    The menu pt 1

Continue to come here, as I live in town. They have an outdoor, heated seating area that is open year round, although I don't go out there myself. Just not my preference. The food is really good, almost all handmade (such as the fresh bread option.). They have a new specials board and try new things out, which are usually variations of the menu, so it's nothing too jarring. For example, I tried a breakfast bowl that had German sausage instead of sausage. No big change but still a nice addition. Seating area has been changed a bit to take out more booths and make them tables, but there are a few booths. Service is fast and friendly, and everyone is usually on top of what's going on. Kitchen is in plain view, so nothing being hidden in how they cook or what their process is. This is a great institution in Dallas, locally owned, and the owner cares about how her business serves people. One time my order got missed somehow, and not only was my server upset about it, but the owner came and told me she'd comp me that breakfast and my next one. And she did, even though I didn't remind her the next time. Seriously great place. Check it out if you're in town. The only reason it isn't franchised with lines out the door all the time is that there isn't a lot of reason to come to Dallas, Oregon. So consider it a hidden gem. :)

Heard but never been here until today! Pumpkin Pancakes with pumpkin butter and whip cream was wonderful! Loved the gravy also!! YUM! I was under whelmed with the chicken fried steak and the biscuit wasn't the consistency I prefer. Service was great!!! Come try Tater's if your interested the neighborhood!

Cute breakfast shop. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Service was solid, food was great and huge portions.

The cafe is adorable with its quirky little details. Service was impeccable! Made an accommodation for the pork protein on the special and no additional charge. The food was delicious! I ordered the Special waffle it was fluffy and moist. The apple compote was lightly sweet. The sub was a chicken breast grilled perfectly, The other order at our table was the Pork chop breakfast. Gravy was delicious. Pork chops tasty and tender... eggs great. But they have the usual suspects for toast or Homemade bread toasted! It was fresh and had a great texture.

Vern and I tried a cute new place in Dallas, OR after his CT at West Valley Hospital. The food was amazing, the service was speedy, and the locals were there in force! I highly recommend the strawberry French toast combo!

Quaint little place, definitely a hole in the wall. I almost got lost looking for the main entrance. The parking is right off of Jefferson St. The servers there was kind and got me seated quickly. The kept my coffee topped off, and the older server lady took my order. The only reason I knocked off a star was because of how long the food took. It was about 45 minutes before I received my order and it wasn't hot; it felt like it sat out for a while. Besides that the food was delicious and cooked correctly to my specifications. It was a great Saturday morning breakfast!

Super disappointed. We are new to the Dallas area and decided to try take out from Taters for Lunch because some of the locals seem to rave about it. We called ahead and ordered off the menu. Here is what we ordered and how we felt about it: Breakfast #2 with sausage and over easy eggs - husband says everything was great, the portion size was a little small, but otherwise great. Classic Burger with fries - was good, no complaints. Fries are a little soft, but that is probably just because it was to go. 3 pancakes - not so great. The first pancake was perfect, a golden brown and wonderful. The other two underneath it were burnt and inedible. They had a very distinct burnt flavor. Cheese Blintzes - these were fried in a deep fryer, but it's like they were left on one side too long. The one side was burnt and had a bitter flavor, but the other side was soft and gooey, and underdone. I did call and let them know. The gentleman that answered the phone did tell me that if we brought it all back they would remake it. But honestly, I just didn't have time for that. It took about a half hour to get it to begin with, and we don't live super close to Taters and are on our lunch break, so my time is limited. My kids are around the burnt parts of the pancakes and we just threw away the cheese blintzes. I'm also not sure that the prices on the menu on here are current or up to date - there was about a $6 difference in the total from this menu and what we were charged. But it may just be old pictures. Was not a great experience :(

    Pancakes!! Fluffiest I've ever seen!!

Good food and very good service. Servings were larger than many other places for the price. I especially enjoyed the corned beef benedict

The interior is very cute - there was a red checkered tablecloth on our table. Our waitress was super nice and friendly. When we ordered the espresso martini and mentioned we only wanted one to share, she came back with it split into two mini glasses! We've never had that happen before. The french toast was really good, esp. with the lemon curd. I was scraping every last bit of it into my mouth. I'd love to try other menu items next time!

