I'm still undecided of how I should rate this place. If you are coming from say, New York City, this might be something out of a movie. However for someone who is growing up in New Hampshire this might be what they expect for fine dining. My definition of it is, a.... typical NH diner. That isn't saying much. When walking in it felt like they were filming that 70's show or people just simply haven't left their seat since the 70s. Everything was a little yellow, dark, dusty and I mean the people as well as the decor. I'm not trying to sound harsh.... I just am being realistic. Long story short you're in New Hampshire ....what can you expect. Our server was super super happy and friendly, very sweet, sarcastic and welcoming... but they all did smell like smoke. That being aside, it was the friendliest service I had gotten in a long time. Slow... but when you are in the 603 life moves a little slower anyways. I fortunately had eaten already in before coming. So I get a chocolate milk and bacon. Both are pretty good. The other meals that everybody else got were mediocre, and left them with stomachachse afterwards However if you need a place to stop and you're looking for breakfast and some authentic New Hampshire atmosphere you will be certain to find that here. The food wasn't very good. I order scrambled eggs, sausage and potatoes. The eggs were runny. The sausage was under cook. The potatoes were raw. The customer service was absolutely horrible! I called in an order and the lady who took it was extremely rude! I was so ordering and in the middle of my order and she told me to stop speaking and she will ask questions and I answer. Every town should have a breakfast establishment that the locals love - Annie's Overflow is that place. The go-to place for early morning loggers, local law enforcement, families on the weekends, hungover college kids in the early afternoon, Annie's has something for everybody and still has that small-town charm. The owner has worked there from the inception and still does today happily waiting tables, teasing the regulars, and chatting with those passing through. And yes, if you've been there more than a couple of times she will know what you mean when you say "the usual" The food itself is standard diner fare: eggs, toast, pancakes biscuits, sandwiches and burgers. Coffee, juice, or even a beer for you hair-of-the-doggers. The food won't win any awards but it's good and comforting and served up with just the right amount of familiarity. We called last week to make sure they would be able to handle a large group as there were 3 families meeting for a Christmas Brunch coming from 3 different states... Let them know what time we were coming, even though they don't take reservations we were assured they would take good care of us. and all of us were on time, actually a little early. No tables ready for us, had to cram 9 people within 2 booths. Made for great visiting.... Coffee maker broke, Ran out of tea, by the time one of us got the butter and syrup for their pancakes, those were cold. Half of an egg shell And I mean a full half was in another's Eggs Benedict. Servings were minimal. Waitstaff was so, so. We like fresh, sarcastic staff, not down right rude. after our "brunch" we decided to go up the road to the Common Man and have a nicer time to visit. read more

I can't put into words how fond I am of Annie's! As a local, I honestly visit this place a few times a month! The atmosphere is wonderful, with hard working, generous staff who are extremely friendly and seem to really enjoy their job! I was here for lunch once and could not make up my mind between the Reuben or the meatloaf, so I settled for the sandwich. But, lo and behold, Annie comes out with a free slice of meatloaf for me! They really take care of their patrons and it's a very casual, homey environment. Just like brunch at Grandma's! If you don't drop in, you're missing out! This has to be one of the most authentic atmospheres in Plymouth, all the servers and chefs are actively collaborating together to achieve one goal and that is a happy customer! The prices are great especially in respect to college students. The quality of food is very good and just looking at the guy next to me his Shepard's Pie looks AMAZING. I really appreciate that the owner is actively helping her employees and actually appreciating their hard-work and contributions. This isn't a typical breakfast spot but a great family and friend environment. What stands out to me the most is Anne's leadership of her team and product output! Went here for breakfast every day of our vacation as we normally do almost every trip to New Hampshire. Most years we're greeted by Annie but this year she wasn't around. On the last day, we parked in the same spot as the days before. As we entered the restaurant the older waitress dressed in black with a long pony tail and glasses shouts out "NO! NO! You cant park that truck there! You have to move it." By this point my son was outside getting ready to move our pick-up as Pony tail continued to embarrass us. "That spots not for your truck. It's handicap only!" Long before that statement we were mortified that she shouted everything out for the whole restaurant to hear and every eye in the place was on us. I feel she could have quietly said handicap only can you move it? Anyway at the mention of being in the handicap spot everybody started mumbling to each other while eyeballing us and some ancient woman who was clearly trying to look young and missing the mark says to us " yeah, ya gotta move it. Handicap only". Mortified? We were beyond that point. So when she's says that space was handicap parking only I said I am handicapped We have a handicap placard. At this she goes from shouting out and putting a show on for the locals to a barely audible " Oh, I apologize for that " Guess she didn't want the locals to know she was apologizing. So we sit and order ( cuz if you've been here you know that Annie's is your only option for breakfast in the area) and she promptly served my wife a cup of cold coffee ("Oh, did I pour from the wrong pot?") The meal was the worst I've had in ages. I mean we lost our appetites, food tasted bland and I found myself having to give the evil eye to locals who kept eye balling us. My wife and I were mad, even our son was mad. We ended our meal early, and thanks to Miss Pony Tail we started our trip home on a sour note. Next year we'll scout out another restaurant for our money to change hands. read more

