The staff is friendly for the most part. Prices are very reasonable. The only thing I dislike is the soliciting of people coming in trying to sell you jewelry, "designer" sunglasses, DVDs/CDs etc. *update* after several years I've decided to get acrylic nails. I had an horrible experience here. When I was seated to start getting my full set I showed the gentleman doing my nails a picture of what I wanted and picked the colors the first nail in he was doing it all wrong and I kept correcting and asking him to fix his mistakes and instead of listening and fixing them he continued to not listen. I walked out of there very unhappy with how my nails came out after spending almost 70 dollars on them. And not even 24 hours did one of them break. The gentleman doing my nails did a very poor job. Highly unsanitary salon. When she took out the foil used to soak my gels off it was so wrinkled and I couldn't understand why. When she finished soaking my nails and straightened that SAME foil and put it back in her utility drawer I understood. She didn't use tools to remove my gels, she scraped it off with her fingernail; disgusting and painful . When she finished my nails I noticed she missed most of the crevices so it was a crappy job. Typical nail salon...high customer turnover so you are in and out but the service is not as personalized as I would like. Products used are on the lower end. My shellac manicure started chipping the day after I got my nails done...shellac typically lasts a week or more. Not to sure about the cleanliness of this establishment. I noticed the manicurist picking small partials off his tools prior to clipping my nails. I would say this is a good place to go if you are in a rush but definitely explore other options.. read more

The salon is clean and has a wide selection of services you can choose: facials, body waxing, detox foot baths etc. I find the week days are better; no wait. I wanted my nails done and I came here to Annies Spa. I was promptly seated and asked to pick a color. I chose my color and my tech went to work. He was an older man but he took his time and did an good job. One of my nails was a little off centered, but he did some kind of trick and it was back to normal lol. I would possibly return, my full set was $22, not a bad price also i think they charge for shaping. No hand massage was giving it would have been nice but, oh well. I may return since I do live quite a ways from this salon it wouldn't be my first choice. Got a manicure and my daughter got a gel overlay.......the manicure was horrible and her overlay was thick and looked horrible and when I told them about it they say that's because of the acrylic they used......didn't offer to fix it or nothing but was ready to rush you out so they can leave. My daughter just wanted to leave and not let them do anything else to her nails but they continuously have improved on their horrible service! DO NOT GO HERE, you will regret it! I usually prefer to support small, local, or minority owned salons like Koco Nails on Ridge ave but I come to this place for last minute jobs since it's two blocks from my house. I'm always disappointed with my nails when I come. I found one tech I liked named Kim but she moved to E'Tae so now I only get my brows waxed here. I only let Annie or Mimi do them. Both do an excellent job. Someone at a different shop had made my eyebrows uneven months ago and they nourished them back to normal very nicely. read more

Today was my first time at this establishment I stop there because it was more convenient location wise. I got a gel manicure and pedicure. My pedicure was not done with hot stone nor did my nail technician take their time it was done very sloppy I had to correct him two times on the paint job. I got a French manicure and had also correct that because he was making the line to thick where it looked Godey. When it was time for me to pay the charge was $67. This nail salon is over price. They charge $15 extra for gel polish every other nail salon around the area and in Philadelphia is $10 extra total cost for the pedicure was $37 total cost for my nails was $30 have you ever heard of such an up charge. The price that is listed is different from what they charge I was told that the list wasn't updated and that I must pay the fee. It was my first and last time please do not waste your time nor money at this location the time spent there was over a hour fora gel manicure and pedicure on a Tuesday. read more

Two Stars...mostly for staffing. There is rarely a long wait because there are staffed excellently. However, everything is rushed. I visited several times, trying a new nail tech each time to see if I could find "the one". The nail jobs were ALWAYS messy-- either they aren't paying attention and cut the skin around your nails multiple times; the Polish is old and clumpy so the paint job is clumpy (and it's your fault for picking the color); the nails are unevenly filed and it's your fault because "that's the way your fingers grow"; or the uv light is broken so your gel runs and "it's okay; it's ombre". ---- They never problem solve or take accountability for rushed work. Pedicures are more like feet washing so I always passed. Lastly, they use the same stick for waxing. One stick per client meaning they double dip into the wax. The heat of wax and the lifting of hair from the root opens pores on the skin (a party for BACTERIA) and they dip it back into the wax.....that same wax is now placed on the next clients face. (The residual pus from a random strangers' blackhead or bacteria from a cold sore for a lip wax meets your eyebrows with double dipping) read more

The owner-Annie used to havea salon on Frankford, but she said parking was horrific, so she moved here, more parking..but man -Does it stay busy or what??!! Even on Mother's day weekend the place had wait, every station was full. OMG!! She was very pleasant, personable, most of her regulars know her by 1st name basis. This is actually a MINUS star. This establishment should be removed from YELP!! Anyone that has rated this hot ghetto mess as good or above, has never gone out of the hood for nail service. I never get my nails done in the city. I have a nail salon that I have been with for 4 years. I was in dyer need of a pedicure, and could not travel Abington PA. This salon was suggested to me by a girl at Hair Town. GHETTO is an understatement. The front desk person Sheree was unprofessional. She advised me there was a 20-25 minute wait. After I sat for approximately 25 min, and asked her how much longer, she gave me a dry response, saying "oh, that was just an estimate", in a nasty tone. They have clear shower curtain liners hanging between each station, yes, I said shower curtain liners... Did I also mention there is an older woman at the front of the salon selling cheap jewelry. I heard a customer refer to her as Mom, apparently this woman is permanent fixture. The clientele of women are clearly used to a lower class of service, since they were regulars, yet sitting and waiting for hours to be serviced. The majority of the customers drive from what I could see, so help me to understand why they wouldn't drive into Montgomery county, which boarders Cheltenham ave, for a better level of service???????? HOOD to the tenth POWER is the answer!!! Smmfh!!!! I am so irritated, but in such need of a gel pedi. I am going to wait, out of pure frustration, and believe me, there will be a $0 TIP......... I am finally in the chair!! after over a 40 minute wait. They gave me the OLDEST nail tech in the salon!! When she sat me in the chair, I advised her I was waiting for over 40 minutes. She smiled then walked away and started talking about me to another tech as if I am stupid and unaware that she is talking about me. This is my second time at this salon and clearly I had a better experience the first time (pedicure only). I got a pedicure/full set and the paint job (later on in the day when I looked at it outside) is horrible. It looks like a child painted my nails and I am very upset so when I get a chance to speak to the owner and if they agree to redo I will feel better but if they won't redo I will never go back to the nail salon. It doesn't make no sense they don't take their time in painting nails/feet. I work everyday to look nice and feel good not upset which is what I am about this nail job I received. read more

