So i came in because my first experience with them was fairly good despite cutting my skin on my finger with the drill. The second time...never again. They gave me duck looking nails that were not even at all. I wanted the glazed donut pinky white chrome nails that were instead a green underchrome. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I had dozed off a bit during my nail session but I had trusted her because my first experience was good enough.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] However, the worst part and why I am leaving this review: They gave me "ring of fire" in my nails. I was taking them off after soaking them at home and I have had many false nails over the course of my life. This time, it BURNED. I wondered why they hurt so bad and I discovered the raw nail bed under my nails. My nail bed was drilled to the sensitive parts (reddened compared to the rest of my nails appearance) and it has taken a lot of time for them to grow out and not be so sensitive. My review contains the nails right after service and the state of my nails after removal a few days later with some nail care done. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I gave a tip during my service because I was raised to pay even if the service was not what you wanted (and I was not wasting another second just to argue for her to redo them) but I am never returning[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Was happy with the final product! Gel nails with design. I showed a photo of the design I wanted and they replicated it pretty closely! I have short nails so there isn't as much real estate and I thought they shaped them well. They have many different colors and types of services (gel, acrylics, dip, extensions, etc). The service was fast, staff was friendly. I got a shoulder rub at the end. Place has ATMs. A few times I wasn't sure whether the technician was talking to me or to other staff members but after 5min I just relaxed and watched the TV. I had a mani pedi. The pedicure experience seemed truncated although I had made an appointment days before and it wasn't because of a time crunch. They didn't clean up the nail polish on the skin after they painted my toes. Overall I thought the pedicure experience was underwhelming. The dip manicure I got didn't last a week which was extremely disappointing after paying as much as I did ($45). Also, the color selection across the board seemed to be missing a variety of orange and green options. Lots of pinks, blues, and neutrals. I live nearby and love a place that allows you to request an appointment through Yelp. I have gotten both manicures and pedicures and they have been fine. The regular polish pedicures always lasted me longer than my gel polish manicures. The salon itself is very clean and they offer drinks. I have been to Youcol enough times to fill out a full loyalty card, because the prices were average and there was never a long wait. However, I started to get frustrated with the fact that I would have gel manicures chip after a day or two of having them. I made a last minute decision to stop somewhere else while walking through the city and I got a gel manicure for the same price that did not chip until it was time for my next one! Having found something better in the same price range, I won't return to Youcol. If you're in a pinch and don't want to wait in line elsewhere, you can get a good pedicure and a decent manicure here. First thing nail tech did was use an electric nail buffer on nail surface and cut my cuticle. It started bleeding so she put something on it that felt like alcohol because it burned. Rest of pedicure was painful bc of the cut. Picture is 2 weeks later, cuticle is scabbed and healing. read more

It's been a while since I've gotten a Pedicure in Philly, so read reviews on Yelp. Sea Blue got good reviews and is walking distance from my home, so decided to give them a try. I asked for Joann as her name was mentioned in several reviews. I was able to get in with a few hours of my call, and I was pleasantly surprised to see how well they were handling cleanliness. Each foot tub is lined with a disposable liner. All equipment is sterilized for Each customer. Joann gave an incredible leg massage and a nice pedicure. Good! Nail tech gave me a quality gel manicure. However they state everywhere that they use disposable tools and they have them out and displayed but that wasn't actually the case, an old file and buffer was used on me. I also did not see them pull tools out of an autoclave or UV sanitizer - she got the tools off the shelf and sprayed a bit of alcohol on them. So not as clean as I'd hoped / as advertised, but they did do a great job on my nails. I'm still gonna look around for a place that ACTUALLY has cleanliness standards but this place definitely isn't the worst I've been to. Very friendly as well and good prices. read more

This is my favorite nail place in the area. The staff is really nice and considerate, even going so far as to help me put my jacket and shoes on so I don't ruin my nails! They take their time and make sure you are happy with the result. The massage they give at the end is also a really professional touch. They are also taking COVID protection measures pretty seriously so you need to call ahead for an appointment and use sanitizer upon entering. There are also plastic panes between the manicure stations and plastic between the pedicure chairs. This nail salon will try to upsell you at every turn. Before my pedicure, I was shown a menu after I told the nail tech specifically that I wanted a regular pedicure. She kept on insisting I do the collagen treatment after I told her no three times. She called collagen "medicine." They want cash and ask you to go to their bank machine to get cash out. I had a waxing today where the tech started waxing more than I asked and tried to charge double. The gel on my nail last week is chipping already.
