I ordered the Delbrook skillet. It had nice size chunks of fried potatoes with peppers and sausage topped with eggs. The toast was larger prices than other places I've visited recently! OKay, this is good place for food but was so disappointed because we can the Tuesdays for their Prime Rib Special. We were told that it was not busy compared to their Saturday specials. BUT we were misinformed. Again, it is a good diner but if you want PRIME RIB on Tuesday, be sure to show up at 3:00 pm or else they sell out. If I knew that this was going to happen, we would gone somewhere else instead. Oh well, you win some and you loose some. read more

Looking for a Friday Fish Fry in Delevan. I asked around some locals and they told me the BEST fish fry was at Greenie's. They weren't wrong. I had checked menus at a few other spots - Greenie's was definitely more bang for your buck. I had fried cod and my wife had baked cod. Both were excellent, hot and fresh. We had leftovers to take back t our hotel. Lori was a fantastic waitress and the support staff were quick to help with anything needed. The side offerings were wide ranging: Baked potato, fries, tots, onion rings, potato pancakes w/apple sauce was my choice and very flavorful. I would definitely recommend this place and will be back in the future. P.S. This place is both Gray-hair approved as well as families with small kids. read more

Been here one time that's all it took. Not that great if food, not very good service. It's a local hangout for a beer and mediocre food.

This has been one of my favorite places for several years, but so much has changed - and not for the better. I meet weekly with a group of men for breakfast, and during the season, they are open. This has been our go-to place because of the good, reasonably-priced food and friendly, efficient service. However, over our past three weekly visits, the food this year has taken 40 then 50 minutes, and today, we waited for an hour after ordering before our food arrived. The quality has dropped off appreciably. My skillet meal was barely above having just come out of the fridge--seriously. It's not that it wasn't hot; it was stone cold once you got below the freshly cooked eggs--and again, that was after waiting an hour. They are severely understaffed, with only one waitress and one cook, which has made our group reconsider our visits until the situation improves. It's quite sad to see an institution that enjoyed a good reputation go downhill so fast. read more

For several years , my husband and I took his father to lunch at Greenies, at least twice a week. He lived in an assisted living facility nearby. He used to be an avid golfer, and enjoyed watching the golfers as he had lunch.His order was always the same, a blueberry pancake and a gin martini. The servers were always a delight. When we walked through the door, they used to hold up the gin bottle with a question mark ! My husband would nod yes, and they would have his martini on the table even as we sat down. I don't like leaving bad reviews to a place I enjoyed going to, food is good golf is great. I ordered a round of drinks and signed using my debit card. I left a cash tip. When I checked my bank statement I seen there was a five dollar tip written by someone other than me. I called to inform the manager of this and she was busy and promised to call me back and never did. I know this is only five dollars but still I consider it stealing I hope this was just a mistake and not a regular occurrence. That is why I wish I would've got a call back to verify what happened so it doesn't happen again. read more

Went last Friday on the recommendation of friends....which turned out to be a good one! First off...it was a little hard to find...is actually part of the Delbrook golf course with minimal signage...just drive into the course and head for the parking lot...look for the door with the BACKWARDS signage...there you are! Once you get inside you can read it clearly... Beer selection is a little weak...but they do have Spotted Cow in a bottle. We had the traditional WI Friday night fish fry...but with a twist...we both had the house special perch fry...was very good. Interesting twist...Sarah had sweet potatoes with hers...and lots of veggies...nicely prepared broccoli. In short ... We will be back but probably not on a night when we have a beer geek along! read more

This is such "Delevan" restaurant. Kind of a local feel, with friendly staff and good solid food. Awesome breakfast with amazing eggs Benedict! Great prices, nice view of the golf course. We went for dinner and we were a bit disappointed. Mom had the broiled fish fry , and thought it lacked a bit of flavor. Maybe the fried is much better as a lot of people had ordered it. I had the special brisket sandwich and thought it was a bit too much bread vs meat. We will give dinner another shot, but the breakfast is a 10. We have never been disappointed!!! read more

I've been eating at Greenie's forever. George (Greenie) is here cooking 99.9% of the time and he takes pride in every plate that leaves the kitchen. This is not the Ritz Carlton - it's a restaurant in the clubhouse of Delbrook Golf Course - a 27 hole public course owned by the City of Delavan - George leases the restaurant space from the city. Breakfasts here are consistently excellent - great potatoes - meat done the way you want the first time, etc. The daily lunch specials are always a good deal. I have my own club sandwich he makes and it's a real meal. French fries are really good here - not a single lousy fry in an order here. My wife and I don't typically come here for dinner but we have gone here for many private dinner functions - Rotary holiday parties and weddings to name a few. Steaks and shrimp are outstanding and the accompanying salads are also great. I've also had George prepare roasts for private parties so if you have a gathering at your house and don't want to do all the work or risk a bad meal - call George. One warning - Greenie's closes for a few months in the winter so call ahead during December - February to see if they're open. read more