This was an AWFUL experience so much so that I took the time to pen a review. I have been here a few times over the years but my most recent experience has proven that I will NEVER return. The owners used to be older and I was particularly interested in one who would always talk about Jesus. However all the older technicians must have replaced themselves with the younger, much less personable versions, of themselves. My assigned technician was just practicing on me yet charging me money. The technician took over an hour and half to complete just a full set with gel polish. I had to keep pointing out to her the mistakes and towards the end I was just ready to go. She was very rude and never apologized to me after misusing all the tools and actually hurting my nail beds. It was an awful experience and I will never go back again. read more

A male friend of mine treated me to a mani/pedi at Annie's Spa and the service was great on this one occasion. Then a few weeks later I decided to try out their gel polish on a Saturday since the customer sitting next to me was kind enough to answer my questions about it. She stated it normally lasts about two weeks but be aware the polish might crack. So I requested just the polish for $15 vs. a gel manicure for $25. I picked out a color and proceeded about my business. The entire process was really quick and I was pleased with the outcome. So Sunday rolls around and I noticed one nail was chipped, I was very surprised and a little pissed off. As normally I just get a mani with regular polish and it normally takes a least a week before I see any polish chipping off. So to my surprise by the end of Sunday two corners of the polish o n two different nails had chipped off. When Monday arrived I called the shop and asked to speak to the owner Annie. The attended that answered the phone was very very RUDE. She stated "Annie not here" so I asked when Annie would be back, she said later....humm later when? Her response, "later, I don't know later". By this time I was livid and said I am coming there after work for the attendant Helen to fix my nails. Long story short, I heard 3 different reasons why the polish chipped and actually had to visit the shop twice within one week in order for them to fix my nails. Not really a fan of this shop overall and they have poor customer service when answering the telephone. I would not suggest this place as customer service is # 1 on my list. Im so disappointed in the service I received. I went in for a refill and repair and instead she decided to rip the acrylics off my nails and in the process ripped my actual nails so that they bled. To top it off the technician didn't even take the time to paint my nails nicely. They're sloppy and I have nail polish in the side of my skin and cuticles. Overall it was a disappointment. I went in on 12/5/2015 for a soak off, full set and brows. overall it was ok. The male nail tech that sat me down first tried to tell me I don't need to soak off, which I appreciated save me a few $$, however I soak off every month. What did not appreciate was 1. he cut my nails down without first asking if that was what I actually wanted done. 2. I asked for a soak off not for u to pull out clippers and attempt to rips my acrylic off, don't nail techs know how bad that is for our nail beds and not to mention the risk of ripping our actual nails. and 3. his attitude when I pulled my hand away and stated again I want a soak off. I mean I get it its time consuming, however I'm the one sitting with my hand in the bowl not you. Anyways after about 20 mins of soaking and my hand being pulled on by two insensitive nail techs, never knew how much soak offs were disliked, I was tended to by AMY, omg she is great, she took her time when removing the excess acrylic, unlike the other two techs, being very gentle. She also explained to me the process of sns and persuaded me to get sns vs. acrylic, in other words $19 acrylic full set vs. a $35 sns full set. I love them and she painted my ENTIRE NAIL, which for some reason a lot of salons I've been to don't. I asked for any two designs and left it up to her lol she made me a bow and xmas tree which I LOVED I'm very festive they match my earrings. read more

This salon honestly deserves no stars. Last night, I went there for a facial wax. This was my 2nd time coming. I recall paying $12 in cash since they didn't accept debit cards back then (I don't know about today). So I asked this lady (wish I have known her name) for an accurate price so I can be prepared to pay. She looked at my unwanted facial hair and made an unnecessary comment such as that my hair will be difficult to take out (duh like I didn't know). I was already uncomfortable with the comment. When it was my turn, she attempted to take out one side of my sideburn & had an disgusting look on her face afterwards. She charged me $15 because my hair was long. I told her that's exactly why I asked, but she was extremely disrespectful. She basically stopped servicing me afterwards. I left the salon humiliated and traumatized and without paying because she didn't deserve a cent from me. I wouldn't recommend going there read more

I'm always open to trying new nail salons around the area so when a friend suggested I try Annie's, I was more than open to it. I walked in on a friday night and waited approx 30 minutes to be seen. While waiting, I observed the facility. It looked a little disorganized but I still was open to giving them a try. My gel manicure came out great BUUUTTTT, at one point the technician sneezed in BOTH OF HER HANDS and proceeded to try and grab my hand without washing or sanitizing her's. I was done after that. Never again. The whole salon is anything but clean. I was appalled by everything I saw. read more
