Overall, really good. Amazing service, will definitely come back. Super mellow and welcoming. If you're looking for a dinner with friends or anyone this is the place.

Recently, I dined @wwallacebar, and the food, service, and overall experience were fantastic. Located in a turn~of~the~century building in downtown historic Salem, the owners have done a wonderful job with their craft drinks and delicious menu. The ambiance reminded me of walking back thru time. We chose to eat outside and enjoy the warm summer night. We had fried Cod fish tacos served with picked onions and a sriracha sauce. We also had the roasted Brussel sprouts mixed with sweet potato and brie cheese.

Been a minute since I reviewed this place, but it's still killing it! Drinks are creative, booze selection is well-curated, food is solid, simple and fresh! Quaint, relaxing wood-grained atmosphere is perfect for a date or dinner with an old friend, or if you just want to enjoy an expensive single malt.

The tastiest drinks I've had, maybe ever. W Wallace is a quiet, comfortable place, perfect for a date night, easy to hear each other in conversation. Nice atmosphere, super nice people. The pear martini is absolutely delicious. My other favorite is the Der Wurdevolle Hirsch, which tastes like a gummy bear with ginger. The food is good too, there to complement the drinks. Truffle fries and bruschetta are my favorites.

This is my favorite drink in Salem, OR! The Rasberry Cobbler.

I love the drinks at W Wallace especially the pear one! Friendly bar tender and an old school bar feeling ambiance!

Our second time in the last few weeks to visit W. Wallace. We like the vibe and intimate atmosphere of this local pub. Service is always great and they have an awesome drink menu. The chef turns out some very tasty meals as well. Last time I had the street tacos along with chips and salsa (both excellent) this visit we went with the Rodeo Burger. This is a nice take on your standard burger, very tasty and filling. My wife also had one of the current specialty drinks which she really enjoyed. I ordered a Moscow Mule, and an Espresso Martini, both were well prepared. All in all a very good experience.

Bartender service was on point and exactly what I expected. I ordered an old fashioned and it was BUSSIN! Here's a pic....

My coworkers and I had stopped by for the Taco Crawl on Wednesday. The layout of the restaurant is very interesting because there are so many small details. They had a phone booth inside, bar with stools, and booth tables. The server gave us samples of the drinks. We each ordered different tacos and enjoyed them. The server would come and ensure we had received everything we wanted. The food was served in a timely manner. We had decided to do a team event here next time because we all were satisfied with the service and food.

This is a wonderful downtown neighborhood bar/restaurant with a grown-up vibe. Elegant without being fussy. We had the steak street tacos which were 100% on-point delicious. Very innovative cocktail menu and good service. On another visit we sat at the bar, had crème brûlée and another interesting cocktail. The bartender is super energetic and friendly. Great jazz music playing. Just a very fine ambience with good food and creative drinks. They do have a little outdoor dining area which unfortunately, same problem on a Friday night, that awful street musician stands at the corner of State Street and Liberty with an electric guitar and an amp and pretty much ruins outside dining for that entire intersection within earshot. Otherwise, we really enjoy this establishment and everything about it

Great service and really good drinks! Their outdoor seating is super nice and kept us the warmest out of all the outside seating spots so far! Our waiter was super into his cocktails and really wanted us to enjoy them. And they were great! We only stopped by for drinks, but next time we'll try the appetizers too! I only wonder if they do happy hour? We had an awesome time! Update: came back again and got great service and great food!

Dropped off our daughter and had an a hour and a half just with my wife. Sat outside, one of the positives of dining in Salem downtown for the last month of the 'rona. Had their house made limoncello which my wife loved (straight with a soda back). Liked it so much she had a second!! It's not for everyone, but she discovered her love of it in Italy 2 years ago. I had a gin cocktail and a pint of Stella Artois. We weren't going to eat, but ended up with fries, a salad, and jackfruit tacos. I think our vegan daughter can eat here. Not doing the salad again but there is enough on the menu to have dinner here.

    Filthy Martini. Delicious!

The bar manager, Vierra, made the best cocktail menu I have ever seen! She was so welcoming and we had the best time! She explained her inspiration behind every drink we ordered. True artist!! Love this place and the ambience!!

You order at the counter and then you get a number to take with you and place at whichever seat you choose. Drinks and food both came out really quick. I tried the bees knees which had honey, lavender, rosemary and simple syrup with a dash of black pepper. I did not see nor taste the black pepper but I was a huge fan of this drink. It wasn't overpowering in any of the flavors and the rosemary sprig made it look so cute. I got the breakfast potato hash with no tomatoes and it was a delicious and filling breakfast. The potatoes were so good my group wouldn't stop helping themselves to them. I added some hot sauce as it was in the dryer side but still really good. I also tried the matcha coconut scone. It had a pretty matcha green color but it was hard to taste the matcha or coconut and it was quite dry. Service was quick and friendly. The inside is really beautiful and we couldn't help but do a little photoshoot, so many fun backgrounds! Things to note: Restroom shared with other businesses close by businesses and metered street parking only.

We reserved on Tock, and it was mostly full on a Friday night. Drinks: lots of local beers are available, but I went with the Pineapple Express: she warned it was spicy, and it indeed was (in a really good way). All of the food is done family style: - Clams Galicia: with tomato, chorizo, bacon broth. This broth as amazing. I literally drank it with a spoon - Pan con tomate: slightly different from classic preparation - more flavorful and heavier on the toppings - Salmorejo: tomato and bread puree, Serrano, jammy egg - like a creamy gazpacho - Grilled asparagus: with whipped ricotta and a cured egg yolk - Squid ink pasta: with hazelnuts, caramelized onions, peppers, and a runny egg yolk, a bit spicy. Music was excellent; audible but not intrusive. Comfy chairs. Lower lighting, well placed. Service was excellent, friendly and fast. I think our server's name was Mikayla; a gem. Attentive and observant but never intrusive. Drinks: my old fashioned was absolutely perfect and my husband's margarita was fine. Appetizers: beer cheese was well balanced and a bit runny, which I prefer over the library paste version some places serve. The elotes dip was a standout, mildly spicy, with lime in the cilantro, and warm, crispy chips. (Whatever is in their seasoning for chips and fries should be sold separately -- I wanted to try it on everything.) We probably should have stopped there, as the portions were abundant, but our mains were amazing. Smash burger was insanely juicy, nice and onion-y with a few Crunchy Brown Bits around the edges. The roll was fresh and tender, with a good crust; flavorful, not just a shingle. The fries were the best I've had in Salem. Get the garlic-thyme upgrade; you won't regret it. My ribeye was cooked perfectly. Unfortunately they were out of both compound butters, apparently due to a busy Friday, but everything was well seasoned. The vegetable of the day was roasted Brussels sprouts with a sweet-and-salty sauce, almost like kettle corn; amazing. The outer leaves were caramelized without being burned, and the hearts were tender but not mushy. Crispy fried onions were perfect.
