My dog loves going to Anne's Grooming. He's a big old fluff cloud when he's finished.

Because of my dog's age, they made him a priority also. He was done in an hour. However, he had not been washed, he smelled bad going in and coming out. And the clipping on his coat was uneven and messy. I found that $75 was a rip-off and I left another $25 tip thinking he had been thoroughly groomed. But he hadn't. Sammy, our 3 year old Havanese, is so excited every time we arrive at Anne's! He can hardly wait to get inside the door. The entire staff and Anne are extremely well trained and the salon is very clean and open. Anne grooms Sammy to the species trademark style, while adding our special requests, such as "a bit shorter ears, thin the tail". I have difficulty when I try to brush him at home. His very "curly, fluffy tail" knots and tangles easily. Anne always grooms the body, snout, legs, tail (etc) to perfection. She clips then grinds the nails with a Dremel (we requested that). So no sharp claws. We tried "pet store" grooming to save money but were very disappointed in the cut. The cut was so bad in the pet store that Just two weeks later he didn't look like he had been groomed at all. Obviously done in a hurry and very uneven. Sammy (and we) trust Anne and her staff completely. They know Sammy well and treat him like family. When I pick him up, Sammy acts like he's been to a party (very happy). They've never "bribed" him to behave or calm down. He obviously trusts and likes them too. I was concerned that his tail tangles would be painful for him to groom, but there have been no problems. She told us that she never does anything that will hurt him. Anne really knows what she's doing. Just book well in advance! read more

Our Abby, a 4 months old, 7 lb puppy, had never been groomed before we brought her into Anne's Grooming. (for this reason, I was thinking she'd definitely be a challenge) When I transferred Abby into Anne's arms, off she went, with no problem. This was a bit of a surprise because she can be timid around strangers but obviously felt very comfortable with Anne. An hour later we were called saying Abby was done, and both my husband and I can honestly say Anne's Grooming is the best, most caring grooming salon we've ever been to. Abby looked wonderful! Anne took the time to tell us how Abby's session went and what all she did for her and what I could do at home in between visits. I'm still pretty new in Oro Valley. I've been constantly looking for local businesses to support and was initially happy to see there was a local groomer. First, I tried calling Anne's to ask questions and no one answered. Second, I stopped by to see if they could accommodate a walk in. My dog recently recovered from surgery and I wanted to get him looking fresh again. As soon as I walked in, I see these signs: - We are closing at 1 pm (really? Very inconvenient) - We only accept cash (very inconvenient because I don't carry cash for safety reasons) Next, this older lady, who I assume was Anne walked up. She looked pissed, she did not smile. I still asked her if she could accommodate a walk in customer. She said no and then complained by saying that they've already worked on about 30 dogs. Is that a bad thing, that a local small business has customers? I have almost 30 years of experience in working with customers and I've always subscribed to the idea that the customers put food on my table! Why complain to a potential new customer? She then told me they do not accept walk in customers and people with appointments are expected to drop their dogs off first thing in the morning. So now this business dictates the terms of service to the paying customer? Ridiculous. This lady then shoved me off to one of her employees to see when they could accommodate me. I was disenchanted at this point and they couldn't not get me an appointment for over a week away. Needless to say, I will never ever consider doing business with these people again. I can't recall a recent time that I was made to feel so unwelcomed by a business I was wishing to pay hard earned money for their service or product. If I could give this place a zero in the stars department, I would. read more

I was excited to try Anne's grooming for my pet and I like to patron small businesses when I can but unfortunately I didn't even make it past the phone call. I guess Anne has all the customers she needs because her customer service is lacking. Have been taking my small (11 lb) poodle to Anne's for a little over a year. She has severe skin allergies so I provide the medicated shampoo and instructions. Have enjoyed our experience at Anne's and am very satisfied with each visit. Front desk staff has remained the same which always adds that little extra sense of comfort. They range from super busy too slightly over slow - service is always the same: outstanding. I would recommend Anne's without hesitation. read more

I have taken my dachshund to Anne's grooming many times. They do a nice job and your pet isn't there all day. I find them to be kinda rude and not very personable. Example: as I was checking out ,my dog was barking and one of the groomers rudely said "Be quiet!" I didn't find it necessary. I'll be considering going back. read more

I took our small dog here for a nail clip and gave specific instructions on also smoothing and clipping hair from paw pads. They seemed not to pay attention (thought they might have) and did the work in about 1/3 the time it takes our regular groomer to do it. It looks as if they skipped the smoothing process and did so-so on the clipping. The thing that struck me about this place was the stench of urine when I walked into the place. The front door and back door were propped wide open and it reeked of urine, not the usual pet shampoo that one smells at most groomers. They had a full staff of groomers working making for lots of noise from the dryers. There must have been 40 wire cages stacked 2 or 3 high all around the walls and in the center of the room. I hate those wire cages. When they did my dog's nails they took another dog off the grooming table temporarily and put my dog there, and she sat in a small pile of other dogs' clippings and hair while they did her. Not what I'm used to at my regular groomer. I'm not sure with the stench, the wire cages, and placing a dog on a table that isn't cleaned first is a good idea, so I won't be going back. read more