We had a 10:45 reservation but ended up waiting outside on the sidewalk for over 40 minutes. We got a couple of "it'll be soon" updates and one offer to sit at a picnic table on the sidewalk. That wasn't an option for my husband's back. And, by that point, it felt like we'd already had the full sidewalk experience! To add to the frustration, we watched a table that would have fit our party turn over and be given to a group that had arrived well after us. Once seated, things didn't improve much. Our daughter has celiac disease, and after talking through options with our server, she ordered a modified breakfast plate. When it arrived, it had two slices of (gluten-full) toast placed right in the middle. We asked for a remake. While we were waiting someone came over to tell us (firmly) that the kitchen isn't dedicated gluten-free. We fully get that, but that's different from putting bread on top of everything on the plate, especially after we'd already discussed the restriction. As I was saying that, the staff member walked away. The interaction felt more like a lecture than the apology that would've been appropriate. The food overall was okay, but not memorable. My husband said the "special" Bloody Mary was the worst he's ever had--memorable, just not in a good way. On the positive side, the gluten-free coffee cake was excellent, and thankfully the company made the day worthwhile. My guess is there may have been an issue with our reservation. We made it in person previously and it was written in a notebook. When we called to confirm the day before, they initially couldn't find it. It felt like it might not have made it into the system, and they were trying to accommodate on the fly once they realized it. If that's the case, a little transparency upfront would have gone a long way--we would have appreciated the option to adjust our plans rather than end up waiting outside for so long. Overall, this felt like a series of misses and mishandled opportunities to improve the experience. It's also an excellent reminder of why I normally steer clear of dining out on holidays.

House made of course so it's even better than the store bought stuff in my opinion because it tastes like actual chocolate. I ordered the filet minion chicken fried steak and it was cooked to perfection. So juicy inside and crispy but not like overly cooked crispy on the outside! Topped with a hot gooey layer of house made sausage gravy. The overall size of this steak was about as big as my face. To complement this enormous steak was eggs, a biscuit & some smashed Yukon potatoes..like they were literally small potatoes they just smashed which was really different to me because I've never seen that before. I also had to order the infamous cinnamon roll pancake I been seeing floating around on other people's reviews. IT IS A MUST.. and if you are ordering it to take home make sure you have a piece of it while it's still hot and fresh because that was to die for. I won't go more into detail about it you just have to try it. It will speak for its self. Overall the dinning experience was great! Servers were more than happy to get you whatever you need. We sat at the bar so y'all should try their drinks because they looked so good and the bartenders looked like they were having fun making them. The restaurant is a literal house and while charming it is small and packed inside and the parking lot is also really small so you may need to get there early or expect to park somewhere else in the streets. We got there an hour after they opened and it was only a 30 minute wait thankfully. Will be coming back again to try other menu items!

I also had warm rye bread. Not toasted. We were half done with our breakfast, and was given the bill, and boxes to go. Very rushed, crowded, and expensive. $58 for sub-par breakfast for 2. The restaurant has a cozy, homey feel, and the staff took the experience to another level. When we sat down, they asked if we wanted to look at the menu or simply leave it up to the chef and go with the "Francisco Special." Without even glancing at the menu, we decided to trust them... and we were so glad we did. It ended up being one of our favorite dining experiences. Every one of the five courses was spectacular. They also asked about any dietary restrictions before the meal began. We didn't have any, but after chatting with the chef, we learned that he has spent time eating plant-based and experimenting extensively with plant-based alternatives. Based on that conversation, I imagine they would be more than capable of accommodating dietary restrictions. One of my favorite parts of the evening was that each dish came with a brief explanation, either the story behind the dish or details about the ingredients and preparation. We grabbed a patio table instead of waiting inside and really enjoyed the atmosphere, though the QR code ordering system made things a little tough when trying to grab extra coffee, water, or ask questions without a server around. The Birdy Mary was solid but landed around a 6/10 for me, missing some of the spice and depth I personally like in a great Bloody Mary, but the hot drip coffee absolutely hit the spot. The food, though, was outstanding. My wife and I split the BLT with crispy bacon and avocado spread, paired with potatoes that were somehow crispy, soft, and packed with flavor all at the same time. Our daughter and son-in-law ordered the "I'm the Good Kind of Fat" special with house-smoked salmon, poached egg, arugula, and avocado on sourdough, and every bite looked better than the last. Odd Bird feels like one of those spots that fits Corvallis perfectly: relaxed, local, busy in the best way, and serving food that makes you want to come back next weekend. #CorvallisEats #BrunchGoals #OddBirdCafe #FarmersMarketMorning #OregonEats #FoodieFind