Though, next time I would pass on the clam chowder and order the salad--the chowder is too similar to canned soup for my taste. The fish plate consists of a potato of your choice, bread roll, coleslaw, and either tartar sauce (for fried fish) or lemon butter (for baked fish). The ambiance is like a standard home-town diner, which was a little surprising for a clubhouse. It's a small narrow room, white walls, tables close to each other, and standard furniture. The restaurant has a view of the golf greens if you're there when the sun is still up. The service was friendly and the food came out promptly. If you come near the end of the night they tend to run out of options, especially potato pancakes. To sum it up, I'd say Greenie's is a good value. read more

We were here for a quiet breakfast after a night in Geneva and what a cute little place to stop for a bite! The setting is very casual and a wide variety of items are offered. There are plenty of specials on the board and I am pretty sure this is the kind of place that will make whatever you come up with if they have the ingredients. There definitely is a regular crowd that comes in here. I was surprised at how busy it was here on a Sunday morning. We did breakfast and I had the eggs Benedict. They were awesome. The prices are just where they are supposed to be here and even offer a selection of bottled soda and beers. I understand that in the summer they do fish frys and barbeques as well which I hear are excellent. This place is great and I am glad we made the stop! My wife and I stopped here after golf. What a surprise! We had the special of the day - tacos. I was expecting a ground beef plain taco. But they were incredible! Short rib tacos with kimchi slaw. We have been to fancy taco places, and these were just as good, if not better. And they served three huge tacos. Neither of us could finish them (although they were still delicious as leftovers). A bit hard to find, as you have to drive into the golf course and then walk around the back of the building, but the view of the course is nice once you are seated. The décor is nothing special, but the food is excellent and the servers are nice. I had a burger with goat cheese and pesto, served on a pretzel roll. Delish! This is a great little place that is only open in warmer climates since it's on a golf course (hence the name). We came here for their fish fry and was not disappointed. The prices are very reasonable and they give you more than enough food. They have fairly thick, home made potato pancakes. These are always my favorite side item, and theirs were delicious! I would definitely recommend this place as an authentic Wisconsin fish fry. The only reason I gave them three stars is because it's really just good comfort food. read more

Got some takeout the other day here and it was really good! Delicious nachos that addicted my boyfriend and I that were as good as any Mexican restaurant. This review is for Greenie's Friday Night Fish Fry. For my taste it is the best fish in the area. They do a great job with both the fried and broiled. The fish is on the lighter side and I'm not over stuffed from the meal. It is not an all-you-can eat fish fry but the 5 piece meal is a ton of fish. I get half fried and half broiled every time I go. You also get a bowl of soup, coleslaw, and bread with the meal and all for around $10. I usually just pickup my food because its easy, but if you want to eat at the restaurant you can usually get seated pretty quickly. It's pretty tight seating. read more

This place is located at the Delbrook Golf Course. To walk in you immediately go back to the 60's. Nothing fancy as it seems to have been here forever but it was not run down. It is a real sleeper in terms of what we expected for food. It was really good! We ended up eating breakfast and lunch here as we came to golf. The full breakfast is amazing and the breakfast sandwiches were very good as well. The portions are large. For lunch 3 of us had a special of grilled tenderloin philly's. They were excellent. These were large as well. They come with chips but I had mine with fries which were also good. One of the guys had a salad. These come in small, medium and large. He ordered the medium which was huge! All of the food was quality and the service very good. I noticed that there are many specials and onsite made BBQ on weekends. There were also a large amount of phone orders going out the door. The bartender told us the place does a good business year round even when the course is not open as most of the folks who come here do not golf. It was evident as there were only a few of us golfing this day but the restaurant was very busy. We will be back for sure. read more

I went to Greenies on a Friday night for some fish with family & friends. Our waitress took a very long time to get our table and spent a majority of her time next to the POS system talking amongst other servers. When we got our salads/soup my mom got mayo instead of the blue cheese dressing she asked for along with wrong drinks delivered to our table. This restaurant is the best in Delavan. The aesthetics would be reminiscent of a diner but, the quality of the food would equal that of a high end Supper Club. Some times the energy level is high with the golfers but the good food makes it quieter. Friday night fish fry may be standing outside to wait for a table, but well worth it. Breakfast, lunch, dinner all three are top of the line with plentiful servings at a reasonable price and a very pleasant and professional staff. Great lunchtime specials.
