Food mid. Service hit or miss. Ambiance good. My family has been coming to Annie's for about ten years now - going back to when they had the triangle peg puzzles at the tables. Outside of the Winston breakfast, nothing stands out that you cannot get at ihop or other diner establishments. My most recent visit... seasoned waitress there brings our food out and places each dish in front of the wrong individual who ordered, gets an order partially wrong, forgets to bring out an order, and passes check (bill) with credit card clearly sticking out place at the edge of the table several times. The restaurant was fairly empty. I ended up having to bring the check up myself to keep from waiting. I get rung up by another waitress who pressed the tip amount for me on her own accord via the handheld device - I was okay with her choice but would have liked to be the one to choose. Second to last visit... if all visits were like this, I would easily give +4 stars. Younger waitress (different one from last) was attentive, got the orders correct, suggested good things, food came out quick as it always does, checked on us regularly (but not overwhelmingly), and was just overall pleasant. Visit prior to that... waitress in training charged us the wrong order. Overall, will I go back? More than likely. I took my mom to Annie's Cafe Temecula for a fun birthday lunch. While this isn't a 'British Restaurant' per say, there are some British food items and souvenirs for sale and some British decor elements including a red phone box, post box and scenic wall murals. The girl on the front desk could have had a bit more enthusiasm and customer service panache, but the rest of the staff were friendly and bubbly, if not slightly rough around the edges. When I told the hostess we were celebrating a birthday in my family, she clearly grey-rocked me. Having said that, after telling the waitress that we were celebrating a birthday, a few staff came over later singing and dancing 'Happy Birthday' and placed a birthday 'cake hat' on my mom momentarily. That made her day! At one point a few staff also danced down one of the aisles of the restaurant which was immense fun. (I think they do this on a regular basis). The place was pretty busy on a Sunday lunch time, but we managed to get a booth right away. Just inside the door, there is a small 'wall shop' of a few British food items and souvenirs, including marmalade, HP sauce, Wine Gums, Heinz Beans and Annie's puddings. The breakfast/lunch menu is long and varied, and fairly typical diner food -- it may not be for you if you're a health freak! Great restaurant in Temecula perfect for recovery after a fun day wine tasting!! The menu has great food selections either for breakfast or lunch. There is a minimum wait time but I can taste why. The service is awesome, with friendly staff, even putting in a dance show every so often, which I found to be really cool. The restaurant is perfect for small to medium sized groups. I specifically wanted to try this because of the reviews on yelp. I have seen it plenty of times but never thought to try it. We were seated right away when we got there. It wasn't packed but it wasn't empty either. My first impression was good, it was clean, the staff were super nice and the prices were comparable to any restaurant in the area. I ordered a pretty classic breakfast and my daughter did as well but added chocolate chips to the pancakes and they looked great. Our food came out in a good amount of time. I thought it was great but I was also hungry too so that may have added to it. The pancakes were big , they came on a separate plate. We ordered water and my only negative would be the water tasted like tap water which I get because it is free but a filter would be nice. It is a cute diner/cafe vibe with good food, nice staff and a clean and cute atmosphere. I liked the atmosphere better than some of the diner cafes in the area. It's not outdated or old looking. I think it's worth a try. It's not exactly insta worthy but I give five stars for matters to me! read more

A few more visits later, everything is still amazing. Ordered the chilaquiles with carnitas. Carnitas were piled high and were super tender and flavorful. Wendy was our server and took great care of us. Later, Mimi took over when Wendy was off for the day and service was still spot on. I really enjoyed this cozy restaurant. Good service, delicious food. And it's woman-owned that has been in business for nearly four decades. I will tell you, though, I was so intrigued when I walked in and saw British-themed décor. They have a whole section where you can buy British food items and trinkets -- how fun. Overall, I found Annie's to be very welcoming and sweet. The menu is massive -- classic American comfort food with a British twist. Breakfast is served all day with items that include bangers, English bacon, Heinz baked beans, grilled mushrooms, fried bread. Country Fried Steak, hash browns, sausage links, omelettes, etc. They also have lots of burger and sandwich options, to include hot pastrami, sauerkraut on grilled sourdough, club, chicken and tuna sandwiches. They even have ribeye, filet mignon and New York steak. Again, massive menu. You will find vegan and vegetarian options on the menu as well. I've been to this café several times and every time I've had really great service. The food is pretty good, I'm big on breakfast so that's usually all I get here. We were in town for a mini vacation and wanted to try Annie's Cafe, based on the reviews and the location. Sitting right off of the freeway in Temecula, it's easy to find and get to, although you may miss the turnout if you're not paying attention on Jefferson. There are a few British photo-op props you can take pictures with while waiting to be seated, or even afterwards. They also have a small merchandise area, in case you wanted a small souvenir. Gratuity is automatically included for larger groups. The knight's armor display between the bathrooms is pretty cool. We arrived bright and early around 730 on a Saturday, and it filled up very quickly. While I'm not sure if it's a weekend special or a daily special, there was a chalkboard out in front highlighting a $12.99 steak and eggs special before 9AM. AMAZING deal to start the day. The steak is cooked to order, and you have a few options to choose from, and they're decent options....not cheap menu fillers. Probably why it filled up so quickly. Service is fast and friendly, and for larger groups, there are small table extenders that connect two together - great as a space-saver for fixed booths and tables. Boysenberry syrup is available for you pancake, waffle and french toast lovers! The waffle itself was huge, and the french toast was just as hefty. I didn't realize the portion size and ended up taking most of my toast to go. They have plenty of Smuckers jams, jellies and syrup to chose from - great for the to-go orders. The food is good, comes out very fast and will fill you up...also probably the main reason why the restaurant filled up so quickly. While there may be quite a few options nearby for breakfast and brunch, you won't be disappointed with the fluffy french toast, waffles, pancakes and the savory food. read more

