Absolutely the best, food and service. They have almost anything you could want and then everything you wouldn't think you would. My hubby who is never brave trying new food had the thrasher shark and was blown away by it! The calm chowder is phenomenal. Our 4 year old had the Mickey Mouse pancake with 2 pieces of bacon, my husband said it's the best bacon EVER and he is a bacon guy. I had the steak fajita salad they had on special, it was awesome and HUGE! We will definitely be back, a person sitting by us had chicken strips and they looked like the best thing on earth so those will be our next order for sure. I came here today and as soon as we walked in the hostess/waitress greeted us and sanitized the menus and walked us to our table. We had zero wait time. The tables are all spread out very nicely. There is a lounge here as well. The menu is a little large but has a good amount of options. They have a little white note on the table that's pretty extensive to make sure guests follow the lock down rules with masks properly. They are open today but starting tomorrow they are on lockdown which means they can only do take out no dining in. I ordered the chicken fried chicken with eggs and hash browns and toast. It was delicious but I think the gravy on top should have been less heavy. The cinnamon roll didn't taste like a lot of cinnamon was in it and that was probably because of the amount of frosting. It tasted like a cream cheese frosting maybe other people will or do like it like that but I wasn't expecting it to have that much on their. The waitress did ask if I wanted it replaced but at that point I'd already eaten most of the roll. The French toast was way to sweet for me to handle personally. I asked my husband to come here one last time hoping the couple previous visits were just flukes. The quality in the food and service has steadily declined over the last two years and this last visit was the proverbial nail in the coffin. Poor mixed drinks, burnt food and a wait time of 40 minutes to even order after being seated. After some more research, Annette actually sold this restaurant and has since departed to a new restaurant in brookes, which can explain the decline in quality and service. Save yourself the cost and disappointment and head to some of the up and coming restaurants locally. read more

Their breakfasts are worth a trip in. My children love their chocolate chip pancakes and their griddles are delicious. My spouse usually gets the French toast. Tonight since we were there after work we ventured into a different portion of the menu. I wish I hadn't. I got the Prawns and Prime. The prawns were sautéed in white wine and unfortunately they did not cook off the wine. The prime rib was cooked perfectly. My spouse ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes. Overall the CFS was cooked appropriately and had good flavor. Probably the biggest hit of the night was their clam chowder - large pieces of bacon with a thick creamy texture and was not overpowering in clam flavor - all the flavors married well together and none stole the show. If we all would have ordered or usual breakfast fare, they would have earned their 5th star. read more

Soft, airy biscuits really make my husband happy and Annette's delivered. He tells me the bacon was "no bulls*it" aka thick slices, not too fatty. The vegetarian skillet was filling but a little cheese-heavy for my taste (needed more broccoli and a little less potatoes). It wasn't served in a skillet either - but let's be real this is a neighborhood breakfast joint and I would definitely order again! Service was friendly and attentive. For $15.99 you get 3 eggs, toast or muffin, thick bacon, delicious sausage, ham steak, a giant pancake, hashbrowns or country taters, and a full serving of biscuits and gravy. For all you families with kids that don't eat much, this is the perfect breakfast to share. My wife, 5 year old, 1 year old, and I can't even finish this when we split it. Tried Annette's again after a long time and I was pleasantly surprised! I've made several attempts to come back but there's always a long wait. I got the seafood Benedict, and the hollandaise on it was the most yummy I've had in awhile. Service was wonderful and my Tito's Bloody Mary was gone super quick! I will say that I think they need to re-arrange the tables and seating a little bit, our table was right next to the salad bar and kind of awkward, with a pillar across from me and the other seat to the right. The food was good. The staff was a little lacking but they were, like all other businesses right now lacking staff so the ones who were there were over worked. I had clam chowder that tasted like it was not fresh just warmed up. My husband had a bacon cheeseburger. The burger was way over cooked as was the bacon. On a brighter note I had a grilled cheese with bacon and it was spectacular. So we will be back just not for a burger. read more

(First time experience) Being from the south there are a few things I miss, SWEET TEA & a BIG plate of well done hash browns. We came in for dinner and had the fried chicken with JOJO's, and a Haystack breakfast. The chicken was very tender and awesome breading, huge potato wedges. The hash browns were phenomenal with some jalapeños added in. The portion sizes were VERY generous. Lots of different choices on the menu (not reduced menu due to COVID). Staff was following safety guidelines. Maddie served us and was kind enough to make me up a glass of REAL sweet tea(bonus points). Dining area was spacious, no booths. Entrance does not face the parking lot, but is still handicapped accessible, (flat). Overall Great dining experience and we'll definitely be back. Still need to try the prime rib special. read more

