We came here after my procedure on Friday, February 17th at United Surgery Center in Murrieta. I was starving since I had to prep for my procedure, where I couldn't eat the day before the procedure or the day of prior to my procedure. When we arrived it was not crowded at all and we were seated right away. We forgot how extensive their menu is. Hubby settled on a BLT on toasted wheat with fries and I chose the tuna melt on cheese bread with potato salad with iced teas with lemon. Our server Mimi was very sweet, friendly, and attentive. She welcomed us back since we told her it's been years since we ate here. It's very clean, not too noisy, and we love the murals showcasing bucolic scenes, which harken you back to the English countryside. I was stationed at RAF Bentwaters, UK in the mid-80s and it's a great memory. The food was very good and filling! Mimi kept checking on us and gave me a tea to go. I got great service from Mimi this time, and it was a really peaceful breakfast by myself. If you happen to sit up at the bar (I didn't sit there this time), they have a little peg board game to keep yourself entertained. In terms of the special, the steak came out fine. It came with eggs, your choice of potatoes, and a side of toast or other carb. Their spicy salsa had a great kick to it and the guys in the back add to the authenticity of the salsa. The coffee kept coming, and although I was enjoying some peaceful Sunday morning me-time, I knew my time was up after an hour and begrudgingly said goodbye to my coffee and my empty plate. I wish I could give this place 10 stars! I absolutely loved everything about it--from the delicious food to the incredible teamwork and energy of the staff. We came in for a late breakfast/early lunch, and the place was packed. Despite the rush, every single employee was working hard, not just for their own tables but for each other's as well. It was amazing to watch them move so seamlessly as a team. They've taken the phrase "teamwork makes the dream work" to a whole new level. At one point, the music got turned up and the servers broke out into a quick dance--most of the tables joined in, and it added such a fun, lighthearted touch to the experience. I even noticed a moment where a dish had to be tossed due to a mix-up, and I quietly mentioned it to my friend, concerned about the waste. Our server overheard and came over to explain the situation with such grace and attentiveness. It really stuck with me--she didn't have to say anything, but she took the time to acknowledge and ease my concern. The kitchen staff was cranking out food nonstop, and everything coming out looked incredible. The menu has something for everyone, and they even say that if you don't see what you're craving, they'll do their best to make it for you as long as they have the ingredients. I got the chilaquiles the little green sauce that it had tasted like it's canned sauce. The metal taste was there. Beans were not good also probably canned the only thing I liked was the eggs , you can't go wrong with that. I Can season with salt . I just could not eat it. I also had the French toast I felt the bread didn't have enough of the egg batter it was bearly dipped in it they were not fluffy. Not for me. Good food however, had I of seen the restroom before ordering I would have chose another place to eat. I have seen gas station bathrooms that are more clean. Filthy dirty and smells so bad you can smell it before even getting close to opening the door. The poor people eating at the nearby tables. Filthy floor and filthy toilets. We're glad to have found Annie's Café, located on Jefferson, for a breakfast with the Fam this past Sunday, 10.16th. There was about a 20-minute wait but it sure was worthwhile. The seating outside was comfortable and was fascinated by a replica of a red telephone booth; a hallmark of Annie's diner. As we enter the place, I quickly noticed how busy this location was. All the tables were filled with customers with smiles on their faces enjoying their breakfast meal while collaborating. The staff was all accommodating and quite friendly. In particular, Anne, who seemed to be the head host was attentive and ensured we were seated accordingly. As I was wandering my eyes around, I noticed the artifacts affixed on the walls were mostly, if not, all in Scottish decor. Unique vanity posters were hanging all around. We ordered the following food items: - Corned Beef Hash: it came with two medium easy eggs, hashed brown, two wheat toasts and grits with bacon. - Double Whammy: it came with the same as the above only minus the corned beef and added a couple of chorizo sausages. - Oatmeal & chicken fingers with fries for the kiddos. The meals were all warm and tasty. We enjoyed every sip of the hot coffee while munching on our delicious breakfast. The best of them all was the singing and dancing performance by the staff. We hadn't been back in months due to the poor quality of food. We decided to give it another try. I ordered my usual shrimp and avocado omelet with hash browns and English muffin. My husband had his usual too. My omelet was dry and seemed like they put very few shrimp in it and had very little cheese on top. I asked for the hash browns to be lightly cooked as I didn't want them overdone again. I flipped my hash browns over and sure enough they were almost burnt. Waitress brought me another order and they too, were overcooked. Didn't enjoy my food at all. Only thing I enjoyed was the English muffin. Husband said his food wasn't that great either. That said, the chef forgot to season anything. You need to use some salt and pepper in order to enhance the other flavors. I never add salt at a restaurant yet I saw the others adding it and we agreed there was no flavor of any seasonings. What boring spuds as they could add onion at least.
