirmed that they did have walnuts and offered to even reimburse us for the muffin. We didn't need that, but I wished I caught her name! We really appreciated how much she cared and went out of her way to make sure we knew. Also pro tip: we took the muffin home later and grilled it over the stove in butter - absolutely delicious. Thank you Anna's - we will be back!

I come here almost every morning because I work at Charlestown High School. I order an egg and tomato on a croissant and it's delicious!! The croissant is toasted perfectly and the tomatoes are super fresh. The staff are just so pleasant and energetic so early in the morning and I can appreciate that since I have to be at work by 7:20. The tea selection is also amazing; I love green tea and they have a few different flavors for it. There's a nice sized seating area and a television typically showing the news. I definitely enjoy this cozy cafe during my morning commute.

Had the most wonderful time at Anna's Cafe in Charles Town, starting with how charming the cafe is, it's perfect for a meet up or a quick bit, it even has a small library for kids. Family inviting! I got the chicken pesto panini and chips. It's the perfect size, the homemade taste brings you in, but the coffee and service keeps you coming and makes you family. My drink of choice was their cappuccino, made from medium dark roast Kanbanii bean. Yes, I plan to visit again

Two turkey egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches. One on an everything bagel and one on a croissant.

Came in here for some breakfast and coffee because of its proximity to the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. My wife and I both ordered a turkey egg and cheese sandwich. Mine was on an everything bagel and hers was on croissant. The sandwiches were tasty and warm, but obviously microwaved. The drinks we ordered were really good. The lady that serves us was super friendly. An older lady behind the counter was friendly-ish to us but was definitely judging people based on how they looked and I can see where many of the reviews complained about on friendly staff. We did not have this experience, as the young lady who served me and my wife was very personable and friendly.

Friendly folks, coffee average, food is ok depends what you get. I got a breakfast sandwich which was yummy but hubs got pancakes and hash brown and scramble and that was NOTHING special. In fact, looked Like microwaved pancakes. Overall not impressed, won't be back

On the particular day we visited, they were understaffed and were only offering bar service which was fine with us. We got a few of their beers which were all excellent. The Belgian Waffles truly had an end taste of maple syrup. The lemon shandy is very dry and slightly sour. We got the arancini which were SO good. We also got the truffle fries which were great. We got the Shifty, Forager, and blazin bird pizzas. All of them were really good in their own ways. The Blazin Bird was a popular one at the table.

I ordered my usual flight, but they were out of stickers :( They had some unique beers amongst them one called Belgian Waffles which is a blonde ale with maple syrup and cinnamon. This was dessert or breakfast, depending on your perspective, in a glass. I also got a hazy IPA, a peanut butter stout, and a hefe. All were really good. For lunch I got some honey jerk wings. These were cooked to perfection. Crisp skin and juicy meat. The problem was the flavor. They had the honey but no jerk. There was no spice at all. They were still good, but they could have been great. Anyway, give me stickers and spice and I will give you that 5th star.

We had already eaten but wanted to grab a drink and couldn't pass up trying a bubble tea spot. So as you'd expect this review is solely for just drinks. Service wise we ordered from the little kiosk which worked well and allowed for plenty of customizing of your drink. That was a positive but also could be a quick way to make your price sky high with most additions being an extra dollar. They give you an order number that will be called when your order is ready. As we were waiting a worker did ask if we were waiting and for our order number and then they seemed to put a rush on making it and they apologized for the wait. Which honestly I did not think we had a long wait but appreciated the staff still. Overall the space for waiting is limited but won't hold that in a negative light since it's a food hall. I grabbed a Mango Fruit Tea with mango popping boba added while my wife got their toasted brown sugar milk tea. Both were pretty good but neither blew us away. My wife did not like the syrup in her brown sugar milk tea, had an odd flavor to it. Maybe we should have picked different drinks that would have impressed more. I would return to give some of their food a try in the future and more drinks though. Friendly staff with decent drinks and located in a very convenient location if you are visiting TD Garden.

I spent $21 on their original dog, half cheese & half sausage with ketchup; as well as a large bubble tea. The sausage was my least favorite but with the cheese, it was pretty good. The bubble tea lacked a lot. There wasn't a very good selection. I also asked for no boba pearls, and of course, it had boba pearls. Hub Hall is packed but the wait time was atrocious. It took over 20 minutes to receive my two items. Honestly, I think Currentea is a cute little place not suitable for its location. It seems too small for many staff members and they're very overworked. I appreciate the hustle of the staff but it gets to a point it's unacceptable.

3.5* Came here as I…read morewas walking around downtown. My mom wanted to try this place for its matcha latte. My family actually came here twice within four days. We tried the spectrum of hot matcha latte, iced matcha latte, hot hojicha latte, iced hojicha latte. We actually haven't experimented with asking for less ice or adjusting sweetness. It's not deadly sweet to a point that I can say for sure whether they add sweetener to the drinks. FYI they batch mix their matcha and hojicha solutions which I don't appreciate. Wish they whisked them per order. I think I like their hojicha latte more than matcha given the stronger flavor. It's also a bit sweeter. It bothers me slightly how hojicha latte is the same price as matcha latte given that hojicha is normally cheaper due to lower demand. The price itself is kind of steep at $8.75 whether for matcha or hojicha. You can get matcha latte for $6.50 at Blue Bottle instead or something (weak but matcha itself is alright). Between the two visits I also found the quality to be inconsistent. The second time tasted weaker and the latte art for the hot drinks was messier. I'm not saying latte art is a necessity for me, but if 1) you're charging that much, and 2) you attempt any latte art at all, I would hope for it to look nice. On a good day they deserve a 4*. On a bad day they deserve a 3*. I don't necessarily crave them so will put down 3*. Lines come and go. There's sufficient seating given that most people don't linger 5ever. The stadium seats are kind of cool and offer more spots.