Each time we tried something new and everything was delicious! The portions are huge and prices are very reasonable. Servers and other employees there are always on top of it and very friendly. I went here about a week ago. I was very disappointed with the experience. The owner was there and serving which I thought was weird. He was very rude to his employees and would scold them in front of customers. A man brought us out our order and was dripping in sweat. When he reached across the table sweat dripped onto my friends plate of food. So we asked for a new order. He rolled his eyes and it took forever for the order to come out. I asked another server who he was and they said he was the owner, Brian. Then after all that, the food was cold and did not taste good. We only ate a few bites and left to go somewhere else. We asked for a discount for the bad service and food, and we still had to pay full price! The next morning and that night I threw up and my stomach was in a lot of pain, so I don't think the food was good. Needless to say we won't be back. Now I know things are different and more difficult with COVID going on and I try to be as nice and understanding as I can. But this experience was awful and we felt more like a nuisance then a guest. read more

Food was bland, overdone, and over priced. Atmosphere was lacking. The chocolate cake tasted like a boxed cake and the ganache tasted like cardboard. The spicy tequila tasted like dirt and vegetables. The only reason it's not a one star is the spinach artichoke dip. All the food took a while. The steak taco salad looked amazing and hubby said not only was it delicious but the best he's had. I had the well-appointed salad bar with garlic toast which was not soggy with oil. Updating my review...went to Annette's last friday to give them one more chance. Twice before this we were sadly disappointed in the food and the situation we had found ourselves in. This time, it was back to it's good old self! I had the chicken fried steak dinner and my wife had the taco salad. My steak was tender enough to cut with my fork. The flavor was excellent. The cup of chowder I had prior to my steak was thick and hearty. Very good. My wife loved the taco salad...not too spicy but still flavorful, perfect size, and the fried bowl was great. I wish I could give a better review. We've gone religiously for years. But recently the service and the food have gotten worse. Last time we were there we sat for an hour (when there was no crowd and open tables) to be seated. Then another hour and 15 minutes for our burned food to arrive. We had a group of 8 and split the bill in 1/2, Annette's was kind enough to charge both bills an 18% gratuity. So here's 36% tip for poor service and poor food. The food is tasty and I have fond memories here (my brother's wedding rehearsal dinner was here in December 2014), but I had an experience a week ago that makes me not want to go back. My grandmother often gives us a gift certificate to the Pentacle for Christmas, which we have loved, and last year (um...or maybe the year before?) gave us a gift card to Annette's for $100, presumably so we could use it a few times. We finally got around to using it a week ago (8/12/17). It was shaping up to be a great experience--the hostess was someone I'd worked with 8 or 9 years ago (super nice lady, was good to see her), the server was friendly, the food was good. It came time to pay for our meal and my husband put the gift card into the folder. The waitress came back to tell us the gift card wasn't working--obviously not her fault. She appropriately asked others for help in the matter. In the course of things we were told by 2 different people that they've had batches of "bad" gift cards that hadn't worked in the last little while, and they would try to fix the situation. They did reassure us that their gift cards don't ever expire. Well, turns out they couldn't get it to work, so we were on the hook for the meal. It's not like we couldn't pay our mortgage or something because of it, but the bill was definitely more than we usually spend on a meal--because this was supposed to be a gift, right?? And my grandmother is well off enough to give this kind of gift--and totally a stand up lady. She'll be 95 on her next birthday, she's not out to scam anyone. On one hand, I understand that it's a little unfair to ask them to take us at our word. On the other hand, I do think that a good compromise would have been "ok, your gift card doesn't work and you aren't going to get the full amount from it, but we will comp your meal." The piece that led me to write this review is that the manager told my husband he would look through old receipts to see if he could find anything--and would give my husband a call back early in the week. It has now been a full week and we have heard NOTHING. This was kind of an embarrassing experience for us, even though it was in no way our fault. I won't be back. Which is a huge bummer because I've heard their breakfast is awesome and I love a good breakfast. read more

Very discouraged, last night friends ordered me a meal to go while they ate dinner there, seafood pasta was ordered, specifically NO MUSHROOMS highly allergic. They bring my meal home, spilled over into bag, they open it instant eyes burn nose runs, a reaction started, I told them there's mushrooms, we told them no mushrooms friends said, look at the black and off white object as I back off head to sink, they pull out a long mushroom, wash my hands it was enough that I had to use an epi pen. When someone says they are allergic to something food wise listen to them. It's 400.00 for my epi pen prescription my insurance doesn't cover them. Hate to see someone truly loose a life for ones negligence taking an order. Still suffering from it hours later. You paid the friends back for the meal. They aren't the ones whom had the serious reaction. Have yet to hear anything from the owners on this matter, felt maybe I would at least be contacted. I've owned my own food cart business, one of my girls didn't listen and flaked off. I darn sure was on the phone the next day making things right. I too answer to the State Health Dept. read more