We went in today for the first time since the world shut down., but were still treated like old friends. Fast friendly service as usual. Our breakfast was delicious. You can even get a refill coffee to go. We had mentioned to the waitress that we were at our condo because our home had burnt down and she immediately said she was buying our breakfast. We politely refused but she would not be stopped. When another waitress heard she came over to offer her sympathies. It was heartwarming to say the least. Used to be decent service here. Came in with plenty of time to be served and eat, but was treated awful. They stood behind the counter and talked about how late they would be getting out. Treated us and others around us like crap, but treated the regulars with 5 star service. Don't come here unless you're a local and a regular. Even finished/left before they closed. We came on a Monday holiday , we sat on the circle table for table of 5 which on the Conner and waited about half hour to order our food because no one come to service us. there's a heat just right next to us so we asked a lady with the glass on if any way to turn it lower , she said it so loud if she turned it off others will freezing , hey girl , I do understand that, but you don't have to said it so freaking loud out and my face already turned red because the heat. Horrid service, wife was hit by an exploding coffee dreamer as the waitress flung it at some nearby customers in anger. The meal my daughter got wasn't even close to what she ordered and when asked the waitress seemed upset that she wanted what she ordered. While waiting for traffic to lighten up on freshman move-in day, my daughter & I went in to seek refuge from the heavy August humidity. She ordered breakfast & I ordered a chocolate frappe (or a milkshake as non-New Englanders call it). The waitress was SUPER DUPER nice! Ate breakfast here while on vacation. Not sure who wrote the other reviews but they must be either family or friends! The food was horrible and the service was even worse. We got our drinks right away and then waited 20 minutes for our server(who was busy talking to a man at the counter) to take our order. I ordered an omelet and hash brown potatoes. the omelet tasted like it was cooked on a dirty grill and the potatoes were cold and raw. My friend(being from Boston) ordered the corn beef hash and baked beans. The hash was burnt and the beans tasted like they were microwaved! But the locals seem to like it. Patrons were very friendly and the place felt like it was a well-worn, popular New England restaurant. The food took a while but was worth the wait. Have eaten there many times in the last 4 years. It is a local gem. The food is always top notch and plentiful. Their eggs benedict variations are always a great option. Don't go there expecting anything fancy. It is home-style cooking served simply. The wait staff work hard to keep everything moving. It gets very busy and there is often a short wait, but don't let a short line deter you. It moves fast. Keep that in mind, and don't hang out and read a paper when it is busy. Great breakfast food for an okay price. I was really happy with the food I got here and the prices weren't too bad. It's a little small and cramped inside for how busy it is, but they seemed to be desperately understaffed. We were there for nearly an hour and a half today, mostly waiting for service and then for our bill. One of the other waitresses walked by cursing loudly and talking about how she was purposely not giving someone service for some reason or another, which was really unprofessional. But overall it was an okay experience and I will probably be back again. read more

My wife had the special of the day, a spinach and cheese scramble, my son-in-law had eggs Benedict, his friend had their breakfast sandwich, and I had the house baked beans, and eggs. All were excellent. Our waitress was efficient, cheerful and friendly. The coffee was good, and the meal prepared and delivered quickly. All piping hot. A nice local breakfast spot.
