The ice cream is not very good. It didn't melt after sitting for 10 minutes but turned to a bubbly foam, meaning it's made from corn syrup and water instead of real cream which explained everyone's stomach aches after. The cookie dough chunks tasted like plastic read more

My husband and I went last Friday evening for an ice cream cone. The ice cream was too soft and fell off the cone into my lap. My husband tried to open my door so I could dump it out of the vehicle and the top of his fell off right in between the seat of the truck. The carhop was there when it happened and brought us a handful of napkins which was in no way enough to clean up the mess. she then asked if we wanted it a dish and after all this mess we chose to get our money back. He went into the building and told them what happened and they shouldn't be serving the ice cream because it was too way too soft. He asked for the manager and told him and he said what do you want me to do? All of them had a grin on their face like they thought it was funny, which it most certainly wasn't. As we were leaving a girl carhop walked by with a big smile on her face. I emailed Annie's about the situation with no response after a week I'm posting this review. I must have driven past this place countless times but finally made it there tonight. Very glad we stopped out. The burger was bit on the small side but more than satisfied in the flavor department. Great hot dogs, as well. Soft serve banana shake hit the spot and they had the courtesy of really enhancing the syrup-to-ice ratio in my son's slushy. Most of the time. They just get careless with their chili dogs! The last 3 times chili was dried out, overcooked and not pleasant. No chili flavor at all. Used to be very good. Bun and hotdog excellent but I couldn't eat the chili.What a shame! Fries were good. read more

Annie's Burger Town has a lot of charm and is at a great location in Elkhorn. The menu is diverse, and the items we have always eaten have all been delicious. A few days ago my son wanted the Italian Beef, and after trying a bit I ate half his sandwich which he wasn't happy about but it was really good! The burgers are as expected excellent! The only downsides are the outside area isn't terribly clean and the restrooms unusable. When my 8 year old "had to go" and it couldn't wait, we found the restroom in the back but with so many flys (and looking filthy) he was scared to use it. But he had to go, so I stood guard and we left the door open and he got the job done. If you don't mind eating in your car (which we do) or having flys (and bees!) attacking your food (which we also do) you will enjoy a great meal. But this place may be best enjoyed taking the food to go because most items are delicious. read more

tl:dr Everything you'd expect a small town drive-in to be. Good food, good prices, good service. Nothing to rave about, but no complaints. First, I feel like I made a horrible mistake with my order. Here I am at burger town and what do I order? A Chicago dog. Perhaps it was not understanding what a "Charcoburger" was (I later found out that it is a charcoal grilled burger... WHY DIDN'T I ORDER THAT?!). The dog was good, but it was served with everyday relish, not the classic neon green. The onion rings were nice and crunchy, and had a little seasoning to the batter. My strawberry malt was made with strawberry syrup, not actual strawberries. The carhop was very attentive, and checked in on us a couple times more than I expected. If I'm back in the area, I'll definitely be stopping back to try one of their burgers. read more

Definitely worth a stop if you're visiting for the local flea market! Food was good, my friends all commented on how good their fries are? Its not often I hear fries complimented. We all ordered burgers, and I love you can upgrade to a meal for 2.25 - for fries AND coleslaw. Two meals and a large sundae came to around $17? Service was great as well, quick and friendly. Our carhop happily answered all our ice cream related questions, as they have a good variety from homemade drumstick sundaes to strawberry shortcake. The only downside was their bathroom was not the best (the men's, that is, as the women's was closed), and their homemade rootbeer was a little off. Maybe it was just to our group's taste. Still a great place to eat, very charming w/a surprising full menu. Including mini tacos? Not sure how authentic those are (; And they take credit cards! (Sometimes these old timey places don't.) Burger Town what a great place. The Ambiance is that out of a diner or driving from the 1950s. License plates all over the wall classic car models on the inside great little Drive in ambiance. I ordered the double cheeseburger with everything on it. The burger was delicious on a charcoal grill. With all the fixin's the pickles in the relish where the stars along with the ketchup and mustard. A great bun held a great sesame seed bun held everything together nicely. French fries were great, crispy and delicious and the coleslaw was good could have used a little bit of pepper but that was simply added with a little packet. Homemade root beer! Very good! Reminds me of dog & Suds. The service was excellent. quick and enjoyable. With Welcome to the Jungle playing in the background in the Kooks playing air guitar the young lady at the front counter was very nice and a pretty face. Throughout the year is this place is changed hands. Same structure, different ownership, and different themes. The burgers are burgers, old-fashioned Drive in food venue. It reminds me of the old "Dog 'n Suds." Summer is the best time to come here, but they are open in the winter. I particularly like the carhop service. read more

So apparently if you plug "Burgers" and "Elkhorn, WI" into Yelp Annie's Burger Town is the first thing that pops up. This is what my work partner and I did a few weeks ago. Annie's Burger Town makes it sound awesome. Like there should be multiple buildings and a Main Street and a Sheriff and stuff. Annie's Burger Town has a shack, a roof, and two picnic tables outside. It's like Annie's Burger Village. Or Burger Hamlet, or something. But it's pretty delish. I really can't speak for everything, but I tried the Pizza burger, the fries, and home-made root-beer. The pizza burger isn't great. It's your standard grocery store pizza burger w/ a side of marinara sauce and nothing else. I've had 'em a billion times before. It's nothing special. My partner had the Texas Burger which looked phenomenal. He claims it was excellent. The fries were good. The root-beer was weird, but okay. I would go here again if only because there are like two restaurants in Elkhorn and the other one sucks. But you should try it. It's really not bad and it's absolutely positively the only Annie's Burger Town in the world. read more

Burgertown is one of the many stops on the long road to Crazytown. Annie's serves up great burgers (including the oft-sought pizza burger), fries, mozzarella sticks, shakes, sundaes and more. I have many great memories here from my youth in Elkhorn - from walking over here with the old middle school gang in the summer time to sundaes after soccer practice... to getting Annie's, hungover beyond the realm of recognition, on the day of my mother's wedding, much to her dismay. But I truly needed some chili cheese fries if I was going to make it through the day without fainting or ralphing. If you're crusing the Elkhorn strip, or anywhere in the area, you have to try Annie's. And keep in mind that sometimes Burgertown is on the way home from Crazytown. read more

The memories of this place go all the way back to high school when play directors would bring in heaping loads of food and my favorite, blue ice slushies. Recently, the owners decided to keep the place open all year. From the looks of it, business always seems to be doing well, despite the weather. They also added a delivery truck that hauls food all over Elkhorn. The menu has expanded and includes everything from fried chicken, to fired mushrooms to vegetarian wraps and delicious cole slaw and fantastic fries. Was out and about on a ride and didn't feel like "normal" fast food so I gave this a shot. Good decision... It's nothing pretty to look at from the outside and not much different on the inside, but it sure did hit the spot on a hot, sunny day.