Let's just start with Dottie and Rose. Amazing servers with the right attitude, get the right food out, be pleasant, and give the customer a good experience so they will come back. A dying art but they are keeping it alive at Annie's in Temecula. Let's talk food. We ordered one meal to share, and good thing we did. I ordered corned beef hash and eggs. It came out perfect! Light crisp on the exterior of the hash, and hash browns crisp as I ordered them. Oops almost forgot, the music was 70's-80's and set the happy tone for our meal. annie's cafe is kinda like a dennys/ihop, but so much better. got there on a sunday around 1pm, wait was only 20 minutes for four people. they do send a text when your table is ready but make sure to check within the wait time given because sometimes their texts don't go through. service was great, attentive & friendly. food was good, they serve a breakfast & lunch menu. lots of options to choose from! i got the annie super special & i was able to do one of each (bacon / sausage) so ask for that if you don't know which one you want more. my boyfriend got the country fried steak with hashbrowns & eggs. both were comforting & delicious breakfast. it wasnt too crowded or loud for a diner. would definitely come back to try their other popular items like the hawaiian french toast next time. read more

Dotti helped me at the bar and seems to really have a flow with the entire staff. After a minute of sitting, had 4 people check on me. Amazing! Not a fan of the owner. She's nice to some but not others. The place has loud singing and dancing periodically which I find disturbing while trying to enjoy a meal. The sausage they serve is delicious, second to none. Food is tasty but I can't get past the smugness when I arrive. Snotty is the vibe I get from her. my new go to place when i'm craving a dine in waffle! our server was very sweet and took care of us the whole time. she didn't bother us at all but still checked on us to get us everything we needed. i ordered the red white and blue waffle cause i love fruit on my french toast or waffles. soooo good. I was IN LOVE with the boisenberry syrup as well as the homemade whipped cream they put on top. i can't even describe how perfectly thick and nice it was. it paired nicely with some iced drip coffee to balance out the sweetness. boyfriend got the chicken and waffles and i lowkey wanted to switch but i was feeling more sweet. next time im craving a savory breakfast i want to get that. we were curious about the biscuits and eggs benedict. i'll have to try next time. ambiance was UK inspired and really nice and quaint. we got there before 10am so we beat the rush on a weekend. i like the diner bar setup they got going. really good vibes all around. read more

This was a great brunch find in Temecula! It was a little busy on a Sunday early afternoon, but you can get on the Yelp waitlist ahead of time! The interior is fairly large and definitely has a retro diner feel. The staff were very friendly (they're supposedly famous for this) and very attentive. They have mimosas! I had one of their mimosa flights of various flavors which were all delicious and plenty strong. Next time I think I'll try the "royal" mimosa flight which has some unique flavors. I had the Denver omelette with egg whites and hash browns. It's large, filling, and tasty. I love that it arrived piping hot, and the hash browns were perfectly crispy outside and fluffy inside. Their menu is extensive with a full front breakfast and a whole back side of lunch options. I highly suggest for first time patrons to study the menu before you come in as it was overwhelming with so much to choose from. The customer service was definitely the icing on our visit, Somer was very friendly and attentive. At the end of our meal, she asked if she could refill our waters and when we said yes, she asked if we wanted it for there or to go? What restaurant even does that? I was stunned silent for a few seconds before opting for to go cups which were filled with ice and lemon and so refreshing on a warm day. I stopped in for a to-go breakfast while staying at a hotel across the street and ordered the Eggs Benedict with home fries, plus an iced vanilla latte. The woman who took my order was very kind and friendly. Annie's Café has a charming British theme, complete with a classic red phone booth at the entrance and shelves of British goods near the register. It was quite busy inside, with several large parties waiting to be seated. Unfortunately, the food itself missed the mark. When I got back to my hotel and opened my order, my Eggs Benedict had no hollandaise sauce at all--just poached eggs, Canadian bacon, and an English muffin. The home fries also looked undercooked and unseasoned. I drove back to the restaurant to ask for the missing sauce. The gentleman at the front told me "just a moment," looked to seat a large party, and then eventually brought out a side of hollandaise. By the time I returned to my hotel again, the meal was lukewarm and still disappointing. Typically, Eggs Benedict are served with hollandaise on top and a sprinkle of paprika, which wasn't the case here. The home fries lacked flavor, with no noticeable seasoning. The iced vanilla latte was the highlight of the meal--it was delicious. But at $27.45, the overall experience was deeply disappointing. read more
